Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything

Chapter 227 - 223: Dissipating Nether Qi

The Insight Technique was activated, and the panel displayed: Dharma Transmission (First Layer, Mastery 2,965/10,000).

Among all of Song Ciwan’s cultivation techniques, the one with the slowest cultivation speed wasn’t a Divine Communication Technique like Infinite Power, nor was it the Insight Technique itself. It was actually "Dharma Transmission"!

Dharma Transmission required a subject; it wasn’t something that could be improved by practicing in a vacuum.

The stronger the subject’s Cultivation, the more successful the Dharma Transmission, and the faster her experience in the skill increased.

For Song Ciwan, this cultivation technique was an Ultimate Skill that allowed the weak to control the strong, so she paid close attention to it.

The Dharma Transmission experience steadily rose, from 2,965, to 2,998, to 3,012, to 3,089...

Song Ciwan explained in detail, and Gao Xiaolang listened, completely enthralled.

An unknown amount of time passed. The Yangchun Noodles grew cold. Gao Xiaolang, sitting earnestly cross-legged, closed his eyes and began to attempt circulating the Fetal Transformation and Shape-shifting technique.

He mobilized the Nether Qi within his body, trying to sense the Innate as Song Ciwan had taught him.

Several breaths later, Gao Xiaolang suddenly trembled. The next moment, his body began to twitch, and disordered tentacles shot out erratically from his lower body. Some tentacles rapidly elongated, only for other tentacles to emerge from behind and violently drag them back.

The tentacles tied themselves into knots, quickly becoming a tangled mess.

But that wasn’t the worst of it. The worst part was that the chaotic and rampaging Nether Qi from Gao Xiaolang’s body began to spread outward!

Song Ciwan sensed some of the Nether Qi drift next door, and the couple, Young Master Sun and his wife, suddenly grew irritable.

First was Young Master Sun. He threw down the firewood in his hands and roared at Lady Sun, "You wretched woman! You bully your husband and throw your weight around! Today, I will divorce you!"

Without a second word, Lady Sun snatched up a nearby fire poker and brought it down on Young Master Sun’s head.

BANG!

The poker drew a trickle of blood from Young Master Sun’s head. He let out a pained scream and collapsed.

Lady Sun sneered. "Divorce me? You ungrateful coward! I’ve worked my fingers to the bone for you all these years, and just last night I risked my life to protect you. And what do you do? The first thing out of your mouth is divorcing your wife. How dare you say something like that? Say it again, I dare you!"

As she spoke, Lady Sun’s hands didn’t stop.

The fire poker landed THUD THUD THUD on Young Master Sun’s body, drawing pained screams. He had nowhere to hide and couldn’t fight back. It was a truly pitiful sight, beyond description.

Next door, Song Ciwan...

’This is bad,’ she thought, quickly flicking her hand to cast a wisp of the Blazing Flame Technique.

A dark red flame spread silently through the air, swiftly burning away the dissipating Nether Qi.

At the same time, Song Ciwan took out the Duality Heart Protection Array Plate, enveloping Gao Xiaolang in its protective field as quickly as possible to prevent the Nether Qi escaping from him from spreading any further.

The convulsing Gao Xiaolang let out a low cry, abruptly releasing his hand seals and collapsing to the ground.

He looked up, his eyes open, and said, "Sister Song, I can’t sense the Innate. I’m sorry, I can’t learn your Magic!"

As he spoke, he scrambled up and hurriedly stuffed all the tentacles at his feet back into his body.

While doing so, he lowered his head in shame, his face flushed red with embarrassment.

Song Ciwan sighed inwardly. She pressed the Duality Heart Protection Array Plate directly into Gao Xiaolang’s hands, making its protective shield cling to his entire body.

"This isn’t your fault." Song Ciwan reached out and gently stroked Gao Xiaolang’s head before taking his hand. "Xiaolang, your Nether Qi is leaking. I’m afraid it will trigger the City Defense Array. We need to leave this place, quickly."

Gao Xiaolang knew the situation was serious, but he couldn’t help but cast a longing glance at the two untouched bowls of Yangchun Noodles.

Song Ciwan waved her hand, storing the two bowls of noodles in her Vast Sea Grotto Heaven. Then, pulling Gao Xiaolang along, she activated her Escape Technique and vanished from the room in an instant.

As she left, she didn’t forget to also store the toiletries she and Gao Xiaolang had used in the Vast Sea Grotto Heaven. There was no special reason for this, just habitual caution.

The Escape into the Night technique chased the shadows. In moments, Song Ciwan led Gao Xiaolang across several streets. Soon, she had left Shanren Square, where she was renting, and ducked into Siquan Square with Gao Xiaolang.

Siquan Square was a lawless zone within Pinglan City. It was a nexus of the city’s filth and squalor, a place of poverty, sickness, suffering, darkness, and chaos...

In short, although its name was Siquan Square, it was, in reality, a slum.

In a place like this, you didn’t even need Demon Fiends to stir up trouble; the square was already perpetually saturated with all kinds of Yin Qi, Nether Qi, and other gloomy energies.

Song Ciwan brought Gao Xiaolang to a dark corner in Siquan Square, where the various chaotic auras of the district immediately masked his strange presence.

In the corner, several fat rats tainted with Demonic Qi were squeaking chaotically before suddenly scattering and fleeing.

Song Ciwan caught the rats, casually knocked them unconscious, and tossed them into her Spirit Beast Bag.

If the Big White Goose woke up, it could have the rats as a snack if it was in the mood.

Song Ciwan sent a voice transmission: "Xiaolang, I have a few Yin Soul Pearls here. Hide inside one for now, and I’ll take you out of the city immediately."

Aberrations had unique forms of existence, one might say they were half-real and half-ethereal. As such, High Level aberrations often possessed the ability of Qi Transformation.

Song Ciwan took out the Yin Soul Pearls, and Gao Xiaolang responded in a low voice, "Thank you, Sister Song."

With a flicker of his body, he transformed into a wisp of Light Smoke and slipped into the largest of the Yin Soul Pearls.

Several fine cracks instantly appeared on the Yin Soul Pearl—this was because Gao Xiaolang’s Level was high, while the pearl’s was too low. The two were simply not a good match.

Song Ciwan estimated that Gao Xiaolang could stay in the Yin Soul Pearl for half an hour at most.

She immediately changed her face again, taking on the appearance of the Cultivator Xin Mian. Then, she simultaneously cast Escape into the Night and the Wind Manipulation Technique, speeding toward Pinglan City’s South City Gate.

Before long, Song Ciwan had crossed Siquan Square, bypassed two main streets, and arrived not far from the South City Gate.

Once again, in the corner of a deep alley, Song Ciwan changed her face.

This time, she modeled her appearance after Niu the Fourth, adjusting herself to look like a simple, honest old farmer. She also changed into a set of worn, washed-out linen clothes and altered her height and build before stepping out of the deep alley.

Hunching her back and keeping her hands tucked, Song Ciwan walked onto the main street, completely inconspicuous.

The Qimen Taoist Skill, A Grain of Sand in the Sea, operated continuously as Song Ciwan blended into the crowd, heading toward the open city gate.

There were quite a few people at the South City Gate, a large portion of whom were common folk who had come into the city to set up stalls for the full moon night.

Unfortunately, the Night Parade of Hundred Demons last night had caused many of them to lose their goods in the chaos instead of earning money. Some unlucky ones were injured, and the even more unfortunate had lost their lives...

Needless to say, those who had lost their lives had been dealt with by the City Patrol Department and certainly wouldn’t be appearing here now.

Many of those who had been lucky enough to survive were unwilling to remain in the city any longer and were now taking advantage of the daylight to leave quickly.

Song Ciwan walked to the back of the crowd and silently got in line.
