April

If someone would have told me that I could talk like these in front of people... I wouldn’t have believed them...

The Cocky Devil Angel Morningstar was no more replaced by a kitten looking face..

She was even cute with the way she was glaring...

She was standing, her tall frame twitching with pure, unadulterated shock while her crimson eyes stared down at me.

Her mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, her usual arrogant smirk completely wiped clean off her face.

I swear to I wanted to laugh my lungs out but I controlled myself...

"You... are in a lot of trouble young girl... I’m am reporting your actions to your mother...." Angel said pointing at finger at me, I just sat where I was looking at her face.

I stayed sitting like a good girl, keeping my glasses straight on my nose while meeting her wild gaze head-on.

"Oh she wants to call her mommy now... you did not call mommy when you were busy eating her daughter like a savage beast..." Sabrina said...

God, these people here are so wild, even wilder than this burning fury right standing right in front of us...

Sabrina threw her head back, her loud laughter echoing off the wooden ceiling beam while she pointed her glass at Angel’s chest. Carlos slapped the floor again, and Katie was practically rolling on her side, tears of absolute joy leaking from the corners of her eyes.

"Laugh all you want.... You think you can belittle me here... this is my place, I can kick all of you out of the district with just the snap of my fingers... I rule this place..." Angel said to all of us..

She glared around the circle, her jaw clenched until the muscles in her neck stood out sharp and hard.

I need to break her down a little... this is so much fun to me.. I’m enjoying every moment of this...

A sudden wave of misplaced confidence surged right through my veins. After being pushed around, called names, and humiliated all day, watching the invincible Angel Morningstar panic in front of her friends felt like the greatest victory in the world.

"You don’t rule this place.. your mama does, she is your ruler.. she is the one who can be called Harry Potter... you have no power here..." I said laughing and then I realized that no one was laughing...

I waited for Sabrina to burst out laughing again, waited for Abigail to tease her, or for Katie to cheer me on. But nothing happened.

The entire hut plunged into a sudden, suffocating, dead silence.

What happened...? Why are they all quiet...

The continuous giggles completely evaporated into thin air.

Angel’s face didn’t turn redder, it went ghostly pale. Her crimson eyes locked onto mine with a dark, hollow look that sent a freezing shiver straight down my spine.

"What is it, why did you all stop...?" I asked...

I looked around the circle, my smile instantly dying on my lips as my heart dropped into my stomach.

I couldn’t look at the face of Angel before she stormed off..

She didn’t yell. She didn’t curse at me. She didn’t even have her call back. She just walked away.

"Did I say something wrong?"

I looked at Abigail, my voice dropping into a small, uncertain whisper as I pointed toward the empty doorway.

"Nothing wrong.. but maybe next time don’t bring Angel’s Mom into teasing..." Abigail said..

She let out a soft, heavy sigh, her cheerful mood completely gone as she set her empty shot glass down on the wooden floor.

"I only said, she doesn’t own this place because her mother does..." I said, still thinking and doubting my words..

"You ruined the fun for us April..... let’s just continue the game..." Carlos said...

I have no idea what I said that ruined the fun..

Was she hurt about me calling out her mother... she always does that to me as well..

She insulted my mother every chance she got, calling her a gold digger, a parasite, and an evil woman who took over her family’s wealth.

Why was it a crime when I mentioned her mother?

I wanted to ask but I shut my mouth.. .

Then we continue to play the game, we did the never have I ever..

Nobody mentioned Angel again. We sat in a small circle, taking small sips from our glasses whenever someone brought up a question, but the wild, chaotic energy from earlier was completely dead.

And we played card games, even shared each other’s phone numbers..

We now have a group chat...

They only did it because they wanted me to give them more gist about Angel in the nearest future..

They made it painfully obvious, winking at me whenever they brought up her name, hoping I’d spill whatever dirty secrets happened behind the closed doors of the mansion.

I made three friends in the district and also Katie...

It felt strange, having actual people my age texting me, saving my name on their screens, and treating me like someone worth talking to instead of an invisible ghost in the background.

So Abigail’s husband called her on the phone and she called it a night and then I don’t know what Katie whispered to those twins.. But the three of them also vanished..

Leaving me alone with the cards and drinks. So I also called it a night, simple plan, take a night bath, brush my teeth and go to bed.

So I went back to the resort, then I found Angel lying on the bed..

All godly naked...

She was lying flat on her back right in the center of the white mattress, her long, toned legs stretched out, her wine-colored hair spread like a dark halo across the pillows. She hadn’t covered herself with a single blanket. The soft warm lighting of the room washed over her pale skin, showing off every smooth line, every sharp angle, and every detail of her long, athletic body.
