Chapter 195: Chapter 125: Taste
A Maoyue-branded Rolls-Royce weaved through the streets of Shanghai. Looking at the city from beneath the car’s starlight headliner was a completely different experience from seeing it from a public bus.
The former revealed the city’s dazzling opulence.
The latter, its harsh reality.
Inside the car, Yasuo sat in the passenger seat, his eyes fixed forward. The driver, however, couldn’t help but occasionally glance in the rearview mirror at Young Master Su, who was surrounded by women in the back.
’So envious, jealous, and hateful.’
’The daily love life of a rich kid at the pinnacle of the Ivory Tower.’
’It was a life someone like him could never even dream of. Any one of those three gorgeous, exquisite women was someone he couldn’t afford to marry, not even in his wildest dreams.’
It takes all sorts to make a world. Some people struggle just to get by, while others are born to enjoy life.
The Rolls-Royce pulled into a parking spot at the airport. The driver and Yasuo helped with the luggage, while Liu Jinyu gently shook Su Ran, who was resting on her shoulder. "Honey, wake up."
Su Ran opened his eyes and gazed into Liu Jinyu’s. She understood immediately. They hadn’t had a chance to be properly intimate during this get-together, a frustrating situation for any couple. It was just like last time on the yacht—right when they were in the middle of it, the power went out and the other women started knocking on the door, completely ruining the mood.
Liu Jinyu glanced at her friends getting out of the car, then whispered to Su Ran, "Feeling an itch?"
"Yeah, a little."
A couple’s feelings naturally deepen with time—and with physical intimacy. A sexless love wouldn’t last. Besides, Liu Jinyu was also quite eager to... *ahem*... with her man.
"...What if I don’t go back to Chongqing? I could go with you to Yiren’s hometown."
"Forget it. If you go, Aina will just tag along, and we’ll never get a chance."
Liu Jinyu let out a soft laugh. ’It was true.’ Why was it so hard for them to get some private, intimate time together?
"What if... later, in the VIP lounge, you..."
"No way. Mouths are for eating."
"..."
"Oh," Su Ran said, his expression full of disappointment.
"You... you... that’s enough!" Liu Jinyu couldn’t stand it when Su Ran put on his cute, puppy-dog act. It was her greatest weakness. "You’re impossible! Just get out of the car. We’ll talk later."
After getting out of the car and walking into the airport, Liu Jinyu started rummaging through her purse.
Xie Yiren: "What are you looking for?"
Liu Jinyu: "My ID? Where did it go?"
Aina: "You didn’t forget it, did you?"
Su Ran: "You really can’t find it?"
Liu Jinyu: "I think I really did forget it. Crap, it must be back at the hotel. We still have an hour, I’ll go back and look for it."
Su Ran: "I’ll go with you. If you can’t find it, we’ll just book the next flight."
Liu Jinyu: "Okay, that works. Bye, Aina! Yiren, just wait here for a bit."
With that, she grabbed Su Ran’s hand and they hurried away.
Xie Yiren and Aina: ??? ’Somehow, it doesn’t feel like they’re going to look for an ID...’
...
An hour later, after seeing Liu Jinyu off, Su Ran ran back to Yiren, panting. "I’m back."
Xie Yiren rolled her eyes at him. "Just looking for an ID, huh? Your precious Jinyu managed to change her entire outfit, and you’ve got a hickey on your neck. So annoying. You two run off to have your fun and leave me here waiting like an idiot. You’re both so shameless."
"Er... sorry to keep you waiting. Let’s go."
"Don’t touch me. I don’t want the hand that was all over Liu Jinyu to touch me."
Oof.
With a look of disgust, Xie Yiren turned and hurried toward the boarding gate.
Su Ran followed with a wry smile.
They boarded the plane. Before turning off his phone...
Xie Yiren peeked at the last messages between Su Ran and Liu Jinyu on his screen.
Liu Jinyu: [You’re incredible. Next time, you have to be a little gentler with me, okay?]
Reading the message, Xie Yiren hissed, "That bitch! Disgusting! Shameless! How is that any different from something a slut would say?"
Su Ran turned off his phone and looked at Xie Yiren. She looked like she wanted to stuff that "little bitch" Liu Jinyu into a pig cage and drown her.
"You’re disgusting, too! Hmph!" Xie Yiren added, lumping Su Ran into her scolding before turning to look out the window.
The Boeing jet taxied and took off, soaring into a pale pink cloud in the sky.
Not long after takeoff, an exhausted Su Ran fell asleep. Xie Yiren asked a flight attendant for a blanket and draped it over him.
Unconsciously, his head came to rest on Xie Yiren’s shoulder. Yiren didn’t seem to mind. She glanced at him before returning to her magazine.
A little while later, Su Ran was sleeping soundly. His head slid limply from her shoulder into her lap. ’What a comfortable pillow.’
The baby-faced Xie Yiren bit her lip, embarrassed. She stole a glance at the nearby passengers and flight attendants, then gently shook Su Ran. "Su Ran... Su Ran, wake up. Don’t sleep there... Su Ran..."
But he was too exhausted to be woken.
He felt a yielding softness, and it was as if he could hear the faint sound of waves rocking beside his ear.
’No man had ever used her chest as a pillow before. And now Su Ran got to be the first. So annoying! Hmph.’
A flight attendant walking past glanced over at them but wasn’t surprised. They just looked like a young couple, the boyfriend having fallen asleep in his girlfriend’s lap.
Eventually, Xie Yiren gave up and let him be.
After he had been sleeping for a long time, the plane hit a patch of turbulence. The jolt caused Su Ran’s head to fall away from her, and Xie Yiren breathed a sigh of relief.
The turbulence woke Su Ran. He rubbed his eyes and stretched lazily.
Xie Yiren asked with a deadpan expression, "Did Young Master Su have a nice nap?"
Rubbing his neck, Su Ran wore the blissful expression of someone who had just woken from a deep sleep. "That’s the first time I’ve ever slept so well on a plane. The pillow was surprisingly soft. I even had a dream...唔... I dreamt I was a little kid again, lying in my mother’s arms."
The corner of Xie Yiren’s mouth twitched. "Then you might as well call me Mom."
"Hey, don’t try to take advantage of the situation, Xie Yiren."
Seeing Su Ran’s mock-indignant expression, Xie Yiren’s temper flared.
"You have the nerve to say I’m taking advantage of you? Have you no shame?"
"What’s wrong?" Su Ran scratched his head, looking completely baffled. Then he noticed a wet spot on her t-shirt and pulled out a tissue for her. "You’re a grown woman and you’re still spilling water on yourself? Here, wipe it off."
