Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress
Chapter 694: Nova Terra Planet’s SecretsLiora lightly shook her head.
She understood very well that the Venerables and Emperors were not investing in the Planet Lord, so they didn’t care about wasting some resources.
These people were investing in her.
By using resources to help Nova Terra and its residents develop, they hoped to carry favor with her.
The resources needed to elevate an Awakener to Rank 6 were worthless in front of such a grand matter.
Countless thoughts raced through Liora’s mind, though she didn’t spend much time dwelling on them.
After a few seconds, she secretly descended onto Nova Terra.
She didn’t inform anyone of her arrival, whether it was the Dean or the Planet Lord.
With a thought, her body flashed, appearing outside a familiar city.
Tall, futuristic buildings. Wide, packed streets. Powerful Awakeners in both the land and the sky.
Just like the rest of the planet, this city was also different from when Liora had last seen it.
Even so, the sense of familiarity did not completely disappear. She could still sense a familiar flavor beneath the magnificent appearance.
Liora made her way through the streets.
With her strength, there was no reason for her to do so. She could arrive anywhere on the planet, or even in the galaxy, with just a thought.
Yet she didn’t.
Instead, she slowly walked through like an ordinary person, observing the surrounding pedestrians and the vehicles passing by.
It was the first time in a while that she had spent her time like this. Ever since her arrival in this world, she had been constantly seeking to strengthen herself.
Although the Cosmic Universe was far more peaceful than the Demon World, Liora’s "intense routine" had not changed in the slightest.
The present moment was a rare moment of peace.
Unfortunately, she didn’t have the chance to enjoy this state for long.
Shortly afterward, she finally reached her destination.
A mansion.
For ordinary people, it was a relatively well-off building, large enough for a family to live in.
For Awakeners, especially those in the higher Ranks, however, the mansion was extremely small.
One wrong move and it would be left in ruins. Not only the building, but even the city as a whole.
Liora lightly shook her head. Reaching into the Cosmic Sea, her consciousness wrapped around the pile of miscellaneous items and took out a digital key.
Then, she unlocked the door, walked into the mansion, and then closed it behind her.
The moment she stepped inside, the sense of familiarity she had previously sensed became even more prominent.
Nothing had changed inside the building.
It was perhaps the only place in all of Nova Terra that had remained unchanged despite the planet’s rapid development.
For no other reason than that it was Liora’s property.
Although she clearly did not care about it, neither the Planet Lord nor the other native Awakeners dared to touch it without her permission.
Liora shook her head, choosing not to comment on their thoughts.
With practiced familiarity, she wandered through the mansion’s corridors, soon finding herself in the practice room.
She waved her hand to clear the dust and then sat down.
For a moment, the present seemed to overlap with the past.
It was in this place that her journey in this world had begun, with her altering the Cosmic Energy Refinement Technique to create what would later become the Cosmic Devouring Technique and then the cornerstone of the Cosmic Sea.
It took some time before Liora forcefully brought herself back to reality.
She had not come here merely to reminisce about the past. She had a goal in mind.
Seated in the practice room, she closed her eyes.
Under her delicate control, her consciousness spread.
From the room to the building, to the city, to the planet, and then beyond it.
Within mere moments, Liora’s consciousness had enveloped several galaxies with her as the center.
Just as it seemed that it would expand further, though, it suddenly began to shrink.
The galaxies soon disappeared from her perception. Before long, only the planet itself remained encased in it.
This didn’t mean that Liora had restrained her consciousness, however. If anything, it was the opposite.
She urged her consciousness with her full strength, concentrating its full might on this tiny planet.
Every building, every tile, every inch of the planet was searched through. Her consciousness dug into the deepest layers of space, investigating them thoroughly.
Her purpose was clear.
She strongly suspected that this planet hid unknown secrets.
She might not have thought so in the past. Yet after tracing back through her timeline and seeing Anna’s interference with her birth, she believed that this planet was special.
"My birth itself was not coincidental at all..."
"Whether it was Anna or the mysterious power suspected to belong to the Will of the Cosmic Universe, they have obviously interfered with my arrival in this world."
"How could the place where I ’landed’ not be special?" Liora muttered as her consciousness slowly swept through Nova Terra.
She didn’t miss a single spot.
Yet her consciousness, which should have been enough to see through every secret in this universe, was unable to find anything noteworthy.
It was as though the planet was indeed ordinary and everything was her illusion.
Thankfully, Liora would not be fooled this easily.
"It would be strange if I were able to find anything immediately."
"There are so many powerful beings in this world. If the uniqueness of this planet could be discovered so easily, they would have found it long ago."
With this thought, Liora decided to use her greatest advantage.
In terms of sheer strength, there ought to be more powerful people than her. Likewise, her reconnaissance abilities had never been extraordinary among opponents of the same level.
However, there was one thing in which no other being in this universe could compete with her.
Her control over time!
The moment that thought arose, Liora’s eyes narrowed.
An illusory river flashed within her crimson pupils as her mind traced its connection with her Throne.
The next instant, her vision rapidly shifted.
"Sure enough!" A soft whisper echoed a moment later.
