When Kaelen spread the parchment, he was pleasantly surprised to see it wasn’t just a quest map. The entire parchment was covered in fog, except across the mountain and forest he’d been to. The city below, where Kaelen had wanted to sell his loot, was also free, but beyond it was thick fog that didn’t reveal anything, making him understand just what kind of map it was.

But most importantly, there was a single red X on the map that marked the location of a hidden class quest, and a black dot that corresponded with the exact spot Kaelen stood, with an uneven path of tiny dots connecting him with the crimson X on the map. Kaelen felt a rush of excitement. He had been hoping to meet beasts on a different level of strength here, but never had it crossed his mind that he would have the chance to meet a dragon instead.

He was moving so fast that he couldn’t stop himself in time before he had gone far beyond the area, now standing at the shore of a vast body of water completely on the other side of the mountain.

He was momentarily stunned before he laughed out in excitement and zoomed forward once more, returning to the area where he had previously been in the forest.

He appeared before his prey in an instant. This time, he calculated the distance and screeched to a halt before he arrived at his target, appearing right before it.

The wolf could barely react when his blade-whips danced through the air, and it was instantly decapitated.

The area was crawling with fearsome wolves. Not the Tier 0 wolf pack he had fought at the outset, but ones heavily dominated by Tier 2s.

That still didn’t make a difference for Kaelen, who was a Tier 3 Slime with all his evolution attributes exceeding Level 100, which was the maximum for Tier 2 Lifeforms.

His speed was also formidable, making him a blur and a nightmare to the wolves. They could barely see what was attacking them and had to set their differences aside to form a temporary alliance to take him down.

But the battle remained one-sided, with thirty wolves up against countless blade-whips and an enemy who was constantly changing positions to maintain the upper hand.

The birds soared into the air in great numbers, and the nearby beasts all began charging down the mountain in fear for their lives as the battle between an unidentified slime and several more beasts raged.

Just as some beasts ran in the opposite direction, others ran towards the battle, thinking it was a hidden boss event and wanting a piece of the pie.

Over 20 players were live-streaming the battle, which caused a chain reaction and made the streams the top-grossing clips across the forum, drawing countless viewers who debated in the raging chat whether the enemy was a slime. The same hidden slime boss no one believed had wiped out Kingslayer of the Night’s Honour Guild party.

But none of the live streams lasted 10 seconds before the streamer was dead, forcing the audience to constantly move between players’ streams and perspectives.

Meanwhile...

It was chaos in the city below the mountain. Several players could be seen trooping out in groups, just as many of those who had run from the mountain were trooping into the city for safety.

The livestream had become so popular that it was the latest gist in the city, and a lot of players who were confident in their abilities wanted to challenge this mysterious hidden slime boss, while others simply went for the purpose of live-streaming the battle to boost their social media view counts.

Black Rose was at her guild’s mansion in the city, in a meeting discussing the purpose of buying the entire city to find the rumored dragon’s lair buried somewhere around the city centuries ago.

Other guilds had laughed at her for splurging such an amount of money to buy an entire city over a simple rumored dragon’s lair, but she didn’t think it was just a rumor at all.

Because what she never told anyone was that she had a fragmented map to a hidden class quest that led her straight to the city.

"What kind of hidden boss?" she asked the guild member.

The guild member hesitated for a moment. "I-I’m not sure. But I heard from some players in the city that..." He slowly raised his head to look Black Rose in the eyes.

"It’s a Slime!"
