If it weren’t for what happened yesterday, Sora would have thought too much about it.

But now, as she stood beside the newly built house and glanced toward the suspiciously well-positioned windows, she couldn’t help lowering her eyes to look at herself.

Her little belly had basically disappeared.

After all the walking, climbing, and constant activity during her journey, the weight she had gained from her comfortable life in the tribe had already begun to melt away. Although she was still far from being slim, her figure had changed noticeably.

Her waist was more defined, while her chest and rear remained pleasantly full.

Sora stared down at herself for a moment.

Could they really be staring at her figure?

She didn’t even need to look at her face to know what they might be thinking.

Her lips twitched.

"These people..."

She had originally assumed that because of her appearance, no one would pay attention to her. Yet after everything that had happened yesterday, that confidence was beginning to crack.

Still, she refused to overthink it.

Sora ultimately decided not to bathe in the bathtub.

Her water-type ability had already advanced to level three, which allowed her to sense the presence of people within nearby water sources. She carefully checked the surroundings and confirmed that Ryan wasn’t anywhere nearby.

Only then did she take her clothes and leave.

After finding a secluded place, Sora quickly washed herself and changed into a clean beehive-fiber skirt before returning to the tribe.

When she entered the wild kitchen, she was surprised.

The kitchen she hadn’t seen for so long was surprisingly clean.

Everything was organized neatly. Even the wheat ears that had previously been scattered around had been dried and piled carefully to one side.

Sora blinked.

She hadn’t asked anyone to take care of these things before leaving.

So who had done it?

She was still looking around when a familiar figure appeared.

Damien walked toward her with a faint smile on his handsome face. There was a subtle look of anticipation in his eyes, almost as though he were waiting for her to praise him.

"Kaelira, did I do a good job?"

Sora paused.

Then she finally understood.

So all this wheat had been dried by him.

"You did this?"

Damien nodded.

"I saw you turning the wheat occasionally before you left. I thought it needed to be dried properly, so I kept turning it and making sure it stayed dry."

Sora looked at the neatly arranged wheat again.

She couldn’t deny that he had done an excellent job.

She nodded sincerely.

"I noticed you turning them from time to time, so I guessed they needed to be dried. Yes, you did very well."

The praise immediately brought a satisfied smile to Damien’s face.

He looked at her with obvious pleasure.

"Kaelira, since I performed so well..."

He paused deliberately.

Then his eyes became slightly brighter.

"Shall we bond our totems today?"

Sora froze.

Her smile disappeared.

Totem bonding?

Again?

Her mind instantly became alert.

She had almost forgotten that Damien was still waiting for an answer.

"Ah!"

Sora suddenly slapped her forehead lightly.

"I just remembered. I don’t have any wild onions for the eggs I’m making today. I’ll go get some."

Before Damien could react, she turned around and hurried outside.

Her movements were so quick that there was almost a gust of wind behind her.

What a joke!

Damien was still a blind box.

She hadn’t figured out whether he was actually one of the targets she needed to strategize against.

If she rashly bonded her totem with him and later discovered that he wasn’t part of her plan, wouldn’t she have tied herself to a landmine?

Absolutely not.

She needed to be careful.

Behind her, Damien watched Sora disappear around the corner.

He didn’t chase after her.

Instead, the corners of his lips slowly curled upward.

She was really interesting.

And cute.

Unlike the other females in the tribe, who were always dignified and reserved, Sora was completely different.

She acted according to her own thoughts and never seemed afraid of embarrassing herself.

He liked that.

Meanwhile, Sora had already escaped the dangerous topic.

She found some wild onions nearby, washed them thoroughly, and chopped them into small pieces.

Then she scooped several spoonfuls of flour into a clay bowl.

She added water, cracked several eggs into the mixture, and stirred everything together.

Finally, she tossed in the chopped wild onions.

Because she had only managed to sleep for a short while after returning from her journey, she still felt tired.

She didn’t have the energy to prepare an elaborate breakfast.

Simple was enough.

So today, she made egg pancakes.

The batter sizzled when it touched the heated stone surface.

A fragrant aroma soon spread through the wild kitchen.

The smell of eggs mixed with the fresh scent of wild onions, creating a simple but delicious breakfast.

Not long afterward, Lucas, Ace, Damien, and Lukan gathered around the round table.

The meal was simple.

There were no complicated dishes, no elaborate sauces, and no special ingredients.

But to the three men who had gone several days without Sora’s cooking, it was practically a feast.

Lucas picked up an egg pancake and took a huge bite.

His eyes immediately brightened.

Ace was no slower.

He quietly ate one pancake after another, his usually calm expression becoming slightly softer with every bite.

Even Lukan ate much faster than usual.

After so many days without Sora’s cooking, their mouths and stomachs had already been spoiled.

Food that they had once considered delicious now seemed bland.

Meat was either too fishy or too tough.

Vegetables lacked flavor.

Even their usual meals had become difficult to swallow.

Sora’s cooking had completely changed their standards.

Once someone had tasted food prepared by her, returning to ordinary beast-world cooking was almost torture.

Sora watched the three of them eat and couldn’t help smiling faintly.

Then she suddenly noticed an empty seat.

She frowned.

"Where’s Xavier?"

Yesterday evening, when the three men had surrounded her room, Xavier hadn’t appeared.

That had already seemed strange.

Today, he still hadn’t shown up for breakfast.

That was even stranger.

Xavier wasn’t usually the kind of person who would miss a chance to eat her cooking.

Sora took another bite of her pancake.

"Where is he?"

Lucas swallowed his food before casually answering.

"Oh. The chief called him to handle something."

Sora nodded.

"I see."

She didn’t ask anything else.

But on the other side of the tribe, Xavier had been having a very different morning.

The moment he heard that Sora had returned, he had been overjoyed.

If Martin hadn’t summoned him to handle an important matter, Xavier would have followed Sora to the mountain himself.

He had wanted to see her.

He had wanted to know what she had experienced during her journey.

Most importantly, he had wanted to be beside her.

But because of the chief’s orders, he had been forced to stay behind.

After finally completing the tasks Martin had assigned to him, Xavier immediately headed toward the wild kitchen.

He crossed the tribe square at a much faster pace than usual.

His expression was dark.

Almost frighteningly dark.
