Chapter 62: Chapter 62

Alpha Alaric’s Point of View

"Alpha, watch out!"

The loud shout came from behind me, I did not even think, I just moved. My wolf body turned fast. A silver dagger flew right past my ear, and it hit a big tree behind me with a loud thud.

I let out a big growl. My eyes locked onto the rogue wolf who threw it. I wanted to tear him apart, but then I heard a loud sound. It was the sound of many paws hitting the ground. My elite guards had multiple, more were finally here. A big group of my men crashed into the clearing.

When the rogue wolves saw how many men I had, they lost their courage. They stopped fighting as a team. They scattered everywhere, trying to run away into the dark trees. But my guards were too fast for them. My men formed a big circle and blocked every exit. The fight did not last long after that.

I changed back into my human form and threw a cloak over my shoulders. I started shouting orders to my men. "Do not kill them! Keep them alive! I need answers!"

I needed to know who sent these wolves to attack the Divine Doctor. My guards pinned the remaining rogues to the dirt and tied their hands tight, I felt a small wave of relief. We won the fight, and I had them captured. Now, I could finally find out who was trying to kill people in my territory.

But then, the eight captured rogues looked at each other. They gave a dark, ugly smile. Before my guards could stop them or check their mouths, black blood started pouring from their lips. They took a hidden poison capsule to kill themselves right there. They chose to die rather than talk to me.

They all fell forward into the mud, completely dead. I stood there with eight bodies and absolutely no answers.

We could not waste time looking at dead bodies. The clearing was a total mess, but my injured men were more important. I rushed back to the pack house with my warriors. When we carried the wounded inside, the palace infirmary became total chaos.

Stone, Ash, and Shadow were in very bad shape, especially Stone. My regular pack doctors were panicking. They did not know how to clean the deep wounds.

I remembered what Stone told me in my study just few hour ago. I grabbed a passing guard by his shirt. "Go find Nell, Ivy’s maid, right now! Tell her to bring Ivy to the infirmary immediately! Run!"

Ivy’s Point of View:

My bedroom door flew open so hard it hit the wall. Nell ran inside, breathing very fast. Her face was completely pale, like she had seen a ghost.

"Nell, what is wrong with you?" I asked.

Nell spoke so fast her words ran together. "Lady Ivy... the guards... Stone, Ash, and Shadow... they were attacked on the road! They are in the infirmary right now, and they are dying. The Alpha wants you there right now!"

The world felt like it stopped moving. My mind went blank from the shock, but my feet started running on their own. I did not care about my secret anymore. I did not care if people found out who I really was. I ran down the hallways in. I did not stop until I pushed open the infirmary doors.

The sight inside made me gasp. I put both hands over my mouth to stop a scream. "Stone..." I whispered.

He was lying on the main bed, and he looked terrible. A huge, deep cut went across his stomach. The wound was not closing. I looked around the room. There was no time to act like a weak, helpless girl anymore. I had to drop the act. These men got hurt because they were protecting my secret. If I had to reveal my shaman identity to save their lives, then I would do it.

I looked at the doctors and guards in the room.

"Everyone get out or stand back right now!" I shouted. My voice sounded so loud and powerful that even the old doctors stepped back in surprise.

I grabbed my medical box from the counter. I opened it and pulled out a special needle and some thread. But I knew standard tools would not save them from silver poison. I closed my eyes for one second and pulled the old shamanic energy from deep inside my blood.

I started to sew Stone’s torn belly back together. As I worked, a soft, warm golden light started to glow from the tips of my fingers. With every stitch I made, I pushed my spiritual power into his flesh. The light went deep into his body, destroying the effect of the silver and making his skin knit back together fast. Once Stone’s breathing became slow and steady, I rushed over to Ash and Shadow.

Their cuts were different. They had long, sizzling burns from the silver blades. I mixed a special shamanic herb paste and started spreading it over their chests. I closed my eyes and whispered healing chant. The magic activated the green plants, and the paste started to glow a bright color.

By the time I finished treating all three of them, it was already midnight. I looked at the three guards. They were sleeping peacefully now, and their skin was totally healed. Everyone in the room let out a huge breath of relief.

Alpha Alaric’s Point of View:

I stood quietly in the corner of the room, completely frozen. I could not believe what I just saw with my own eyes. I was totally shocked and amazed. Ivy, this quiet, simple woman, just performed a literal shamanic miracle right in front of me.

The things Stone told me earlier were one hundred percent true. She really was the famous wandering doctor. A huge wave of pure happiness hit my chest. If she had this kind of crazy, powerful magic, then my son Dominic actually had a chance. This was not just a hopeless dream anymore. She could really wake him up and bring him back to us.

I stepped out of the corner,  I looked at her with a lot of respect. "You are truly amazing, Ivy. After seeing what you did tonight... I am sure of it now. With your help, I know my son is finally going to wake up."

Ivy wiped the sweat from her forehead and turned around slowly to look at me. But as she listened to my words, her whole body went stiff. All the color left her face again. She stared at me, her hands shaking as she whispered.

"You... you knew? You knew who I was before tonight?"
