Before Sora could finish her sentence, Ryan reached out and gently caught her chin.

She barely had time to react before he lowered his head and kissed her.

For several seconds, Sora simply froze.

Her mind went completely blank.

Then—

Ding!

Congratulations, Host! Ryan’s heartthrob value has reached 99.

Ryan’s attraction value has reached 99.

Sora’s eyes widened.

Ninety-nine?!

She had expected Ryan’s values to increase because of the mirror, but she had never imagined they would suddenly jump this high.

And more importantly...

Ryan had actually kissed her first.

What is happening?

Sora was completely stunned.

She hadn’t even done anything yet.

She had merely brought Ryan into her room to show him the mirror.

She hadn’t expected him to suddenly become so proactive.

If she had known this would happen, she might have simply shown him the mirror from the beginning instead of spending so much effort trying to attract his attention through the bread oven.

Her thoughts became chaotic.

I knew he couldn’t possibly remain indifferent forever.

Outside the hut, however, the situation was completely different.

Ace had been watching through Xavier’s window.

The moment he saw Ryan kiss Sora, his expression changed dramatically.

His anger surged so quickly that he nearly lost control.

"That guy!"

Ace clenched his fists.

He had suspected Ryan was hiding something, but seeing it with his own eyes was another matter entirely.

He turned his furious gaze toward Lucas.

"Didn’t you say Ryan wasn’t interested in Kaelira?"

Lucas’s expression was equally complicated.

"I don’t know."

He genuinely didn’t.

Ryan’s behavior had always been difficult to understand.

The water beastman had never openly pursued Sora.

He rarely showed obvious affection.

Most of the time, he seemed more interested in her inventions than in her herself.

Who could have expected him to suddenly make such a bold move?

Lucas frowned.

"I really can’t understand him."

Xavier didn’t answer.

His expression had become frighteningly calm.

He watched the scene for another moment before abruptly turning away.

"I’ve seen enough."

His voice was cold.

"Let’s go."

He glanced toward the others.

"There’s no point watching anymore."

Then he disappeared.

The others remained silent for a moment.

Ace was still furious.

Lucas looked thoughtful.

Damien, meanwhile, couldn’t help feeling that everything had become absurd.

In the end, the remaining beastmen followed Xavier.

They left with gloomy expressions and headed toward the deep pool.

There was still the small pig they had been preparing earlier.

Someone needed to deal with it.

Perhaps venting their frustration through work would be better than continuing to watch Ryan and Sora.

Inside the wooden hut, Sora was still trying to understand what had just happened.

She had never expected Ryan to take the initiative.

Not today.

Not like this.

Ryan had always given her an unpredictable feeling.

He was interested in technology.

He was fascinated by the things she created.

But when it came to relationships, he seemed distant and difficult to understand.

If it had been Ace, Lucas, or Lukan, Sora might have known how to react.

But Ryan?

She really didn’t dare act recklessly.

She suspected that something had changed inside his mind.

Meanwhile, Ryan was experiencing an entirely different kind of confusion.

The moment his lips touched Sora’s, all the questions that had troubled him for days seemed to find an answer.

Her lips were soft.

Just as he remembered from the hot spring.

That familiar sensation immediately returned.

Ryan’s heartbeat accelerated.

He had spent so much time trying to understand why he kept thinking about Sora.

Now he finally understood.

He didn’t simply want to watch her inventions.

He didn’t only want to eat the food she made.

He wanted to be close to her.

He wanted to spend time with her.

He wanted to know what she would do next.

He wanted to be part of her world.

But another question confused him.

Why was Sora so calm today?

Before, she had been much more proactive.

Yet now she simply stood there, looking stunned.

Ryan slowly pulled back and looked down at her.

"Kaelira?"

His voice was different.

His usual cold tone had softened.

There was a slight huskiness to it, making his voice sound strangely intimate.

Sora’s heart skipped.

Is this really Ryan?

She didn’t know what to say.

Her mind was still processing everything.

Ryan studied her expression.

Why wasn’t she reacting?

Had he done something wrong?

Had he kissed her badly?

He remembered how enthusiastic Sora had been when she had eaten the charm fruit before.

Compared with that, she seemed almost frozen now.

Ryan became uncertain.

Perhaps she didn’t want this?

That thought made his heart tighten.

Inside Sora’s mind, the system was practically shouting.

Host! What are you waiting for?

This is an excellent opportunity!

Why aren’t you taking action?

Sora mentally replied,

Take action?

I don’t dare!

What if Ryan gets scared and backs away afterward?

The system responded immediately.

Ryan’s attraction and heartthrob values are already at 99.

What are you waiting for?

Once the opportunity is gone, it may never return!

Sora hesitated.

She looked at Ryan.

Then at the system notification in her mind.

Ninety-nine.

Both values were almost at their limit.

She knew she couldn’t simply stand there forever.

Her hands trembled slightly.

Finally, she slowly lifted one hand.

She reached toward Ryan’s chest.

But she kept her eyes tightly closed.

She couldn’t believe she was actually doing this.

Her heart was pounding.

This system is seriously unreliable.

Still, she had trusted it this far.

Maybe...

Just maybe...

The system was right.

Ryan noticed her movement.

His eyes widened slightly.

The moment he saw Sora’s hand resting against him, something inside him seemed to break loose.

His eyes softened.

He immediately pulled her into his arms.

Sora’s breath caught.

Everything happened much faster than she expected.

Ryan kissed her again, this time with unmistakable emotion.

Sora hadn’t expected him to react so quickly.

She had only wanted to test the system.

She hadn’t expected Ryan to respond so strongly.

How was he conquered this easily?

Sora was completely bewildered.

She almost wanted to ask the system what exactly had changed inside Ryan.

But before she could gather her thoughts, Ryan’s silver-blue tail curled gently around her legs.

Sora’s eyes widened.

"Ryan—"

Before she could finish, the scenery around them suddenly changed.

There was a flash.

Then—

Splash!

Warm water surrounded them.

Sora’s entire body dropped into the hot spring.

She surfaced almost immediately, staring at Ryan in disbelief.

"This fish!"

He had actually teleported them again.

And without warning!

Sora wiped water from her face.

She had completely lost track of how many times Ryan had managed to surprise her.

Ryan was holding her steadily in the water.

His gaze remained fixed on her.

Sora’s beast-skin skirt had become soaked, clinging closely to her body.

The warm water flowed around them as ripples spread across the surface.

Ryan stared for a moment before quickly looking away.

The memories of the previous night returned again.

The hot spring.

The moonlight.

Their accidental closeness.

Everything suddenly seemed connected.

Ryan’s breathing became heavier.

He had thought he could control himself once he understood his feelings.

But now that he was actually alone with Sora again, he realized that understanding his feelings didn’t necessarily make them easier to control.

Sora noticed his expression and became slightly nervous.

She had originally planned to spend the day showing Ryan various inventions.

Instead, they had somehow ended up back at the hot spring.

Again.

She looked around helplessly.

Why do I always end up with this fish in the water?

Ryan’s gaze finally returned to her face.

His expression was much softer than before.

There was none of his former indifference.

For the first time, Sora could clearly see the change.

Ryan had stopped treating her as merely an interesting female who happened to know many strange things.

He was looking at her differently now.

And Sora suddenly realized something.

The strategy she had spent so much time carefully planning had taken an entirely unexpected turn.

She had tried to win Ryan over through technology.

Through food.

Through inventions.

Through curiosity.

Yet the thing that had pushed his values to ninety-nine had been something she had never planned.

A simple kiss.

Sora couldn’t help wondering whether the system had been manipulating her all along.

But before she could think any further, Ryan gently tightened his hold around her.

"Kaelira."

His voice was low.

She looked up.

Ryan stared at her for several seconds before speaking again.

"I think I finally understand."

Sora’s heart skipped.

"Understand what?"

Ryan didn’t answer immediately.

He simply looked at her.

Then his expression softened.

"I kept thinking I wanted to know what you would create next."

He paused.

"But I think..."

His eyes remained on hers.

"I wanted to see you."

Sora fell silent.

For once, she didn’t know what to say.

The hot spring was quiet around them.

And somewhere far away, the other beastmen were probably still arguing over the poor pig.

But inside the warm water, Sora suddenly realized that Ryan’s strategy value had not risen because she had successfully tricked him.

It had risen because, somewhere along the way, Ryan had begun choosing her for himself.

And that realization was far more unexpected than any system notification.
