Falling For The True Heiress

Chapter 86: Babe, Please Stay...

~~~~~ Amelia’s POV ~~~~~
Early morning sunlight slipped into the room through the curtains.
My alarm, which I didn’t even remember switching off, rang out.
Ring!
Ring!
Ring!
I groaned and stretched my hand toward the bedside table, picking up my phone. I unlocked it and turned it off before dropping it back down.
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and looked around the room.
Sylvia was still sleeping peacefully beside me.
Her long hair was spread all over the pillow and across the bed, some strands falling over her shoulder while others rested loosely around her face. A few strands had slipped across her cheek, making her look even softer in her sleep.
The morning sunlight touched her hair, making it look almost golden in the soft light.
She looked so peaceful, so beautiful, and honestly...
So adorable.
I couldn’t help smiling as I watched her sleep.
I turned to get down from the bed, but before my feet could touch the floor, an arm suddenly wrapped around my waist and pulled me back.
I fell against Sylvia, my back resting against her chest.
Sylvia leaned closer to my ear. Her eyes were still closed, and I felt her warm breath against my skin.
"Where are you running to?" she whispered.
"I’m not running anywhere," I said, trying to pull myself away from her.
But she held me even tighter.
She moved closer and buried her face against my shoulder, making me smile at how clingy she was this morning.
"Babe, we have to go to the hospital to see Dad this morning, remember?"
"Mmm. I’m aware."
I nodded and stayed where I was.
For a few minutes, everything was quiet.
I could feel the warmth of her body against my back and the slow rhythm of her breathing.
Then—
Ring!
Ring!
Ring!
Sylvia’s phone started ringing from the bedside table. She didn’t move at first.
The ringing continued.
After a few seconds, she finally loosened her arms around me and pulled away.
I frowned. I didn’t want her to let go.
Sylvia sat up and reached toward the bedside table, picking up her phone.
She glanced at the screen, and her face lit up.
A bright smile immediately spread across her lips.
My eyebrows pulled together. Who was calling her this early in the morning?
And why did she look so happy to see the person’s name?
I stared at her. My sleepiness disappeared completely.
She answered the call and put it on speaker.
"My baby girl."
A sweet male voice came through the speaker.
"How are you?"
Sylvia smiled as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I’m fine. Why are you calling so early this morning?"
"I want to take you on a date. I don’t want Cleric to take you away from me today."
He laughed softly after saying it.
Sylvia laughed too, shaking her head.
"You all still haven’t changed, right?"
I swallowed hard.
I didn’t like the way she was talking to him.
She sounded so sweet.
So warm.
I wanted that side of her to belong to me alone.
I looked away immediately, trying to hide the hurt that was slowly creeping into my chest.
I didn’t want her to notice.
I slowly shifted toward the edge of the bed, preparing to get down.
"Babe, where are you going?"
Sylvia’s voice stopped me immediately.
I froze and turned to look at her. I blinked, surprised by what she had called me while talking to someone else.
I was so stunned that I didn’t even answer her.
Sylvia smiled and reached for my hand.
"Looks like my babe is jealous, Venny," she said, still looking at me.
Immediately, the voice on the phone started laughing softly.
I looked at Sylvia, confused.
"Please tell her I’m just your brother," the man said, still laughing.
Brother?
Her foster parents’ son.
Oh...
Amelia, why again?
I quickly looked down, feeling embarrassed by how easily I had gotten jealous.
My face felt hot. I had jumped to conclusions again without even knowing who she was talking to.
And the worst part?
I had been ready to get upset over it.
I was becoming way too possessive. But could anyone really blame me?
I loved Sylvia.
Maybe a little too much.
"She’s too cute when she’s jealous," Sylvia said, laughing softly.
"Oh, please spare me all that lovey-dovey stuff," Venny said, laughing.
"Fine. I’m coming with my girlfriend." Sylvia squeezed my hand gently. "That way, she can see everyone too."
"Wow, that would be nice." Venny laughed. "Maybe I’ll snatch her away from you."
I immediately looked at Sylvia. She stared at me before pulling me closer.
"Don’t even think about it."
Venny burst out laughing. "Relax, little sister. I’m only teasing you."
Sylvia scoffed. "Good. Because she’s mine."
I couldn’t help smiling at the way she said it.
There was something warm about hearing Sylvia claim me so easily.
"Besides," Venny continued, "I haven’t even met your girlfriend properly yet. I want to see the person who finally managed to make you this obsessed."
Sylvia glanced at me, and her smile softened. "Trust me. You’ll understand when you meet her."
I felt my cheeks heat up. I quickly looked away.
I didn’t know why those simple words affected me so much. Maybe because hearing Sylvia say she was serious about me made something warm settle inside my chest.
Venny laughed again. "Okay, okay. I’ll stop before I make her shy."
"Too late," Sylvia laughed and brought my hand toward her lips, pressing a quick kiss against my knuckles.
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t stop smiling.
"Drake came over yesterday. What’s even wrong with him? Wasn’t he the one who didn’t want to before?" Venny asked, sounding annoyed.
"Don’t talk about him, Venny," Sylvia sighed. "Just tell Mom I’m coming over."
"Okay, I will. But you’re mine today."
"No, I’m not," Sylvia smiled. "I only belong to my girl now."
"Owww, these lovers." Venny sounded a little annoyed. "Fine, fine. As long as I get to spend some time with you because I missed you. You wouldn’t want us to come over, would you?"
Sylvia laughed softly.
"Maybe another time."
"Fine. I’ll tell Mom you’re coming."
"Bye for now. Let me attend to my girlfriend first."
Before Venny could say anything else, Sylvia ended the call and tossed her phone onto the bed.
I stared at her.
She turned toward me with a satisfied smile.
"What?" she asked innocently.
I shook my head, trying not to smile.
"Nothing."
She moved closer. "You’ve been smiling since the call ended."
"I haven’t," I said immediately.
"You have."
I looked away.
Sylvia laughed and reached for my hand, intertwining our fingers. "My jealous little baby."
I sighed. "You really won’t let that go, will you?"
"Never."
I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t stop the small smile that spread across my lips.
Then Sylvia leaned closer and whispered, "Besides, I like knowing you want me all to yourself."
My cheeks warmed immediately. "I never said that."
"You didn’t have to."
She squeezed my hand, her smile growing wider. "I can see it all over your face."
Sylvia moved closer and pulled me toward her. She hugged me from behind, her arms wrapping securely around my waist as she pressed a soft kiss to the back of my neck. Her warm breath brushed against my skin, sending a small shiver through me.
"I can’t imagine myself without you, Amelia," she said, her voice turning serious. "I’m really incomplete without you."
There was something about the sincerity in her voice that made my chest tighten.
She kissed my collarbone, her lips lingering against my skin. Her hand slipped beneath my shirt and reached up, gently cupping my bare breast as her fingers moved softly against me.
I felt the warmth of her body against my back, the steady rhythm of her breathing filling the quiet space between us.
I closed my eyes, biting my lower lip as a wave of warmth rushed through me.
Amelia, what’s wrong with you?
Just her hands on my body, and I’m already a mess.
Sylvia kissed the other side of my neck before slowly moving toward my ear. Her warm breath brushed against it, making my ear twitch and grow hot.
I swallowed hard.
I wasn’t thinking clearly anymore. Every little touch seemed to make my senses even more sensitive, and the warmth of her body pressed against my back wasn’t helping.
I opened my eyes and cleared my throat, trying to regain my composure.
I needed to get away from her.
I tried to pull away, but Sylvia tightened her arms around my waist, holding me firmly against her.
"Babe, please stay."
My body obeyed before I could stop myself.
Sylvia gently squeezed my breast as she pressed her lips against my ear, the warmth of her breath sending a shiver through me.
I gasped, closing my eyes as I threw my head back. My heart pounded against my chest, and I swallowed hard, my breathing growing faster.
It felt as though every nerve in my body was responding to Sylvia’s touch. The warmth of her body behind me, the softness of her lips against my ear, and the steady rhythm of her breathing made it difficult for me to think clearly.
"Babe, do you need me down there?"
