Teaching a cat Tai Chi sounded absurd, yet when the words came out of Lin Haoren’s mouth, Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran couldn’t help but hold some expectations.
He could teach Oreo to do backflips on command.
Maybe teaching Oreo some Tai Chi wasn’t impossible. It might not be as difficult as they imagined, either.
After all, if Lin Haoren intended to film right after teaching Oreo Tai Chi, then he must have some confidence in succeeding.
They had no idea where his source of confidence came from, but they were certainly eager to watch.
"By the way, are you signed with any agencies?" Lin Haoren suddenly asked the two ladies.
The question surprised them, but they quickly shook their heads.
"I don’t have any fame yet, Brother Lin. Who would even know about me? Let alone want to sign me?" Su Xiaoran asked.
Lin Haoren smiled ruefully.
She didn’t have any fame, but could get a supporting role in a big production.
Some people were born with all the luck in the world.
Sigh!
Better not compare himself. He would only feel frustrated at his own incompetence. Still, he has a system now. His time will come.
Lin Haoren turned to Bai Yiyi.
"I’ve done some small gigs, but I haven’t signed with any agency either," Bai Yiyi stated.
Lin Haoren also felt this made sense.
If they had signed a contract with some big agency, they would have been assigned managers.
"In that case, do you two want to be in my short video with Oreo?" Lin Haoren suggested before quickly adding, "I’m putting this upfront. I’m too poor to pay you an appearance fee, so don’t expect anything from me."
Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran glanced at each other, momentarily dumbfounded, then laughed.
"What are you saying, Brother Lin? We’ve already mooched a meal off you. How can we still ask you for an appearance fee, especially when we are still no-name actresses?"
"Exactly, considering your channel’s viral videos, we would even be willing to pay you a sum to appear in your short video with Oreo."
"Oh?" Lin Haoren’s eyes lit up. He hurriedly asked, "How much are you willing to pay?"
Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran stared at him speechlessly.
"We were just saying, and you actually took it seriously? Aren’t you afraid of harming our friendship?" Bai Yiyi looked at Lin Haoren with aggrieved eyes.
"Nonsense, I didn’t say anything. Why are you putting words in my mouth, Sister Yiyi?" Su Xiaoran threw her under the bus.
Bai Yiyi suddenly didn’t know what to say.
Lin Haoren was immediately amused. His lips curved into a mischievous smile.
"You are both future big stars, participating in a big production. You are both rich ladies compared to poor me. If I don’t take the chance to fleece you, won’t you eat me out of the house?"
Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran blushed, recalling their behavior over dinner, especially Su Xiaoran. She was like a hungry ghost with a bottomless appetite.
Bai Yiyi suddenly laughed and said, "Alright, I won’t take advantage of you, Brother Lin."
"If you can really show me a cat using Tai Chi tonight, I’ll give you a fat red envelope," Bai Yiyi promised heartily.
"Me too!" Su Xiaoran chimed in.
Lin Haoren smiled.
Tonight’s collaboration was bound to be a win-win situation.
While Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran were still no-name actresses, their participation in his short video would allow them to ride on his current viral popularity.
However, Lin Haoren was also counting on their popularity to surge after the drama production of A Thousand Lifetimes With You.
By then, he would also benefit from their surging popularity.
"Oreo, time to work."
Lin Haoren lightly laughed, watching the tuxedo cat grumble as it lazily hopped off Su Xiaoran’s lap.
"C’mon, don’t be a lazy bum. Didn’t you like the food today? This is work that can let you enjoy more food like that in the future."
Hearing this, Oreo felt a sudden surge of motivation.
Lin Haoren snickered, seeing that it was finally in the mood to work.
"Alright, I’ll show you the essence of Tai Chi. Remember these movements."
Oreo observed Lin Haoren’s movements and absorbed everything in a single take. Its comprehension seemed absurdly high for a cat.
Only Lin Haoren knew why.
"If you understand, practice on your own. I’ll correct your mistakes."
"Huh?"
Bai Yiyi and Su Xiaoran were both confused, seeing how casually Lin Haoren taught Oreo Tai Chi.
However, a shocking sight soon took place.
Under their disbelieving gazes, the tuxedo cat actually stood on two legs, mimicking Lin Haoren’s previous Tai Chi movements.
It was far from perfect, but it was certainly hilarious to watch.
Pftt!
Bai Yiyi spat out a mouthful of water as she burst into hard laughter alongside Su Xiaoran. They had never seen something so absurd yet hilariously so.
"Hahahah! Brother Lin, your cat is way too smart! Hahaha! Help, I’m dying. This is too funny."
Su Xiaoran couldn’t stop laughing.
She held her stomach and forced herself to calm down, but her shoulders still visibly shuddered from laughter.
Bai Yiyi was much worse.
She laughed until it left her gasping for air like she was hyperventilating. It was both amusing and infectious.
Even Lin Haoren couldn’t help but laugh along, seeing them like that.
After some time, they finally managed to calm down.
However, every time the two ladies look at Oreo, they recall the old scene and break out in laughter again.
Oreo felt rather offended by this.
Oreo: Am I a joke to you?
"I’m sorry, Oreo. Please don’t hate me. I can’t help myself," Su Xiaoran sought forgiveness with intermittent chuckles.
Oreo glared at Lin Haoren, pinning the blame on him.
I treat you as my brother, but you turned me into a joke. Doesn’t your conscience hurt? Don’t I have my own pride?
Sorry, your pride really isn’t worth much.
Can it put food on the table?
Lin Haoren stifled his laughter, silently deciding to upgrade Oreo’s treatment once they had more cash on hand. Otherwise, it might rebel from the accumulated grievance.
"Brother Lin, I’m confident Oreo’s Tai Chi will blow up the internet!"
"Mm. I’m confident too."
Lin Haoren smiled.
