Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 79: Send in all of our Elite Troops now!The supreme elder dragon blurred from the spot, closing the distance between them in that instant, but before he could throw his fist at Kaelen, who hadn’t moved an inch from the spot, a thunderstorm of differently coloured lightning descended like heavenly retribution, falling directly on the spot where Kaelen stood.
The supreme elder dragon’s fist stopped mid-air, inches from Kaelen’s face, and, like time regression, he retreated his fist and leaped away a split second before the storm of lightning collided around Kaelen, blinding everything around it with its divine light as it exploded outwards, crackling with deadly bolts as thick as tree trunks.
The supreme elder dragon’s eyes widened as the lightning storm arrived before him in an instant.
Wings immediately sprouted from his back, and a single swing was enough to carry him several feet backwards, away from the thunderstorm focused on the spot where Kaelen had stood.
Through the blinding lights and thick bolts, he could see Kaelen’s silhouette on the receiving end of his own skill.
His lips curled up.
The human thought he could trick him again, this time into attacking him and getting locked in the suicidal lightning storm. But he proved to be smarter this time.
Just like the old saying:
Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on me.
The lightning storm soon dispersed, leaving a thick smoke cloud and a figure crouched in the wide crater around the skill’s range.
That was when the supreme elder dragon noticed something off and immediately narrowed his eyes at the human.
Though the human had been badly electrocuted, only his shirt had been ripped to shreds, revealing his unscathed arms and torso, now crackling with lightning bolts as Kaelen strengthened his back. His gray eyes glowed like each of them was containing a thunderstorm of its own behind them.
The supreme elder dragon frowned as he used his special skill to examine Kaelen, only for his eyes to widen in shock and disbelief.
Instead of the enemy receiving damage, their strength had been multiplied more times than he could count.
He hadn’t been tricked at all.
The lightning storm was never meant for him, and the reason the human didn’t flinch from his attack was simply because he’d predicted he would decide to retreat before his attack landed.
How was that possible?
Was he that predictable?
Who was this human?!
"ROARRRRR!!!" He roared in rage. "IMPOSSIBLE!"
The supreme elder dragon blurred from the spot as he charged towards Kaelen. This time, he didn’t just plan on using his fist and moved all the heat and mana in his body towards his arms and knuckles.
He appeared before Kaelen in an instant and threw his fist forward, the air warping around his punch.
At the same time, Kaelen didn’t sit around and moved all the lightning damage he’d absorbed into his body through the [Conductor Slime] attribute, then threw his fist out towards the supreme elder dragon as well.
Their fists collided with each other’s jaws.
Booom—!!
A massive shockwave swept across the floor from the impact, sending both parties flying in opposite directions and into the walls.
The supreme dragon’s eyes widened in shock as he spat out golden blood and watched a tooth fly out of his mouth.
"ROARRRRR!!" He roared in rage and burst out of his crater.
Two explosions came simultaneously from the crash sites, and the two figures appeared before each other once more with their fists flying.
This time, their fists collided with each other a thousand times in a second, creating several shockwaves that shook the floor to its core as the two figures blurred across the place like light phantoms, leaving afterimages everywhere they clashed.
Meanwhile...
Across the seven surviving strongholds, everyone’s eyes were glued to the screen, with their eyeballs moving all over the place, trying to keep track of the ongoing battle because it was still being live-streamed.
The entire cleanup team had been wiped out. The entire advance team had been wiped out too. But the one person who survived the entire ordeal... was the man tasked with capturing the expedition in real time.
The cameraman.
When the cleanup team was wiped out, he was with the advance team, who protected him. And when the advance team was wiped out, he’d run back to the hidden path they took to bypass the entire ruins, where he was momentarily safe, until he began hearing the sounds of an epic battle and mustered the courage to step out once more, to witness it for himself and record it for the entire world.
He was there the whole time. Invisible.
In a mansion at the heart of Stronghold 1, the Emperor was in his study, watching the battle with a long face and an ugly expression. Even his eyes could barely keep up with the battle, even while watching at 0.2× speed.
"I-Is this really the man that has been causing a stir across Evolution Online?" His secretary blurted in shock and disbelief beside him. "He’s so strong. With such strength, he could easily rival any of the stronghold lords."
The Emperor’s expression darkened. "What the hell are you even doing here?!" He roared at the woman. "You should be looking for him."
"I-I’m so sorry, sir. But his whereabouts are still a mystery—" The woman paused when a notification rang on her tablet.
She quickly checked to see what it was, and her eyes widened in surprise. "Sir, we’ve found him. We tracked his location from the hangar he landed in a few days ago, and we have the coordinates to the hotel he’s staying at. But his room is still unknown to us."
"Why do you need his room?! Send our men into that hotel, lock down the place, and don’t let anyone leave before you search the entire building room by room. He’s inside the game and can’t escape now." The Emperor ordered.
"Yes, sir." The secretary stepped aside to make a call.
As soon as it connected, she said, "The Emperor has given his orders. Lock down the building and send in our troops with immediate effect." Then she paused and covered the mic area of the phone to turn to the Emperor.
"H-How many men should we send in?" She asked hesitantly.
"Do you have a death wish? All of them. Send in all of our elite troops now!" He slammed his desk in fury.
At the same time, as the sky darkened over the chaotic stronghold and the sun retreated for the night, several shadowy figures could be seen leaping across rooftops in several locations.
