Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2486: Will Caddel’s Words Are Rather Reserved

Will Caddel strode toward his own car.

His driver was already waiting, and he opened the back door, waiting for Jasmine Yale to come over.

Jasmine didn’t linger any longer, quickening her pace to match Will Caddel’s and sat in the car.

The car was warm, with a hint of lavender smell.

Once Jasmine was seated, Will Caddel got in, sitting beside her.

The car door closed, making it much warmer inside than outside.

"Drive," Will Caddel instructed.

"Yes, CEO Caddel."

Jasmine’s coat still carried Will Caddel’s body heat, making her feel a bit uneasy, so she took it off: "Thank you, CEO Caddel, I’m not cold anymore."

"It’s past eleven at night, how can you not be cold, standing outside all alone?"

"I was waiting for Manager Quinto and the others, they asked me to wait at the door."

"They’ve all had too much to drink," Will Caddel said helplessly, "If they don’t come, will you keep waiting at the door?"

"I would... wait for a bit."

"Ha." Will Caddel looked at her with surprise, "Haven’t seen someone as naive as you for a long time."

"I’m not naive," Jasmine retorted.

Will Caddel’s words were quite subtle, the so-called "naive" was essentially calling her stupid.

He had spared her some dignity.

But Jasmine was still quite embarrassed...

"Did you just have a disagreement at the entrance?" Will Caddel asked.

"Just someone I know, not really a disagreement, just mutual dislike."

"I heard her cursing at you."

"You... heard it." Jasmine felt even more uncomfortable, "I cursed at her too, it wasn’t a loss."

"Childish."

"I..." Jasmine suddenly fell silent, the intelligence of these privileged figures wasn’t something mere mortals like them could match. In their eyes, her and Erin Janus’s behavior was probably akin to a childish squabble of three-year-olds.

"UT law is unforgiving, verbal abuse and physical conflicts can lead to detention if there’s evidence. I don’t like wasting time on these matters. If you need, I can lend you my lawyer."

"It’s not that serious, I won’t encounter her often."

"Hmm, no matter what, protecting yourself is paramount."

"I understand."

Jasmine reflected inwardly, engaging in verbal sparring was indeed a time-wasting, worthless endeavor.

The car moved through the night.

For a while, the car fell silent.

Jasmine inhaled the faint floral scent inside the car, feeling a mix of drunkenness and sleepiness, becoming drowsy.

"Do you sing?" Will Caddel suddenly asked, his deep voice quite pleasing.

Jasmine laughed awkwardly, "I can’t sing, tone-deaf."

"You have a nice voice, you should sing well."

Jasmine felt her heart skip a beat, a bit embarrassed, and after a while, she asked, "CEO Caddel, can you sing?"

"Me? Not really."

Jasmine chuckled, she suspected as much.

Will Caddel didn’t seem like someone who would sing, though he wasn’t pretentious, he was mature and composed.

"CEO Caddel, I’ve been meaning to return the handkerchief from last time."

"What’s the point, no need."

"I haven’t used it, it’s still clean."

"You handle it," Will Caddel said indifferently.

"Oh, okay," Jasmine said no more.

The car continued forward, in the darkness, Will Caddel’s profile faded into the night, with his facial contours appearing more resolute.

The KTV wasn’t far from the hotel, and they soon arrived.
