Chapter 458: Chapter 421: Array Assessment
Chu Mu took a step forward. The aura from the Heavenly Deceit Pill’s disguise slowly dissipated, revealing his own cultivation and presence.
Since the Master of the Secret Realm had already given him permission, his elaborate ruse was clearly pointless now.
It was better to be open and straightforward.
Ascending the steps, Chu Mu recalled the scene from all those years ago and couldn’t help but laugh self-deprecatingly. Back then, after enduring the trial and being covered in wounds, he had disregarded his injuries to collect the healing mist from this place.
The healing mist had proven quite effective for the many injuries he sustained later on.
According to his research, the mist was a veritable Holy Medicine for healing. It was likely created by extracting the essence of multiple Spirit Medicines, each over ten thousand years old, and then refining it all with the power of the sun and moon.
If he hadn’t already used up all the healing mist he collected, recovering from his current injuries wouldn’t have been so difficult.
"Immortal Dao Sect..."
His thoughts drifted as Chu Mu looked up at the high-hanging plaque.
’To have established such a foundation, the prosperity of the Immortal Dao Sect back then is easy to imagine.’
’Yet even an existence as prosperous as this was worn away by the long river of time.’
’Now, throughout the entire Cultivation Immortal Realm, how many people even know the name of the Immortal Dao Sect?’
’Of those Great Divine Power Users from the past, how many are still alive?’
’Without attaining eternal life, everything is but an illusion.’
Foundation Establishment granted three hundred years of life. The lifespan of a Golden Core cultivator was, at the very minimum, six to seven hundred years.
It was said that some who practiced special Health Cultivation Techniques could live for over a thousand years, even in the Golden Core Realm.
In the Vast Sea Cultivation Immortal World, cultivators with high-tier bloodlines like the Flood Dragon Bloodline, or some special Demon Beast Bloodlines, also lived far longer than ordinary Cultivators of the Same Tier.
As for his own lifespan, Chu Mu estimated that with his foundation, he should have originally had seven or eight hundred years.
However, his current injuries were so severe that he was truly at the end of his rope.
His blood essence had run dry, his physical body was decaying, and his Golden Core was on the verge of shattering. With such devastating injuries, it wouldn’t be surprising to lose one or two hundred years of his life.
Not to mention, the Demonization Erosion within his tattered body had never stopped.
All he could hope for now was to survive this ordeal, recuperate properly, and see if he could restore some of his foundation.
STEP, STEP, STEP...
Accompanied by the sound of steady footsteps, Chu Mu soon stopped before the enormous Celestial Trace Crystal Stone.
’Was the avatar... formed from this?’
Staring at the Celestial Trace Crystal that occupied the entire wall, Chu Mu couldn’t help but recall the avatar from the Demon Realm.
Its pure Divine Soul Aura wasn’t hard to discern.
Judging by the True Demon’s fearlessness, the Dragon Robe man’s true body obviously couldn’t make it in time.
Given the timing, the Dragon Robe man’s avatar was most likely a temporarily manifested Divine Soul avatar.
’If the Dragon Robe man’s true body couldn’t make it, then the source of that avatar...’
A flicker of light crossed Chu Mu’s eyes, and his gaze upon the Celestial Trace Crystal Stone before him seemed to burn with an irrepressible heat.
This giant Celestial Trace Crystal Stone could be said to be the crystallized essence of countless eons of heritage from this Cultivation Immortal World’s civilization.
An Illusory World, built from boundless knowledge through the process of Refining Illusion into Truth!
Even if the Cultivation Immortal Realm were to be annihilated one day, as long as this Celestial Trace Crystal Stone existed, the Cultivation Immortal Civilization would not disappear; it would continue to be passed down.
"Hooo..."
Chu Mu took a deep breath, the heat in his eyes slowly fading. He gently touched the translucent blue crystal with his Divine Sense, and the familiar feeling of the world spinning around him washed over him.
When his feet were on solid ground again, he was still in the Inheritance Hall. The high platform was still there, but the translucent blue crystal before him had vanished.
On either side of the hall, two doorways had appeared: one for "Skill" and one for "Magic."
The wooden doors were very plain, looking almost out of place in this exquisite hall of jade.
The word "Skill," much like the words "Immortal Dao Pavilion" on the plaque, seemed to hold countless mysteries within a single glance.
Everything was exactly as he remembered it, without the slightest difference.
Without any hesitation, he strode straight toward the wooden door marked "Skill."
He reached out and touched the wooden door, which swung open with ease.
A bright and spacious area came into view.
Stepping inside, he saw a wide, circular plaza.
Encircling the plaza were wooden doors set into the stone walls, each with a clearly visible label above it.
Alchemy, Artifact Refining, Talisman Making, Spiritual Plants, Magic Techniques, Arrays...
The Hundred Skills of Cultivation Immortal, countless inheritances, and endless information—all were made real here through Refining Illusion into Truth.
Chu Mu paused, his eyes sweeping over the labels, over each and every skill inheritance.
For one year, this place... was his for the taking...
An indescribable excitement surged in his heart and showed on his face. Chu Mu had to take several deep breaths to suppress the overwhelming feeling.
His gaze fixed on the doorway for Arrays. The Nine Dragon Divine Fire Array seemed to appear before his eyes again—a sky-spanning sea of fire, nine divine dragons...
Chu Mu pressed his lips together and, with a decisive step, walked toward the Array doorway.
He pushed open the door and entered. Amidst the gloom, points of light twinkled. Chu Mu realized that, without noticing, he now found himself in a void that resembled the starry cosmos.
He looked around; it was dark in all directions.
The faintly shimmering points of light were the only things keeping the darkness from being terrifying.
A stream of information then flooded his mind. Chu Mu froze for a moment, and before he could react, a faint killing intent washed over him.
In the void, an Array Prohibition materialized. Its intersecting Array Prohibition Patterns formed into chains that whipped toward him out of thin air.
He subconsciously tried to mobilize his Magical Power, only to realize with a shock that he couldn’t sense his Golden Core Realm Magical Cultivation at all.
All he could vaguely sense was an extremely meager amount of Magical Power, roughly equivalent to the Early Stage of Qi Cultivation.
’A test... of pure Array Dao foundation?’
Chu Mu thoughtfully sized up the Array before him.
It was only Tier One Lower Grade, which corresponded perfectly to an Early Stage of Qi Cultivation.
But in the way of Arrays, Mighty Power could never be measured by Grade alone.
Unless one had a considerable understanding of Arrays, it was basically impossible for an ordinary Tier One Early Stage—that is, an Early Stage of Qi Cultivation cultivator—to withstand a Tier One Lower Grade Array.
And this was especially true for the Small Five Elements Vajra Array before him.
Tier One Lower Grade Arrays were usually Single Attribute Arrays of extreme simplicity.
But a Tier One Lower Grade Array like the Small Five Elements Vajra Array, which incorporated the flow of the Five Elements and possessed all five Attributes, was exceedingly rare.
Chu Mu shifted slightly, dodging the incoming Array Prohibition Chains. In the instant they brushed past him, the faint Array Prohibition Inscriptions were already being rapidly processed in his mind.
’A Sealing Array. Its main function should be suppression.’
’It’s the Small Five Elements Vajra Array!’
In just a brief moment of thought, he had the answer.
Chu Mu took a step, extending his right arm. With only a faint surge of Magical Power, points of light flickered at his fingertips. After a few light taps, the Grand Array before him, thick with killing intent, shattered with a BOOM.
Light flashed, and a line of text appeared, assessing him as an Array Master.
In this Array Inheritance Space, he had been rated as a Tier One Lower Grade... Array Master!
Chu Mu’s gaze was calm. He glanced at the rating before looking up into the vast darkness.
After about a quarter of an hour, the dark void stirred once more, and another Array descended...
