While everyone else was dealing with their own challenges and making steady progress.
Noah and Damien continued to encounter one life-threatening situation after another. The labyrinth seemed determined to test them at every turn.
Fourth Floor
After finally escaping the underground forest, the two arrived at the fourth floor.
The scenery changed completely once again.
Instead of forests or ancient ruins.
An enormous submerged city spread before them.
Countless stone buildings rested beneath crystal-clear water, their rooftops barely visible above the surface. Broken towers and collapsed bridges stretched into the distance, giving the impression that an entire civilization had once flourished here before being swallowed by the depths.
The water was surprisingly calm. But beneath its tranquil surface.
Danger lurked everywhere. Noah knew that there would be danger inside the water.
This floor was inhabited by aquatic monsters unlike anything Noah had ever fought before.
Giant serpentine fish. Razor-finned predators.
Massive crustaceans. And countless other creatures that attacked from beneath the water without warning.
Fortunately, the difficulty of the floor turned out to be much lower than they had initially expected.
Noah quickly came up with a simple strategy. He looked toward the endless expanse of water before speaking.
"I’ll freeze a path across the water. We’ll run straight to the opposite side."
He glanced at Damien.
"You focus on killing anything that tries to attack us."
Damien grinned confidently.
"Got it, bro. Leave it to me."
Without wasting another second...
Noah slammed his hand onto the water’s surface.
Mana surged outward.
Crack...!
An enormous sheet of ice rapidly spread across the water, forming a sturdy frozen road stretching toward the distant ruins.
The two immediately sprinted forward. Whenever monsters burst from beneath the water...
Damien intercepted them.
Golden light exploded from his sword as one aquatic creature after another fell before they could even reach Noah.
Even so crossing the fourth floor proved far more troublesome than expected. Although the monsters themselves weren’t overwhelmingly powerful...
The floor was filled with hidden traps. Pressure plates concealed beneath the water. Poison dart mechanisms hidden inside ruined buildings.
Collapsing bridges. Explosive magical formations left behind by the ancient civilization.
Each trap slowed their progress. To make matters worse.
The entrance leading to the fifth floor had been cleverly concealed within last submerge building. It was good that Noah and Damien tried to find it from last building of the floor.
Still finding it alone consumed a considerable amount of time. By the time they finally located the hidden passage.
More than two days had passed.
Fifth Floor
After each floor they would come to a small chamber where there’s chest box. Sadly it was not present on each floor.
Then the moment they stepped onto the next floor. The atmosphere changed again. This time they found themselves inside a gigantic stone fortress.
Long corridors stretched endlessly in every direction. The walls were decorated with faded banners and rusted suits of armor.
An eerie silence filled the fortress.
At least until it was shattered.
"Fuck!!"
Noah and Damien sprinted through one of the massive corridors as fast as they could.
Behind them an entire undead legion gave chase. Dozens upon dozens of skeletal knights rushed after them.
Their empty eye sockets glowed with ghostly blue flames. Rusted swords scraped against the stone floor as they charged forward without fear or exhaustion.
The sound of countless armored footsteps echoed throughout the fortress.
"Dammit! Why are there so many of them?!"
Damien shouted while continuing to run.
Even Noah couldn’t help feeling overwhelmed.
"There must be hundreds..."
Just then an idea flashed through Noah’s mind.
His eyes widened.
"Oi!"
He turned toward Damien while still running.
"You’re a Light Element user! You have a natural advantage against undead!"
"Use the special light mana attribute within your Solar Core!"
Damien blinked.
Then realization struck him.
"...Right."
His frightened expression instantly disappeared.
A confident grin spread across his face.
"Haha... Let’s see how effective it really is."
He abruptly stopped running. Golden mana erupted from his body.
Brilliant sunlight illuminated the dark corridor.
The skeletons instinctively slowed. The divine energy radiating from Damien was something every undead creature instinctively feared.
His sword became enveloped in dazzling golden light.
Unlike ordinary Light produce by normal mana, this radiance carried a faint trace of divinity bestowed by his Solar Core.
The air itself seemed to tremble.
Damien smiled.
"My turn."
He shot forward like a beam of sunlight.
BOOM!!
His sword swept across the battlefield. The first skeletal knight exploded into fragments the instant the divine blade touched it.
Golden light spread through the undead ranks.
One skeleton after another disintegrated into glowing particles.
Meanwhile Noah supported him from the rear.
Massive walls of ice erupted throughout the corridor, trapping groups of undead before freezing them solid.
Those who escaped were immediately crushed beneath countless ice spears. The battle quickly turned into a massacre.
The very enemies that had forced them to flee moments earlier now stood no chance against Damien’s overwhelming elemental advantage.
By the following day after fighting through countless undead patrols and navigating the labyrinthine fortress the two finally discovered an enormous stone door hidden behind the castle’s throne room.
Ancient runes glowed faintly across its weathered surface.
Beyond it awaited the sixth floor of the labyrinth.

"This floor is going to be troublesome..."
Damien muttered as he looked around cautiously.
Noah shrugged.
"Honestly... I think it’s still easier than some of the previous floors."
BOOM!!
A suit of enchanted armor swung its massive sword downward.
Damien hurriedly raised his own blade to block it.
Clang!!
The collision echoed throughout the enormous chamber.
"...How is this easier?!" Damien shouted while struggling against the towering suit of armor.
Unlike ordinary monsters. These enemies weren’t living creatures.
They were nothing more than empty suits of knightly armor animated by ancient magic.
Only endless attacks. The room they had entered resembled an ancient library.
Towering bookshelves stretched toward the ceiling, packed with thousands upon thousands of books.
Dust covered nearly every shelf, giving the impression that no one had stepped inside for centuries. At the corners of the vast library stood dozens of suits of knight armor.
At first glance they appeared to be nothing more than decorations. But now when they were attacking. Noah and Damien got to know just how strong they were.
