Dammit! Isn’t this too much?!
Noah forced his exhausted legs to move faster as rain hammered against his body.
His clothes were completely drenched, clinging heavily to his skin. His snow-white hair stuck against his forehead while muddy water splashed beneath every frantic step.
’I haven’t even reached the peak of the human ranks yet, and now I have to face a fully awakened dragon?!’

Mana surged violently through his legs.
Noah didn’t care about efficiency anymore.
He poured as much mana as his body could tolerate into physical reinforcement, pushing his speed beyond anything he normally dared to attempt.

He gritted his teeth.

’What kind of ridiculous situation is this?!’

Noah’s thoughts abruptly stopped.
Lightning, but this time, it wasn’t coming from the clouds.
"What now?"
A terrible sensation crawled across his skin.
Noah looked over his shoulder.
His pupils shrank. The enormous dragon was almost directly above him.
Akari’s gigantic wings stretched across the stormy sky as she pursued him, her sapphire scales illuminated by countless flashes of lightning.
But that wasn’t what terrified Noah.
Her jaws were open.
CRACKLE! CRACKLE! CRACKLE!
Brilliant blue lightning gathered inside her mouth.
It started deep within her throat as a tiny spark before rapidly expanding into a violently compressed sphere of electrical energy.
The surrounding air distorted. Lightning crawled across her fangs. The light became so intense that the inside of her mouth appeared like a miniature blue sun.
Noah’s face lost all color.
’NO!!’
He immediately understood.
’Dragon Breath? Dragon beam? Whatever!!’
"AKARI!!!"
Noah screamed with everything his lungs could give him.
"IT’S ME!"
His throat burned.
"NOAH!!"
For the briefest moment, a foolish part of him hoped she would recognize his voice.
That somewhere beneath those overwhelming draconic instincts, Akari would hear him and remember him.
But those enormous eyes didn’t change. The lightning only grew brighter.
"Fuck!"
Noah’s expression collapsed.
’So much for the power of love! I thought it will work!! Was power of love all false?’
There was no miracle coming. No emotional awakening. There was no convenient last-second recognition.
He had only one option.
RUN.
Noah abruptly changed direction. His right foot slammed into the ground.
CRACK!
The earth shattered beneath him as he threw his entire body toward the left.
Mana exploded through his legs. Pain immediately tore through his muscles from the excessive reinforcement.
Noah ignored it. He ran faster. Faster than during his academy training. Faster than during the Wilderness Race. Faster than when monsters had chased him through this forest.
Faster than he had ever run in his entire life. It was run for his survival.Then the world behind him turned blue.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM—!!!
A colossal beam of concentrated lightning erupted from Akari’s mouth. It tore downward from the heavens like divine punishment.
The beam struck precisely where Noah would’ve been had he continued running straight. For a fraction of a time, there was silence.
KRAAAAAAAAA-BOOOOOOOOM!!!
The forest disappeared in blue-white light.
Lightning exploded outward.
Trees were instantly shattered and incinerated.
The earth collapsed beneath the impact as an enormous crater formed, while countless arcs of electricity tore through the surrounding forest.
Noah had already covered nearly five hundred meters. It wasn’t enough.
"SHIT!"
The expanding shockwave reached him.
BOOM—!!!
It struck his back like an invisible mountain.
"ARGHH!"
Noah was ripped from the ground.
His body flew forward uncontrollably, smashing through branches before bouncing violently across the muddy earth.
Finally, he crashed through a bush and slammed against the ground.
The entire world shook. The earth trembled as though a massive earthquake had struck the forest.
Trees groaned and collapsed.
Dust, shattered wood, stones, leaves, and debris filled the air, only to be beaten back down by the torrential rain.
Noah lay motionless for several seconds.
"Cough!"
Blood splattered from his mouth. His ears rang painfully. His entire back screamed in agony. Yet he was alive.
Noah pushed one trembling hand against the ground.
"That..."
He coughed again.
"woman went crazy!!"
But Akari wasn’t finished. Far above she was still flying.
ROOOOOAAAARRRRR—!!!
The dragon suddenly shot upward. Her gigantic body disappeared into the dark clouds.
Noah raised his head weakly.
"What is she..."
Then his expression changed. The clouds began rotating.
They were slowly at first and then faster and faster.
Akari’s silhouette moved within their depths, occasionally revealed whenever lightning illuminated the heavens.
CRACK!
A massive bolt struck the forest and then another.
CRACK! CRACK!
The storm intensified. Wind screamed between the trees. Rain became so heavy that Noah could barely see more than a few dozen meters ahead.
Lightning spread across the sky in enormous branching webs. The entire region was being swallowed by Akari’s power.
The lakes, the forest and the river everything was covered with rain and storm.
This place, this dimension surely had a boundary. Akari had told him.
It was like an invisible barrier surrounding the hundreds of kilometers huge forest.
And right now that whol dimension was covered by storm.
Even their small wooden house far away was now buried beneath the expanding storm.
Noah stared upward in disbelief. This wasn’t merely bad weather anymore. Akari herself had become the center of the storm.
A living natural disaster. And somewhere within those black clouds. The Storm Dragon continued to roar.
’What should I do? Fuck!’
Noah stood beside a half-broken tree, his back pressed against its cracked trunk as he desperately tried to think.
’For now, I should find somewhere safe and stay hidden... at least until she calms down. But what if she doesn’t? What if she never regains control?’
The thought sent a chill through him.
Noah pushed himself away from the tree, turned, and started running again.
His body was battered and covered in injuries, but thankfully, none of them were severe enough to stop him from running or fighting.
Noah continued running through the forest. His breathing had become ragged, his clothes were soaked with rain, and every muscle in his body screamed from exhaustion. Yet he didn’t dare stop.
CRACK!
A bolt of blue lightning struck somewhere behind him.
BOOM!
The ground trembled beneath his feet.
"Dammit!"
Noah pushed through a wall of bushes and suddenly emerged into a familiar clearing.
"...Huh?"
His steps slowed.
Noah frowned at the sight before him. In the middle of the forest was a large circular clearing, completely devoid of trees. And at its center stood the same mysterious platform he had discovered during his survival training months ago.
A perfectly circular structure made from some strange gray stone. Ancient runes were carved across its entire surface, forming complicated patterns that Noah still couldn’t understand.
Around the edges of the platform stood several waist-high stone pillars.
And resting atop each one were spherical red crystals. It was familiar place but something was different.
Noah’s eyes narrowed. "What the hell is happening here?"
The crystals were glowing. Months ago, they had remained completely lifeless. No matter how much Noah examined them, touched the platform, or poured mana into the runes, nothing had happened.
Pulse.
Red light flashed from every crystal simultaneously.
Then faded.
Pulse.
They flashed again.
Noah stared at them.
"What...?"
ROOOOOAAAAARRRRR—!!!
The roar of the Storm Dragon thundered through the forest.
Noah immediately turned. Far above the trees, Akari’s enormous silhouette moved within the raging storm clouds.
Blue lightning spread across the heavens around her.
PULSE!
The crystals suddenly became brighter.
Noah froze.
ROOOOAAARRR—!!
"No way."
Noah’s expression slowly changed. Every time Akari released a powerful surge of energy.
The crystals reacted.
"This..."
He cautiously stepped closer.
"Is this thing reacting to her awakening?"
His heart began beating faster. Akari had told him that this platform had remained dormant for sixty years. Yet the moment she completely released her dragon bloodline, it suddenly began showing signs of activity.
’Didn’t she notice this things before when she tried to awakened her bloodline? no.. according to her she used to suppress it withing a minute since it was just too hard... so she might have never notice this. Is her awakening activating it?’
Noah stared at the ancient runes.
’Or is it waiting for something?’
Rumble!
The platform suddenly trembled.
Noah immediately stepped backward.
"What now?!"
But nothing happened. It was already hard to stand still in such heavy winds despite Noah possessing superhuman powers.
He ran a hand through his hair.
’I have no choice but to try to stay safe... or find some way to help Akari calm down.’
ROOOAAARRR!!
Another thunderous roar tore through the sky. This time, it was much closer.
Noah flinched at the deafening sound and immediately looked up. His eyes widened. The enormous shadow of the dragon could be seen through the dark clouds, passing directly above him.
Then, without warning, she descended. The clouds split apart as something massive came crashing down toward him. Noah saw her leg—or rather, the enormous, razor-sharp claws at the end of it.
’Fuck!’
He didn’t need another warning. Noah shot forward with all his strength.
