April

This is my absolute first time ever entering a giant ship, and it is honestly so beautiful.

From the bow to the stern, and even down the long cabin corridors, everything looked absolutely fabulous. The ship was even more beautiful than I had imagined. The walls were polished, the lights were bright, and every corner looked like something straight out of a luxury hotel.

I had watched so many movies where wealthy people went on expensive cruises, walking around in fancy clothes and drinking champagne like the ship was their home. Back then, it all felt so far away from my reality.

But now, somehow, I was actually standing on one.

A real luxury cruise ship.

And honestly, I still couldn’t believe it.

We were given our own private cabin by Abigail. It was built just like a high-end hotel room, and the lighting and design of the interior were totally lit.

Angel was lying stretched out on the bed, patiently trying to make peace with her stubborn baby girl, but nah, Coco Terror didn’t want any peace from her owner today. She just wants her mate Percy.

"Okay, my little shining star, if you just let me play with you for a bit, I promise to take you straight to your white demon," Angel purred down to the cat in a soft, coaxing voice.

And behold, Terror instantly became super active and playful with her owner the very second she heard those words.

"Wow, you two actually look so adorable together," I smiled, pulling out my phone and snapping a quick picture of the moment.

"I can’t even believe she loves that cat more than she loves me," Angel muttered, shaking her head as Terror rolled onto her back.

"Well, that’s just life for you."

"But I love her so much more than anyone else in the world, even more than you..." Angel said plainly, without looking up.

"Okay, that sank very, very well into my ears," I muttered under my breath, turning my face away and trying my best to pretend my heart wasn’t completely affected by what she had just said out loud.

Then I decided it was the perfect time to ask her the lingering question that had been sitting heavily on my mind ever since we boarded the ship.

"You never actually informed me that Abigail was the specific ex-girlfriend from your high school days," I said, walking over and sitting down right at the edge of the bed.

"I definitely did," Angel said, keeping her attention on the cat while handing her another small treat. "Back at the restaurant, during that first-date thing we had... you explicitly asked me all about my past."

"Yeah, you told me about an ex, but you never mentioned her actual name was Abigail."

"Why are you asking me about her all of a sudden?" Angel paused, raising an eyebrow at me. "Are you jealous or something?"

"Obviously not," I said, scratching the back of my head awkwardly. "I just genuinely wasn’t aware that she was the ex you were talking about."

"You already know we used to sleep together, right?"

"You sleep with almost everyone in the district," I pointed out, rolling my eyes slightly. "But you never actually dated those other people."

"Madam and my mother originally wanted Abigail and me to become a couple," Angel explained, resting her chin on her hand. "They wanted us to get married to each other eventually, since the two of them sit right at the absolute top of the district food chain. My mother being the main boss and Madam being the second in command..."

Angel carefully gathered Coco up inside her cozy blanket, lifted her off the mattress, and got out of the bed. She walked right over to where I was sitting and kissed me softly on the cheek.

"There’s really no need for you to be jealous at all. I never loved her back then, even though we continued having sex. We are just purely platonic now..."

Girl... that is definitely not what the word platonic actually means.

Does this Alpha even own a proper dictionary...

"You are the one I love."

My entire mind went completely offline the very second those words left her mouth.

All I could physically do was sit there frozen on the mattress, blinking my eyes again and again in total shock.

"Come on, Coco, baby. Let’s go meet the one you love..." Angel said smoothly, wrapping the blanket tighter around the cat as she turned on her heel and headed toward the cabin door.

"Angel..." I finally called out, my voice barely working the moment her hand reached the brass doorknob.

"I know," Angel said, turning her head back toward me with a quiet, genuine smile. "I just said the three magic words huh?. It’s not some fake fantasy, it’s real life. Just let it sit deep inside your smuty head, and when I return to the cabin later, you can say yours back to me too. I love you, Four Eyes."

The exact moment Angel and Coco stepped out and closed the cabin door, I was completely thrilled beyond words, and I immediately started flinging my legs wildly back and forth on the bed.

Angel Morningstar actually just said she loves me out loud.

A whole swarm of frantic butterflies inside my tummy were actively jubilating.

The most arrogant, stubborn Alpha in my life had just uttered the three exact words that were never supposed to exist in her personal dictionary.

I was the one who created those words for her.

I’m so fucking happy right now.

Oh Lord, my heart is sinking just like the Titanic, but in the most absolute best way possible.

I was still sitting there actively celebrating the unexpected confession on the bed when I suddenly heard a sharp, knock coming from the cabin door.

I quickly stood up from the bed, adjusting my outfit as I walked across the room to go and check who was knocking on our door so soon.

All of my pure happiness completely vanished into thin air the exact moment I opened the door and saw my mom’s face standing in the Corridor.
