Chapter 261: Ch-261: Spar (1)"Divine Rank," Victor whispered as his heart hammered in his chest. This was the first time he had seen a Divine Rank item. He had heard rumors of some NPCs having Divine Rank items and skills in his past life from some players, but he had never seen one in person until today.
Hiss.
Victor then looked at the skills and effects of the weapon and sucked in a cold breath.
"Darling, what kind of Soul Weapon is that? My entire Bloodline is warning me to stay as far away from that weapon as possible." Victor’s eyes moved from the screen to Amber, who had a pale face and was looking at the scythe with fear. He looked around and saw that the other demons also did not have good expressions as they shot wary and nervous looks at the scythe in Victor’s hand.
"Indeed, even I am curious. If you don’t mind, can you show me the details?" Alaric said. He was much calmer than the others, but he still shot a cautious look at the weapon and then at Victor.
"Mm, sure." Victor shrugged his shoulders as he did not sense anything malicious from the the Royal Family, and they were the ones who gave him the opportunity to obtain this weapon, so he felt awkward if he did not answer.
Victor then immediately shared the information about the weapon on their system panels.
As soon as Amber and the demons looked at the description and effects, their pupils contracted, and they had looks of horror as they broke into a cold sweat.
"What, a Divine Rank weapon?" Maria’s jaw dropped to the ground as she saw the rank of the weapon. Everyone else was also shocked and surprised, but what made their skin crawl was the effect of the weapon on Night Creatures.
"Fuck, what kind of vicious weapon is this..." Even Alaric could not help but curse, as this was the first time he had seen a weapon so precisely designed to target creatures of Night like the demons.
’Just who or what in the heavens could create such a vicious weapon... It’s good that it’s in Victor’s hands. If it were in the hands of a sadistic Warlock of the past, then...’ Alaric did not dare imagine it.
"Darling, you should keep this weapon as far away from me as possible," Amber said with a strained smile as she looked at Victor and shot a look of disgust toward the scythe in Victor’s hand.
"Victor, do you want to come with me? I know a place where devils sometimes gather," Jack said with excitement as he wanted to almost drag Victor with him.
"..." Maria.
"..." Alaric.
"Tsk," Seraphina.
"Holy," Amber.
"So vicious," Victor.
Everyone looked at Jack with all kinds of thoughts, but he ignored them and kept his eyes fixed on Victor. Before Victor could reply, Seraphina cut him off.
"Not happening. He promised to spar with me," Seraphina said, and Victor was dumbfounded.
’When did I agree? Why don’t I remember?’
"Just don’t use that. You can use another Soul Weapon," Seraphina said, ignoring her sulking brother.
"Actually, I also want to test the power of your two Soul Weapons, especially the scythe." Suddenly, Alaric stepped forward and told them.
"What, you want to test this monstrosity?" Jack looked at his father in disbelief and pointed at Victor. Even Victor was a bit shocked.
"What do you say, Victor?" Alaric said, looking at Victor. The others also looked at him, waiting for his answer.
"Eh, sure, why not?" Victor said with a shrug.
"Tsk." Seraphina clicked her tongue, and then her eyes swept across the room and fell on Amber, and a smile appeared on her face. "Amber, how about we both spar? Don’t you want to test your new Soul Weapon?"
Amber, who was planning to test her weapon later, had her eyes light up when she heard this and immediately accepted. "Sure, this is going to be fun."
"Excellent, let’s go to the training field," Maria said as she clapped her hands.
---
About fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the training grounds, which were filled with people.
"This is training? It doesn’t look like it. It seems more like a warzone," Valerie said with her eyebrows raised, as she could see many buildings had been destroyed by their clashes, and there was blood and flesh on the ground.
"Damn! He died!" Valerie suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
On the stage, one of the fighters had decapitated his opponent.
Seraphina chuckled at her reaction and said, "Don’t worry, he’s not really dead."
A few moments later, the ’dead’ fighter suddenly disappeared from the stage and appeared outside the stage with his head reattached to his body, and the person himself looked perfectly healthy.
Not only that, the blood and flesh on the ground started to twitch as a huge light erupted from beneath the ground, and the blood merged together to form living humans again. Even the damage to the surroundings had vanished.
"There’s a formation in these arenas. As long as you stand on it, even if your body is destroyed, you will not truly die. This allows the fighters to go all out against each other. However, you will not be able to enter the stage for one week if you die, because your body can only handle so much of the formation. If you die twice in a short time, the formation might not work properly," she explained to him. "And another formation is there to restore damage to the surroundings."
"Amazing." Valerie was completely astonished and wondered if she could set up a similar formation in her guild training hall to train members.
"They seem to be very talented," Rina said, looking at the demons.
"Of course they are. They have been handpicked and will enroll, or are already enrolled, in the Royal Academy to become royal guards in the future, and the crown funds them entirely, as most of them are orphans," Maria said.
They went closer to the arena, took a seat, and watched the spar below.
"Look! It’s the Royal Family! Good morning, Your Highnesses!"
When someone noticed their presence and announced it, everyone there turned to bow to them, and even the fighters on the stage stopped fighting momentarily just to bow.
"Princess Seraphina, are you here to fight today? There is a line of people waiting to exchange blows with you!" one of the judges suddenly said to her.
"You seem very popular," Victor said with a raised eyebrow as he looked at Seraphina.
"Hmph, more like a battle maniac," Jack said with a snort, completely ignoring his sister’s glare.
One would expect a graceful princess like Seraphina to avoid such things, but to everyone’s surprise, she loved to fight and explore, and she was a regular at the training grounds.
Not only that, but she also accepted fights from anyone, no matter their background. Of course, she had yet to experience a single defeat in the royal training grounds.
A crazy, bloodthirsty smile appeared on her face as she jumped to her feet, and an aura of pure fighting intent erupted from her, which caused Wang Ming to be surprised.
"She really likes fighting?" Victor asked with a raised eyebrow. Her expression and the smile on her face were similar to the battle maniacs Victor had encountered in the past.
"Yeah, a bit too much," Alaric said with a strained smile.
"Instructor, I will go down to the arena first."
"Great, I will fight the princess." A handsome young man stepped onto the field before anyone could react and looked at Seraphina with pure fighting intent.
"Damn, what a sneaky guy."
"I was a step too late."
"I wanted to fight the princess."
"Yeah, it’s been so long since we got to spar with the princess."
Everyone started to voice their displeasure and looked at the person on the stage with envy, but he remained unfazed by the crowd.
"Oh, he looks new," Seraphina said with a raised eyebrow, as she recognized almost everyone there since she had fought all of them.
"He is a top student. He has stayed in the Royal School for one year, which caught the eye of the instructor, and was sent here directly to be trained under the royal trainers," the instructor explained.
"Princess, go for it."
"Go for it!"
"Princess, we know you are very strong. Hurry up and finish the match, hahaha."
"Yeah, we also want to fight. Beat him quickly."
The group of students and recruits trusted Seraphina and cheered her on.
There were also those who urged Seraphina to finish the match quickly so they could fight her.
Just as the student was about to attack, he saw a fist in front of his head and started seeing stars.
"Tch, weakling," Seraphina said, and no one was surprised. She then looked towards Amber and shouted, "Amber, come down here. I challenge you."
Amber raised an eyebrow and gracefully jumped onto the stage.
