Of course it had something to do with the Origin Battlefield again. It was almost like this place was designed to put him on a stage.

What was worse wasn't even his name being at the top of a long, blank list, and the only one at that. It was what was happening to his Rank Advancement Task.

[Rank Advancement Quest]

[Current Influence Level: Galactic]

[Own an entity on the level of your Personal Influence. Not less than three levels below. Progress: 30% (Multi-Realmic)] The progress on his task was massively increasing.

[Progress: 50% (Multi-Realmic)]

[Progress: 80% (Multi-Realmic)]

[Progress: 99% (Multi-Realmic)]

It didn't take long to continue to the next evaluation.

[Progress: 20% (Sectoric)]

[Progress: 50% (Sectoric)]

It didn't stop rising, showing that even more Awakeners were staring at the same thing Michael was right now.

However, it didn't take long for Michael to wake up from his joy and confusion. He started sweating as even more changes began appearing on his Rank Advancement Task.

[Current Influence Level: Multi-Galactic]

[Progress: 59% (Grand Sectoric)]

Yes.

Even his Influence Level had risen a degree.

As for why this was the case, Michael believed it had to do with the thousands of Rank Four Awakeners staring at his name right now.

Fortunately, the speed of progress for the two requirements stopped not long after his Influence Level broke through to Multi-Galactic.

[Current Influence Level: Multi-Galactic]

[Progress: 77% (Galactic)]

Fortunately, nothing crazy happened, and he did not break through to the next evaluation of his Influence, which would be Cluster Sovereign.

This, however, also made him realize that simply being known might have already reached its limit for influencing his Influence Level, since if that weren't the case, the thousands of Awakeners in this layer now, originating from countless realms, should have brought his Influence Level to perhaps even Cosmic level.

Michael had just wiped the invisible sweat off his face when another panel appeared before him.

Fortunately, it didn't have anything to do with him this time and was for other Awakeners like him.

Well, it did still have something to do with him, though.

[Origin Battlefield Notice]

Following recent evaluations, the following functions have been implemented.

[Ranking Challenge System: Revision]

Each participant may now issue up to ten ranking challenges per month, an increase from the previous limit.

Each participant may likewise be challenged up to ten times per month.

The refusal limit remains unchanged. Each participant may refuse a challenge up to three times, up to three challenges per month. After this limit is reached, any further refusal will be treated as a forfeit.

All other conditions governing challenges, including combat resolution and range restrictions, remain in effect without alteration.

[Territory Ranking]

Similar in structure to the Origin Ranking, the Territory Ranking evaluates every registered domain currently established within the Origin Battlefield. Standing is determined by the comprehensive development of each territory and updates once every ten days.

Rewards for maintained rankings settle once every 182 days. Reward has nothing to do with current ranking but overall performance.

Ranking may also be seized through battle rather than development. Should the residents of two territories, each under their own Universal Cornerstone, engage one another in battle, victory may forcefully transfer standing between them regardless of prior progress.

Owners are advised to explore this function themselves.

[Dungeon System]

In recognition of awakener growth across the Origin Battlefield, the Dungeon System has been opened.

Portals leading into dungeons will now appear throughout various locations within the battlefield. A dungeon is a sealed space separated from the surrounding territory, generated with its own monsters, traps, and treasures independent of the outside world. Every portal is temporary and will collapse once its duration expires, along with anything left unclaimed inside.

Clearing a dungeon grants a chance to obtain a Dungeon Blueprint. Territory owners in possession of a Universal Cornerstone may use a Blueprint to convert a temporary portal into a permanent gateway, binding the dungeon to their domain indefinitely.

Further changes are to be expected following future evaluations.

The Origin Battlefield wishes all awakeners continued growth and development.

If there was one thing Michael had noticed since entering the Origin Battlefield again, it was how frequently the Universal Cornerstone kept appearing, far more than he had originally expected.

Origin Points. Territories. Permanent dungeons. The new Territory Ranking.

Even bringing beings above the permitted Rank into lower layers required a currency Michael only knew how to obtain through the Universal Cornerstone.

At this point, the message was becoming almost painfully obvious. If someone wanted to properly participate in the deeper functions of the Origin Battlefield, possessing a Universal Cornerstone wasn't merely useful.

It might eventually become necessary.

The Origin Battlefield was practically telling every Awakener in existence that whatever advantages they currently enjoyed were incomplete without a cornerstone.

Fortunately, there was one good thing about that.

Michael was no longer the only known person who could possess one. That mattered a lot.

His previous situation had been dangerous partly because outsiders believed whatever treasure he possessed might be unique. Now every Awakener had been shown that domains could be established using Universal Cornerstones. The Territory Ranking had even openly revealed the concept.

Anyone sufficiently intelligent would quickly understand that Michael hadn't received some impossible treasure no one else could ever obtain. Others could claim one too. They simply had to find one.

Michael suspected this alone would reduce some of the attention on him. Especially from the stronger races.

Why waste enormous resources hunting Michael across realms when they could instead mobilize their own Awakeners inside the Origin Battlefield and search for another Universal Cornerstone?

The Origin Battlefield actually had an enormous advantage over the Land of Origin when it came to something like that. People didn't need to hide what they were here. Everyone participating was an Awakener. Their worlds and races might be different, but there was no mystery surrounding why they had entered.

More importantly, people from the same civilization weren't necessarily isolated from one another forever. With suitable communication methods or other specialized means, Awakeners belonging to the same realm could probably locate one another and cooperate.
