Sora’s eyes lit up with excitement.

"Wheat!"

Not only had she found wheat, but it was wild wheat—and there was an entire field of it stretching before her. If they harvested it all, it would provide enough grain for a very long time.

Ever since arriving in this world, she had searched everywhere for staple crops. While gathering clay in the Red Earth, making pottery, and digging for salt, she had never once discovered rice or wheat. She had almost convinced herself that grains simply didn’t exist here.

Yet today, purely by chance, she had stumbled across a golden treasure.

She had missed grains terribly.

After eating meat every single day, she constantly felt as though her body had become heavy and sluggish. No wonder the original Sora had become so overweight. Sometimes she even suspected that an endless meat diet was partly responsible.

Xavier watched her laughing at what looked to him like a patch of yellow weeds, completely unable to understand her excitement.

He had eaten those plants before.

They were bland.

What was there to be happy about?

Sora beamed at him.

"Help me harvest all these wheat stalks. When we get back, I’ll make noodles for everyone."

"Noodles?" Xavier asked curiously. "Didn’t we already eat corn noodles before?"

Sora shook her head with a smile.

"Those were made from corn. Wheat noodles are much better."

The moment he heard that, Xavier stopped asking questions and immediately began harvesting.

Meanwhile, back at the salt cave, the beastmen and wolf tribe members had begun searching.

After checking every corner of the cave and finding no trace of either Sora or Xavier, they spread out around the cave entrance.

More than twenty people searched the surrounding area, yet not a single clue appeared.

Normally, stepping outside for a short while shouldn’t have taken this long.

Ace glanced toward the empty cave before nudging Lucas beside him.

"Do you think those two found somewhere private to fool around?"

Ryan’s lips twitched.

With someone as bold as Sora, did they really need to hide?

She would probably be delighted if that were true.

Before Ryan could respond, Lucas nodded through gritted teeth.

"That snake is smarter than he looks."

"I didn’t expect Xavier to be so cunning."

Ryan fell silent.

Just as he was about to speak, Lukan, who had been examining the grass nearby, suddenly called out.

"The grass here is freshly crushed."

"There are signs that the ground collapsed."

"It looks like they fell from here."

Everyone immediately hurried over.

Ace crouched to inspect the disturbed grass.

Sure enough, the ground had clearly given way after someone stepped on it.

There was even a large imprint where someone had been sitting.

Looking at the unmistakable mark, he rubbed his chin.

"That has to be Sora."

"But Xavier shouldn’t have fallen too."

Ryan quietly stepped forward.

Near the broken edge lay a single purple snake scale.

"It seems he really did."

Lucas crossed his arms, looking thoroughly amused.

"A fifth-level beastman actually falling off a cliff?"

Lukan leaned over the edge, carefully judging the distance.

"It’s high."

"If Xavier jumped down to save Sora, it wouldn’t be surprising."

"Snake beastmen can’t fly like bird beastmen."

"Let’s head down and confirm."

Lucas immediately spread his wings.

"I’ll scout ahead."

He launched into the air but returned only moments later.

Lukan frowned.

"Back already?"

Lucas folded his wings awkwardly.

"The entire bottom is covered in fog."

"I can’t see anything."

Ace couldn’t help laughing.

"You were just mocking Xavier."

Lucas glared at him.

"Keep laughing and see what happens."

The two were about to argue when Lukan interrupted coldly.

"Enough."

"Our priority is finding them."

Ryan closed his eyes and listened quietly.

A few moments later, he pointed toward a narrow ravine.

"I hear running water."

"There should be a river below."

Ace immediately asked,

"So what do we do?"

Ryan replied calmly,

"We follow that ravine."

"It should lead us to the river."

Without wasting another second, the entire group began descending.

The farther they went, the thicker the mist became.

Fortunately, Ryan’s Night Pearl illuminated the winding path, allowing everyone to continue safely despite the heavy fog.

They searched throughout the night without discovering a single trace of Sora or Xavier.

Just as exhaustion began settling in, a burst of laughter drifted through the mist.

Everyone froze.

That voice...

It belonged to Sora.

The group immediately rushed toward the sound.

Elsewhere, Xavier moved swiftly through the golden wheat field.

As expected of a fifth-level beastman, his movements were astonishingly fast. His purple figure darted through the field like a streak of lightning, and before long, neat bundles of wheat were stacked along the riverbank.

Looking at the enormous harvest, Sora could barely contain her joy.

With so much wheat, she would never have to worry about going without grain again.

Truthfully, food had never been scarce in this primitive world. The forests overflowed with edible plants and game, and she had never experienced true hunger here.

What filled her with such satisfaction wasn’t simply finding food.

It was the memory of another life.

Back during the apocalypse, every handful of grain had been priceless.

Resources had been painfully scarce.

Perhaps because of those memories, seeing such an abundant harvest filled her with an indescribable sense of security.

Xavier soon finished harvesting the entire field.

Watching Sora laugh so freely, he couldn’t help remembering everything that had happened between them the previous day.

His gaze gradually deepened.

A snake beastman truly shouldn’t indulge his desires too easily.

Once awakened, they became difficult to suppress.

Still, Xavier had never been someone who restrained himself.

He always acted according to his instincts.

As Sora continued smiling at the golden field, Xavier slowly walked toward her.

He gently lifted her chin.

"The wheat is harvested."

"I’ve finished everything."

His lips curved into a faint smile.

"I think I’ve earned a reward."

After saying this, Xavier leaned down and kissed Sora.

Of course, just a kiss was not enough to satisfy his needs, and his hands inevitably started to move. He tightly hugged Sora, his hands sliding up from her chubby waist.

A wave of tingling sensation swept through Sora’s waist like lightning, causing her body to involuntarily shrink.

How had Xavier become so eager overnight?

"You... mm... Xavier..."
