Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)
Chapter 89: Wherever I Sit, You Are Staying Right By My Side.Angel
I cannot believe my eyes.
I am busy here trying to make a drastic, genuine change in my dear life, and she is busy finding another basket.
It hasn’t even been 24 hours since she completely turned my head into a fucking unsolved puzzle, and this is what I walk into.
Trying to find herself another Alpha...
"Oh my God... Angel, what on earth are you doing here?"
I had to force my eyes away from that girl and look straight at this one standing next to me.
"Hey, Abigail. I got your message," I said, keeping my tone smooth and steady. "You said you needed help..."
"I did?" Abigail muttered, her brow furrowing as she looked completely confused.
"Yes, you did." I frowned sharply at her, sending a subtle glare to make her play along with me.
After all, she happened to be the exact person who started all of this by sending me that text message and the photo of that girl kissing someone who wasn’t me.
"Oh, Angel, you’re here. Did Madam send you here to check on things?"
Javier said that the moment everyone in the entire garden turned their heads to look at me.
"Balloon Bear is here!" a loud voice squeaked from the grass.
"Everyone, the Bear has arrived!"
Oh no.
The ants.
I totally forgot about them.
This is all April January’s fault. If she hadn’t put her soft lips on someone else, I wouldn’t be standing in the middle of this colony right now.
They are even many today..
No, no, no.. they should not come close to me.. they should not even dare to..
I wish to run far away from their sights but I am only here to take what is mine..
Before someone does..
"Abigail, stop them from getting close to me now," I muttered under my breath, taking a quick step back to hide behind her shoulder.
"I thought April said you had overcome this fear," Abigail muttered back, turning her head slightly.
I turned her head back to the threat approaching..
"You thought wrong. Stop them from coming anywhere near me woman..."
She lazily groaned...
"Children, take your seats and let’s begin the super dinner," Abigail announced, raising her voice to address the crowd.
Thankfully, all the little children retreated back to their chairs around the lawn.
Thank goodness.. last time I was wearing a mascot and today I am all open..
What would they have done to my nourish skin.
"Mother Martha, this is Angel Morningstar. She is the daughter of Ms. Morningstar," Javier said, introducing me to the older woman who I clearly remembered giving me a cold, unwelcome look the last time I was here.
Today, her reaction was the exact opposite.
Not just her, her accomplices are looking all friendly today...
Why wouldn’t it be?
Everyone always wanted to be friends with the daughter of one of the most powerful, rich woman in the whole country.
Something that has followed me for 25 years...
"Angel, she is the Mother Superior running this place," Javier added.
"Welcome, Young Master. We are truly glad to see you here on your second visit," Mother Martha said, offering a warm smile.
Every single nun standing around her greeted me with polite nods.
Oh, for fuck’s sake.
I didn’t give a damn about this place or their fake respect.
All I wanted to do right now was walk straight over to that four eyes girl, grab her by the wrist, and drag her out of this place.
I didn’t come here to play nice or be friendly with anyone.
I am here for her..
"Shall we all take a seat and dig in? The children are all waiting patiently," the Mother Superior suggested, gesturing toward the tables arranged under the trees.
Since I couldn’t just turn around and leave so soon without causing a scene, I decided to sit down right beside April.
But that ugly thing who had just touched her lips was already sitting in the chair next to her.
I swear, I had the immediate urge to wrap my fingers around her neck and strangle her, or place sharp spikes on that chair and watch her groan in absolute pain.
I ended up having no choice but to sit down directly across from April.
She had been actively avoiding my gaze ever since I stepped into the garden this evening.
Why was trying to be this kind of soft person so damn hard?
My life was simple and easy before I started letting her into my domain.
Now that I was actually letting her in, she was making every single thing difficult for me.
So fucking difficult that something strange and heavy was aching inside my chest right now.
I hadn’t even had sex today because she happened to occupy my entire mind from the moment I woke up.
This was complete madness.
All I could do was sit here and stare bitterly at the way April laughed at every little thing with that creature.
Then that thing leaned across the table and whispered something right into April’s ear, and that girl actually had the nerve to laugh out loud.
I tried so hard to hold back my thoughts and not make myself look like a complete idiot in front of everyone.
But I just couldn’t take it anymore.
I don’t like files perching on my fruit....
"Who is she?"
My voice came out way louder than I expected, cutting straight through the chatter.
Everyone at our table instantly went dead silent and stared at me. Even the people sitting at the other tables turned around to look.
I didn’t care at all.
I had never cared about what random people said or thought about me in my life.
It’s not my cup of tea. It’s theirs to drink.
"Who?" Mary, who happened to be sitting right beside me, asked in a low voice.
I raised my hand and pointed my finger straight at the Alpha sitting next to the four-eyes.
"The Alpha with the cow nose and worm hair."
What? It was true.
Her nose ring looked like one of those heavy bull rings, and her messy hair looked like a bowl of dry noodles.
"That is CJ," Mary explained patiently, lowering her hands. "She’s a musician, and she comes here to teach the children music."
I didn’t care what she did for a living.
She should teach the little kids her stupid songs and leave April completely alone.
"Oh my God, I think there’s something stuck in your eyes," the so-called CJ suddenly said, leaning close to April.
She proceeded to reach out, slide April’s glasses right off her face, and gently blow imaginary dust out of her eyes.
I knew this exact kind of fake person.
Always acting sweet and attentive just to gain affection from innocent, gullible people like April.
I couldn’t believe April was actually sitting there and letting her do all of that to her.
This was so insanely frustrating to watch.
And then...
"Thank you," April said softly.
She even thanked her for it.
She had never once said thank you to me like that, or smiled that brightly in my direction.
"You look so beautiful without your glasses, I don’t think you need them.." CJ murmured, giving her a smooth look.
She needs her glasses to see clearly...
"And that smile makes you one in a million."
That was the absolute limit.
I couldn’t take another second of this garbage.
I didn’t even realize I had gotten up from my seat until my chair scraped loudly against the ground.
"Hey, you. Get up."
I spoke directly to the so-called music Alpha...
How dare she flirt with April right in front of my face?
I didn’t give a single fuck about all the wide eyes staring at me from around the garden.
CJ blinked, looking up at me. "I don’t understand. I’m sitting here eating. Why.
..?"
"Don’t ask me stupid questions," I barked, my eyes narrowing into a dangerous glare. "If you don’t want to get kicked out of this place real fast, you’d better get up right now and find yourself another chair. Go sit at another table."
CJ held her hands up in defense and slowly stood up from her chair.
"Fine. If you want this specific chair that badly, you can have it. April, do you want to come sit with the kids over there with me?"
"Sure," April said, starting to move.
Before she could even lift her hips off her seat, I stepped forward and slammed my hand on her shoulder, pushing her right back down.
Then I slid into the empty chair beside her.
"April isn’t going anywhere with you. Get lost."
I didn’t care about the sharp, furious glare April was giving me from behind her lenses.
You can’t have my mind completely scattered all day, make me feel this weird way inside, and then expect me to just sit back calmly and watch someone else take you away tonight.
That is not going to happen.
Wherever I sit, you are staying right by my side.
