Eternal Life: I Can Sell Everything

Chapter 362 352: Unfazed by the Bizarre, It Defeats Itself

The Third Princess was giving birth... again! And again! And again!

'But isn't the Third Princess supposed to get married today? Isn't this her wedding banquet?'

The information overload stunned Song Ciwan for a moment, but she quickly recovered.

'Whether this Xizhai, this bizarre place, is a Deceitful Realm or not, one thing is clear: this is no ordinary realm.'

'In a strange place, even stranger things are bound to happen. No need to be alarmed.'

'This was a classic case of familiarity breeding contempt. If you don't find the strange strange, it loses its power over you.'

Song Ciwan followed the hurrying Eldest Princess, passing with her through a covered corridor.

As she passed through the corridor, Song Ciwan once again had the strange sensation of traveling through time and space.

Though it was clearly just a straight corridor, Song Ciwan felt as if she had crossed through countless, ever-changing worlds in the blink of an eye.

One moment, she was in the heavens.

In a Celestial Palace shrouded in clouds and mist, Immortals from All Under Heaven appeared... some rode the clouds, some practiced Wind Manipulation, others sat in treasured palanquins or stood on lotus platforms. Some arrived with dashing elegance, traveling alone, while others were surrounded by countless attendants, riding dragons and phoenixes as they soared between heaven and earth.

When a chariot pulled by a dragon and a phoenix appeared within the illusion, Song Ciwan only managed a distant glance before a stabbing pain shot through her eyes. Her heart pounded in her chest, and a terrifying sensation washed over her, as if her entire body was about to dissolve and fall apart.

Her consciousness suddenly sank. She felt her foot find no purchase, and in an instant, she was plunging into an endless abyss.

The world inside the Abyss was pitch-black, yet held a strange light—a bizarre perspective that was both dim and bright.

In the dim light, Ox-Head and Ma Mian grinned foolishly. Ghosts shrieked from a wok of boiling oil. Rats dragged pumpkins through tunnels, and inside the pumpkins, members of the Human Race snored away. Ghostly soldiers lifted a giant insect and instantly tore it to pieces...

At that exact moment, however, Song Ciwan felt a piercing pain that cut to the very bone.

It was as if she wasn't watching some giant insect from the Abyss get torn to pieces—it was happening to her!

On the verge of utter terror, she looked up and saw that the Eldest Princess was already through the corridor.

Song Ciwan's feet stepped off the last floorboard of the corridor. Just like that, she was back in the real world, having left that bizarre, time-twisted realm behind.

The Eldest Princess turned back, giving Song Ciwan a slightly surprised look.

Within Song Ciwan's Sea of Consciousness, the Samadhi True Fire swayed gently.

With the Calmness Fire protecting her mind, she offered the Eldest Princess a faint smile.

The Eldest Princess quickly cried out, "Oh my!" and took Song Ciwan's arm again. Her voice was bright and clear. "Oh, look at me, so worried about that little monster I almost neglected our honored guest. Don't be offended, Little Sister Song. My third sister isn't a bad person, she just has a hard time controlling herself sometimes."

She said in a tone that was half complaint, half indulgence, "I mean, you'd think she could hold back a little on her own wedding day, right?"

Song Ciwan replied, "Some things can be endured. Others are simply beyond one's control."

Those words struck a chord with the Eldest Princess. "Isn't that the truth!" she said, nodding repeatedly. "That's why I say you're the most considerate one, Little Sister Song!"

A smile returned to her face as she held Song Ciwan's arm.

The door was pushed open, and Song Ciwan followed the Eldest Princess into what seemed to be a combination sitting room and bedroom.

It was a sitting room-bedroom because the room was enormous and filled with all kinds of exotic flowers. Their fragrance was overpowering. At a glance, it looked less like a living space and more like a conservatory.

And yet, in this conservatory-like room, stood an enormous bed, at least three meters wide and five meters long.

A golden figure lay on its side on the great bed. Upon closer inspection, the woman's skin was golden, and she was draped in golden gauze, making it difficult to tell at first which was more brilliantly gold—her skin or the fabric.

The golden woman's upper body was human, but her lower half was a thick, fleshy, worm-like tail!

The fleshy tail poked out from beneath the golden gauze. At its base was an opening from which golden, fleshy balls were being produced without end.

Although Song Ciwan had mentally prepared herself, repeatedly telling herself to remain unfazed no matter what she saw, the scene before her still managed to render her speechless for a moment.

'No, "speechless" doesn't quite cover it. More accurately, for a moment, I felt I had overestimated my own imagination and underestimated the sheer strangeness of this world.'

Countless golden, fleshy balls rolled and rumbled across the sitting room floor, almost completely submerging it.

The Eldest Princess sighed in resignation. She lifted her foot and casually kicked aside a fleshy ball blocking her path, chiding, "Third Sister, you're really something else. In this state, are you even planning to get married when the auspicious hour arrives?"

A pink blush spread across the Third Princess's golden face. Lying on her side with her head propped on one hand, she said in a lazy, intoxicated-sounding voice, "Eldest Sister, I'm just so happy today. I can't help it."

As she spoke, another fleshy ball emerged from under her enormous tail with a soft PLOP.

The fleshy ball rolled into the world of countless Golden Balls, disappearing in an instant like a drop of water into the ocean, impossible to tell apart from the others.

'Neither the Third Princess nor the Eldest Princess seemed to care about these fleshy balls. Even though the Third Princess was "giving birth," she could produce so many "children" in an instant—'

'—and with so many children, who could possibly cherish them?'

But the Eldest Princess's next move made Song Ciwan realize that these "children" weren't just common; they were practically worthless.

The Eldest Princess raised her voice slightly. "Someone, attend me!"

A crowd of serving maids flooded in from outside the door.

The Eldest Princess frowned. "You little minxes. Your Third Princess is in here giving birth, and what do you do? You all run outside. You were active enough when you called for me, so why didn't you leave someone inside to clean up these Golden Hawthorns?"

The serving maids, surprisingly unafraid of the Eldest Princess, just crowded together and chattered all at once. "Eldest Princess, the Third Princess wouldn't let us stay inside!"

"Eldest Princess, we couldn't help it..."

"Never mind," the Eldest Princess said. "Just hurry up and come in, and sweep all of these things away. No need to wait for the banquet to begin. Take them out and give ten to every guest."

With just a few words, she had arranged for the disposal of the Golden Balls covering the floor. The serving maids rushed into the sitting room, and each produced her personal Storage Treasure—a small basin, a little gourd, or something similar—and began scooping up the Golden Balls from the floor.

The Eldest Princess also took matters into her own hands. From the ocean of Golden Balls, she selected the ten largest. With a lift of her hand, these ten great Golden Balls were drawn up to float in mid-air.

Then, she pushed the ten great Golden Balls toward Song Ciwan.

The Eldest Princess beamed. "Little Sister Song, these Golden Hawthorns are a local specialty of ours. You're an honored guest, so it's only right that you receive the ten best. Please, take them."

Song Ciwan...

'Every time I think this world has reached its limit, it manages to become even more surreal.'
