Evolution Online: My 10,000× Reward System Multiplies Everything
Chapter 94: Heavenly Gourmet CauldronIt wasn’t one, but two items that completely stood out from the piles of loot.
One of his shadow summons who were organizing the loot had tried to pick them up when it hesitated and kept glancing between the items and Kaelen, making Kaelen decide to step forward to see what these items were.
As soon as he saw the first item, his brows shot up in surprise.
"Is that... a pot?"
It was a black cauldron, exuding an indescribable aura that had swept across the castle earlier.
Kaelen was momentarily stunned before he decided to pick up the large cauldron to inspect it. The moment his fingers touched its surface, a strange energy surged through his body, and a system prompt appeared in his vision.
[Heavenly Gourmet Cauldron: A Supreme Cauldron that possesses perfect understanding of alchemical principles.
Upon binding with its owner, the cauldron establishes a permanent connection with the owner’s System and automatically restores fragmented memories related to alchemy, allowing the owner to recall countless lost formulas that should have been impossible for them to know.
These formulas include unique, rare, legendary, mythical, divine, and supreme recipes for pills, potions, elixirs, poisons, catalysts, medicines, bloodline essences, evolution resources, and other consumable creations.
As long as the owner possesses all required ingredients for a registered recipe and submits them to the System Gourmet, the Heavenly Gourmet Cauldron can reproduce the formula with a 99.9% success rate.]
Kaelen took his time to read the description line by line, his eyes widening in surprise the more he read.
"A Supreme Tier Gourmet Cauldron with free formulas and a 99.9% success rate?!"
[Do you wish to bind this item?]
Kaelen stared at the notification for a moment.
"Hell yeah."
Who wouldn’t want to?
The cauldron in his hand quickly dissipated and blew onto Kaelen’s face, and with it, a flood of information invaded his mind. Thousands of alchemical techniques and formulas whose effects made Kaelen’s eyes widen in surprise and disbelief.
The concept and realization of it made Kaelen excited, until a single thought crossed his mind and his mood was instantly shattered.
It was the words of the Drakaris woman telling him his reward for killing the Supreme Elder Dragon would be a Transcendant item.
The Heavenly Gourmet Cauldron was clearly a Supreme Cauldron, making it a bonus for the actual Transcendant reward Kaelen was yet to pick up.
Except, this bonus was likely what the last conqueror of the ruins had received as their prize. His father.
That information alone didn’t ring any bells, until the words of the Emperor suddenly made sense to him.
Back when he’d confronted the man, he claimed his father had received an item capable of tipping the balance of the planetary war in the favour of humanity, but decided to use it on his mother instead.
Now, that meant that whatever his father received ten years ago had been a one-time item. Kaelen’s Heavenly Gourmet Cauldron was clearly not a one-time item, but what if that was only because of the Quality-enhanced loot bundle by the 10,000× Reward Multiplier System?
If his father received a one-time Supreme Tier Gourmet Cauldron capable of crafting any alchemical substance in the universe—once, that was surely enough to give humanity a huge boost, and a valid reason for the Emperor to come back ten years later just for the opportunity to have it for himself.
Now, all these were merely Kaelen’s speculations, but the dots undeniably connected themselves the more he thought about it. In order to confirm his theory, Kaelen needed to know more about the Gourmet Cauldron in its base form, one that hadn’t been influenced by his system like his.
And as luck would have it, Kaelen had just the right person to ask.
Without a second thought, Kaelen left the treasury to his shadow summons and navigated through a flight of corridors, before descending down a flight of stairs to arrive at the bottom of the castle. The dungeon.
He moved across several dark cell rooms with iron bars, before stopping before one and standing there, staring into the shadows.
"I have some questions for you," he said calmly.
A figure slowly stepped out of the shadows, before they suddenly charged at the iron bars and began banging at them.
"This wasn’t our deal. You said if I took you through the hidden passage, I’d get to live. Why did you turn on me and lock me up here?" The dragon kin leader yelled through the iron bars.
"Aren’t you alive?" Kaelen asked, the question making her pause in disbelief. "Your answers to the questions I’m about to ask you will determine your fate in the next minute."
"I have a family, y’know? A... a very loving family who can’t live without me. My, uhh... parents would be so heartbroken if you were to kill me and I didn’t come back to them. Think about that. You can’t be that heartless." The Drakaris lady said dramatically and very unconvincingly.
"You have a family too, don’t you? How would they feel if you suddenly stepped out of the house and got abducted by this handsome otherworlder and they don’t get to see you again, huh?"
Kaelen was silent for a moment as he stared at the Drakaris.
"What’s your name?" He asked plainly.
"What? Did you not hear anything I just said?" She said and huffed a breath that blew up her bangs. "...Kenora."
"Well, Kenora. You’re right. I do have a family, which I lost ten years ago, which is why I need your answers to find out what might’ve happened to them. And I prioritize finding my family over yours, which is why there are only two ways this could go..." Kaelen said and trailed off.
Kenora’s expression seemed to soften for a split second, before she pretended not to care.
She exhaled in exasperation. "Fine. Ask away and I’ll answer to the best of my knowledge," she said nonchalantly.
"Good choice, Kenora," Kaelen said with a not-so-friendly tone. "Now, to begin, tell me everything you know about your system Gourmet Cauldron."
