Even from afar, he was able to see the unknown man’s appearance.

Black hair. Black eyes. A golden robe woven with dragon patterns.

He looked ordinary, yet strangely majestic.

But this was not what attracted the War God’s attention, much less what made him so fearful.

What he cared about was the vast amounts of essence—that of his victims—pouring into the man’s body. More importantly, the result of this process.

At a speed visible to the naked eye, the man’s strength soared.

He had long stood at Rank 11.

Now, he advanced even further.

Within moments, his strength had soared to the peak of Rank 11, looking ready to advance even further.

He seemed to face no bottlenecks.

Unfortunately for him, the essence he had absorbed seemed far from enough to supply his advancement.

Thankfully, he didn’t have to think for long about where to obtain the rest of it.

The man’s indifferent eyes landed on the battlefield. Another giant hand condensed and struck down with all its strength.

The sequence of events sounded complicated and cumbersome, yet everything happened in an instant.

From the unknown man’s arrival to his killing of a large number of Emperors and his subsequent attack, less than a moment had gone by.

Few had time to react.

Fortunately, those who did happened to be the strongest individuals among them.

War God. Cosmos Emperor. Heaven Emperor.

Even the Mechanical Emperor who had previously conversed with Anderleck.

Facing the attack of the man, they decided to use their strongest trump cards without needing to reach an agreement.

Only a single powerhouse remained stunned.

It was Anderleck.

Reverence was written all over his face as he stared at the man. Though an Emperor, he seemed ready to fall to his knees and pray piously.

Even so, he was quite surprised.

He couldn’t understand why His Majesty had suddenly awakened, let alone why he had taken action and targeted the cultivators too.

It was only a brief moment later, when he examined the man closer and sensed his aura, that he seemed to have realized something.

His Majesty... was too weak.

Although Rank 11 sounded terrifying, it was nothing considering the other person’s status and original strength.

It seemed that the awakening process had not gone as well as expected.

It was no wonder His Majesty was the only one who had emerged from the golden palace while the other troops were nowhere to be seen.

Countless thoughts raced through Anderleck’s mind.

But in an instant, he made a decision.

He didn’t try to resist His Majesty’s attack.

Instead, facing the constantly descending palm, he shouted:

"Everyone! His Majesty has returned!"

"Let’s help him fully recover!"

The moment the last word fell, Anderleck was the first to take action.

His body took off and soared into the sky.

He was completely defenseless even as he approached the threatening giant palm.

He was far from the only one.

As soon as the cultivators processed Anderleck’s words, they all made the same exact decision.

They flew toward the palm in unison.

"For His Majesty!"

"For the Emperor!"

"May the Empire shine once again!"

Reverent shouts left their mouths, creating a chorus of what seemed like battle cries.

Had Liora been here to witness this, she would have been stunned.

Cultivators were transcendent, known for their thirst for freedom and hatred of rules and boundaries.

Both the legends in the Cosmic Universe and her findings in the ancient city had already confirmed this.

The attitude these troops displayed was the complete opposite, however.

Not only did they accept their death, but they even seemed to welcome it.

It was as though dying for His Majesty was a gift rather than a punishment. If they had the chance, they would have chosen to do so long ago.

The surrounding powerhouses cursed inwardly.

They understood very well what the cultivators’ purpose was.

Unfortunately, they had no chance to stop them.

They had to use their trump cards just to resist.

How could they have the time to save these cultivators too?

In what seemed like years but was actually a moment later, the enormous palm finally crashed down.

It swept toward both the rioting cultivators and the Apex Civilizations’ Awakeners.

However, it couldn’t go far before it faced some resistance.

Under the combined power of the powerhouses’ trump cards, the hand’s descent slowed down, letting the ordinary Awakeners retreat.

However, none of the Emperors here were happy.

They knew they had already been defeated upon glancing at the man.

Wisps of Emperor essence surrounded his figure, flowing into his body through his pores and elevating his strength.

It was the essence of his own people. The last survivors of an ancient civilization.

Perhaps because of that, the man’s advancement was even faster than before.

With a faint click, his aura broke through to a completely new level.

He had taken a leap forward, reaching the true peak of the Cosmic Universe.

Rank 12!

An even more powerful momentum spread with him as the center, resonating with the entire ancient city beneath his feet.

Whether it was the ruined buildings or the golden palace, they trembled, as though they wished to become part of him.

The fluctuation only lasted for a split second.

Then, everything returned to how things were.

The man maintained an indifferent expression.

He had not spoken a single word since his arrival and seemed intent on keeping it that way.

His expression only subtly shifted when he stared at the golden palace. However, whatever emotion it was vanished when he turned his attention back to the present Era’s powerhouses.

As always, he didn’t say a single word.

Another palm condensed above his head.

The earlier palms were already enough to kill Emperors based solely on the blow’s aftermath.

Following his advance, this blow had become even more terrifying.

The palm seemed to encompass the entire ancient city, as though the Will of the World was reaching down to grasp the entire city.

The few intact buildings all burst apart.

The weaker Emperors who had been lucky enough to survive until now soon faced the same fate.

Within moments, only the strongest Emperors remained.

Yet danger was far from over.
