Lin Haoren ended his Taijiquan practice after half an hour.
At some point, Su Xiaoran had poked her head out of the bedroom to watch him. Seeing him cooling himself down with a rhythmic breathing technique, she thought about the apartment’s excellent air quality.
However, it seemed to be lacking something vital.
After looking around for a bit, she realized what Lin Haoren’s apartment was missing.
"Brother Lin, why don’t you have any plants in your apartment? Won’t it improve your apartment’s air quality?" Su Xiaoran asked curiously.
Lin Haoren was instantly stunned by her question.
With his previous lack of self-care and management, even if he could afford some plants to decorate the apartment, they would have died quickly.
Now that he was determined to change himself, the lack of plants was indeed something he had overlooked.
"That’s an excellent suggestion, Ranran. Thank you for reminding me. I should look into it once I get back from my trip to Beichuan Province," Lin Haoren earnestly considered.
Su Xiaoran smiled cheekily and asked, "Since I provided a good suggestion, how do you plan to reward me?"
"What kind of reward do you want?" Lin Haoren smiled back before quickly adding, "Except for any more food tonight."
Su Xiaoran pouted unhappily, complaining, "Am I that kind of person to you, Brother Lin? I don’t think about food all the time, okay?"
"Alright, alright, I believe you," Lin Haoren laughed lightly.
His gaze slowly shifted past Su Xiaoran and saw the partial changes in his bedroom, then his expression froze.
He quickly pushed the door fully open and surveyed his original bedroom.
Lin Haoren’s expression quickly turned to sheer disbelief.
A faint floral scent pervaded the room, and his quilt and pillow covers had been replaced with cute pink colors. On the bedside table by the mirror, an array of makeup was arranged.
Sticky notes were plastered on the walls, and his wardrobe had half of its space occupied by Su Xiaoran’s clothes.
He stared back at her speechlessly.
"Why are you looking at me like that, Brother Lin?" Su Xiaoran avoided his dumbfounded gaze as she rubbed her thumbs together shyly.
"Is this a hostile takeover?" Lin Haoren uttered.
"What hostile takeover?" Su Xiaoran hammered Lin Haoren’s shoulder and argued weakly, "You make it sound so bad. This is called moving in."
"Moving in?" Lin Haoren surveyed his bedroom again, then stared back at Su Xiaoran, then back at the bedroom again. "You call this moving in?"
"There’s a guest room next door, but you directly took over the master bedroom. Which part of the bedroom looks like it still belongs to me besides the half space of clothes in the wardrobe?"
"My bedroom has practically been transformed into your nest. Is this still my home or your home?" Lin Haoren asked in wonder.
How did all this stuff fit in her suitcase anyway?
Su Xiaoran coughed awkwardly with embarrassment and retorted in a small voice, while looking down at the floor, "Why does there have to be such a clear distinction between us? Can’t it just be our home instead?"
Lin Haoren was struck speechless. He really couldn’t argue against that. He didn’t have a problem with Su Xiaoran’s actions either.
It was just that... did they just skip an entire stage in their relationship?
If Su Xiaoran had moved into the guest bedroom, he could have at least considered her a roommate.
However, she took over the master bedroom directly. She clearly intended to share his bed again. Moving in and sleeping together—that was practically married life.
Lin Haoren wasn’t stupid.
Su Xiaoran moved her stuff into his room to share the bed and wore such a loose nightgown. Even if she said she wasn’t trying to seduce him, he wouldn’t believe it.
After all, she wasn’t even wearing a bra. Was she not afraid of him looking?
Clearly, it was a blatant temptation!
It was hard for him to resist looking every time. His self-control was whittled down every time she purposely bent for him to see.
Although Lin Haoren couldn’t understand why Su Xiaoran was in a rush, he couldn’t possibly let her take every step toward him.
He should also make an effort to take some steps toward her.
She had given enough signs; he had to make a move.
At worst, he would be called a pervert. If he didn’t even dare to make a move, then he would be worse than a pervert.
After making up her mind, Lin Haoren suddenly embraced Su Xiaoran. He clearly felt her body stiffen for a moment before relaxing completely.
"You’re right, Ranran. There’s no need for distinction between us. This is our home," Lin Haoren said, holding her in his arms.
"Mm!" Su Xiaoran nodded happily, her eyes welling up with emotion.
A surge of relief filled her heart the moment she was hugged. She had been afraid that Lin Haoren would reject her after all her subtle advances.
She may have acted boldly, but it took immense courage.
"Brother Lin, do you think we are moving too fast?" Su Xiaoran softly asked.
"Does our relationship feel forced?" Lin Haoren asked back.
Su Xiaoran frowned in thought, then shook her head. "Not at all. I feel like we get along very well."
"Then it’s fine, right?" Lin Haoren smiled lightly and said, "Some people could take a lifetime to meet the right person, while others might only take a single instance."
"We’ve been neighbors for at least 6 months. It doesn’t really count as meeting the right person in a single instance, right?" Su Xiaoran wondered.
"It does," Lin Haoren defended, saying, "Although we’ve been neighbors for months, we didn’t formally meet until that one morning run."
"You could say that we were right for each other, but it just wasn’t the right time until then," Lin Haoren comforted.
"So, are we a couple now?" Su Xiaoran asked hopefully.
