Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2483: Can’t Drink, Can’t Smoke

The group of people were chatting and joking, everyone in high spirits.

The evening’s collaboration went smoothly, and both parties were quite satisfied.

Suddenly, a deputy manager from the other side stood up and said, "Well, it’s rare to have some free time, how about we go to a KTV tonight and sing? Or we could go to a club!"

"Sure, sure."

"Really? It’s rare to relax once in a while."

A few women were the first to chime in!

They looked like people who had been in this circle for quite some time, appearing very seasoned.

"If there are no objections, then let’s go to KTV. The drinks are on me, I’ll cover the costs!" The deputy manager said heartily.

"Alright, let’s go. Little Jinny, you all have to sing a few songs then, I’ve heard Little Linnie is good at the peacock dance, maybe she could perform to liven things up?"

"Oh, CEO Zaila, you’re too kind, it’s just a matter of word. As long as you don’t mind, I haven’t danced in a while."

Jasmine Yale listened to them discussing, leaned closer to the marketing manager, and whispered, "Manager Quinto, I won’t go, I have matters to attend to tonight."

"What matters? What could you have to do at night? No way, you’re coming." The manager was not willing to accept.

"I’m not feeling well, and I can’t sing," Jasmine Yale said awkwardly.

"Then what can you do? Everyone should have some talent, can’t sing? Can you dance? We can’t be outdone by Sam."

Jasmine Yale felt even more awkward and shook her head, "I can’t do anything, I drank a bit too much tonight, my head hurts, can I go back first? I’ll apologize to you another day."

"You’re just making excuses, you can’t do anything, neither drink nor smoke, what’s the use of having you!"

"I..." Jasmine Yale felt a bit deflated, "I can do business."

"Business? What business? Nobody wants to hear business talk at the dinner table! Seems like you haven’t learned anything tonight. No excuses, come to the KTV, nobody drinks less alcohol than you, yet nobody is as fragile as you."

Jasmine Yale was scolded thoroughly.

She felt it was true.

Starting is always difficult, but if you grit your teeth and get through it, you’ll surely become more familiar and adept.

In the end, she conceded and nodded, "I’ll go then."

"Don’t make it seem like I’m forcing you, if you don’t want to go, you can leave now!"

"No, I want to go."

"Hmph." The marketing manager snorted coldly, showing contempt.

Jasmine Yale knew he just had a bad temper, but was not a bad person. If he didn’t want to train her, he wouldn’t have brought her here.

After speaking, Manager Quinto went to chat with others.

Jasmine Yale sat alone, ate some desserts to pad her stomach, and sent a text to Butler Santana saying she wouldn’t be going back, not knowing when they would finish singing—possibly all night.

She wasn’t familiar with the people around her, so she just bowed her head and ate, finishing off desserts and then some fruits.

The private room was very lively, noisy and bustling, with the strong smell of cigarettes.

Jasmine Yale was unaccustomed to the smell of smoke, frowned, trying hard to adapt.

The winter watermelon wasn’t sweet, tasteless in her mouth, very bland like watery soup.

After eating a few pieces, she felt cold and stopped eating.

It was nearing eleven o’clock, and the group was in high spirits, chatting away happily.

At half past eleven, someone finally stood up and suggested going to the KTV, to continue chatting there.

Everyone had no objections, surprisingly unanimous.

Jasmine Yale had no objections either, followed behind them, put on her coat, and left the private room in high heels.
