In his four years of study at Jinhai Academy of Drama, he had neither honed solid skills nor built any reliable connections in the industry despite his hard work.
Lin Haoren couldn’t help but feel a little depressed as he recalled his past years of struggle.
Some people were destined to struggle in the mud forever, while others were destined to shoot straight for the stars in a single leap.
If the system did not arrive, Lin Haoren did not know when he would be able to take the next step closer to his dream of becoming a star.
"Oh, right, Brother Lin. Are you busy today?" Su Xiaoran suddenly asked as they reached the doorstep of Building 3, Room 701.
"That depends. I do have something to do, but it’s not important," Lin Haoren casually said before asking, "Why do you ask?"
"Do you want to head to the Xinghai Film City together later today if your extra role is approved, Brother Lin?" Su Xiaoran asked.
"Let’s talk about after I really get that extra role," Lin Haoren smiled lightly, not pinning too much hope on it.
"Oh, okay..." Su Xiaoran returned Oreo reluctantly.
Lin Haoren found her state pitiful, and his lips curved into a smile. He pushed Oreo back into her arms, to her surprise.
"Since you are so reluctant to part, you can keep him for a bit longer. Just return him to me when you are heading out."
Oreo: ???
Did it just get sold off?
"Wow! Thank you, Brother Lin! You are so nice!" Su Xiaoran was overjoyed.
She had always wanted a kitten but feared she didn’t have the time to raise one. Since her neighbor had a cat, she could play with it whenever she was free.
This was just great!
"Oreo, remember to be good." Lin Haoren sent his pal off.
Oreo stared back at him with lazy focus, seemingly resigned to its situation, yet also wanting to remember this moment of betrayal to take revenge later.
Lin Haoren snickered and didn’t think too much of it.
After entering his apartment, he paused for a moment before sending Su Xiaoran a message, sharing Oreo’s snack preferences and fixed mealtimes.
Then, he put away his phone and picked a novel off the bookshelf, diving straight into focused reading.
During his time with Su Xiaoran, he had a lot to think about his future plans.
The A Thousand Lifetimes With You production had finished casting, and official filming was right around the corner.
It might have even started already.
As such, even if he was lucky to get an extra role in the production, there was no time to build up his body. An extra role didn’t require much acting skills either.
Thus, there was no need to cram his acting knowledge.
During this limited time, the best he could do was get familiar with the A Thousand Lifetimes With You story. That was probably more useful.
Fortunately, he happened to have a copy of the popular novel at home.

While reading A Thousand Lifetimes With You, Lin Haoren made a great discovery. Proficiency points were easier to gain if he put his heart and mind into the work.
However, he believed this improved efficiency was also related to his increased Intelligence and Spirit attributes.
Time seemed to flow faster in this strangely wonderful state.
Lin Haoren did not notice that a beautiful young lady in a red qipao dress had stood at his doorsteps for a while before proceeding to Building 3, Room 702.
The doorbell rang to Su Xiaoran’s surprise.
She hurriedly went to answer, thinking Lin Haoren needed something.
However, the unexpected visitor caught her off guard.
"S-Senior Mu!" Su Xiaoran gasped with surprise. "Why are you here? Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?"
Mu Qingxue curled her lips and teased, "If I didn’t give you a heads up, were you planning not to welcome me?"
"N-no, not at all! Please come in, Senior!" Su Xiaoran hurriedly let Mu Qingxue in, looking flustered.
Mu Qingxue smiled triumphantly as she entered, feeling smug for a moment. But then, she noticed the cute furball on the sofa.
"Ran Ran, when did you get a cat?" Mu Qingxue asked with surprise.
"It’s not mine; it’s my neighbor’s. Brother Lin let me play with Oreo when he saw we were reluctant to part."
Oreo: ???
What do you mean by "we"?
Su Xiaoran’s explanation made Oreo want to roll its eyes. It was being held captive against its will, okay?
"Oh?" Mu Qingxue uttered with surprise, noticing the tuxedo cat’s reaction. "This little cutie seems quite intelligent...?"
Hearing this, Oreo raised its head and evaluated her.
However, it quickly lost interest and returned to rest on the comfortable sofa. Since it couldn’t escape, it might as well relax.
Mu Qingxue’s approaching figure immediately caught Oreo’s attention. It raised its head, glaring at her with alarm, even hissing with warning.
Human, I’ve already made my peace here! Are you trying to compete with Sacred One for his territory?!
Mu Qingxue paused, feeling somewhat afraid.
She didn’t want to get scratched. It wouldn’t be worth it.
"Alright, the sofa is yours. No need to be so aggressive, alright?" Mu Qinxue surrendered the sofa and found another spot to sit. Then, she sulked, "How is this a little cutie? Such a fierce temperament isn’t cute at all!"
Su Xiaoran couldn’t help but laugh.
"Senior Mu, maybe you have some other cat smell on you that it doesn’t like? Oreo is usually well-behaved."
"Usually?" Mu Qingxue snorted, grumpily saying, "How long have you known it? Are you very familiar? How come I don’t know?"
Su Xiaoran smiled and didn’t answer.
"Why did you suddenly come over here, Senior Mu?" She asked.
"Isn’t it all because I was worried about you? You suddenly dropped me a bombshell of a request, then hung up before I could get any details. Is that appropriate?"
Mu Qingxue complained to her, "Ran Ran, you are so cold, kicking me to the curb as soon as I outlive my usefulness. Sister is so sad."
"You are exaggerating things, Senior Mu." Su Xiaoran stifled her laughter and hurried over, massaging Mu Qingxue’s shoulders as she comforted, "Where am I cold? Would a cold junior do this for you?"
Mu Qingxue wanted to laugh, but she kept a stern expression.
"Alright, enough nonsense. Tell me more about your bad-rumored neighbor. Why do you want him to join the production?"
