The next day, Will Caddel took her to the tea house as promised.
The tea house was right in the city center, on the seventy-third floor. It was a blend of Eastern and Western styles. The left side had a traditional Chinese decor with an antique charm, while the right side showcased a sleek, modern Western design.
However, there was no partition between the two sides, allowing the aromas to blend together. The fragrance of Longjing tea subtly mingled with the scent of Earl Grey, and the fruity notes of fruit tea were infused with the rich aroma of Pu’er, making it quite interesting.
"Is the owner American?" Jasmine Yale asked Will Caddel curiously.
"No, he’s from Kong Hong."
"You people from Kong Hong really know how to do business," Jasmine remarked, looking around.
Will Caddel laughed, "So, do you want to go left or right?"
"Is there any particular significance?"
"Not really, it’s up to you. Whichever tea you feel like having today, that’s the direction you should go. Of course, if you have to find some significance, ’left’ means conservative and traditional, and ’right’ means progressive and open. But honestly, it’s just tea."
"Well, I want to have fruit tea today, so should I go left or right?"
Will made a gesture, "To the right."
He chose a spot by the window, where they had a panoramic view of UT’s city center.
Cars were bustling on the streets, lively and noisy.
Inside the tea house, people were leisurely enjoying their time, not busy at all.
Jasmine ordered a signature fruit tea, a blend made from various fruits, aptly named "Sleeping Beauty."
"Why is it called Sleeping Beauty?" Jasmine asked Will curiously.
"The tea brews to a deep blue color, which is beautiful. The fruit settles at the bottom of the cup, just like a Sleeping Beauty beneath the sea."
"I see, got it."
Will ordered a cup of black tea and also got some pastries for Jasmine.
The view here was expansive, making one feel relaxed, with a sense of grandeur as if taking in all the mountains beneath you.
The waiter soon came over.
The "Sleeping Beauty" was indeed beautiful, and Jasmine exclaimed with delight when she received it, amazed by its beauty.
"Try it, it tastes great," he said.
Jasmine took a sip; it was two parts sour and eight parts sweet, perfectly balanced.
"CEO Caddel, you have excellent taste. How did you find this place?"
"It’s not my first business trip to Old York. I’ve tried many tea houses here, and this one is the best so far, so I brought you here to give it a try."
Jasmine felt that Will was someone who really knew how to enjoy life, and he certainly had a unique taste and eye for things.
She sipped her fruit tea and nibbled on pastries, feeling quite happy.
Occasionally, she would glance at the view from the seventy-third floor, feeling at ease with the blue sky and bustling city.
"Didn’t sleep well last night? You have dark circles," Will remarked, sipping his cup of black tea.
"Is it that bad? Woke up a few times during the night, maybe because I’m not used to it."
"Not bad, it doesn’t affect your beauty," Will replied with a smile.
Jasmine laughed, "Will, you can be quite the flatterer."
"I don’t flatter often. It depends on my mood."
"So, you’re in a good mood now?"
"Yes, very good."
Jasmine smiled, her eyes curved like a crescent moon, dimples appeared at the corners of her mouth. She lowered her head, cut a slice of bread, and placed it on Will’s plate, "Will, try this cheese bread; the flavor is very authentic."
"Alright," he accepted without hesitation.
Just as they were enjoying their morning tea, a shadow suddenly fell beside them.
