Not long after, Kieran Janus came in with an elderly man whose hair had gone gray.
The old man seemed to be ill, sitting in a wheelchair, and it was Kieran who was pushing him along.
"Dad! Grandpa!" Erin called out in English, standing up with her pregnant belly, ready to assist Grandpa James.
"Hmm." Kieran responded, "Erin, just sit down; you’re pregnant, don’t move around too much."
Sylvan Cheney walked over and held the wheelchair, maintaining a calm expression: "President Janus, let me."
Before Kieran could speak, Grandpa James became displeased first: "You and Erin are already together, you even have a child, and you’re still calling me President Janus?"
"Oh, that was my oversight, sorry." Sylvan Cheney apologized, "Dad, Grandpa."
"Alright, Grandpa, why are you so serious, Evan couldn’t switch up immediately." Erin came over to smooth things over, and peeled a grape as well, "Grandpa, does the grape taste good? Your granddaughter peeled it just for you."
"Delicious, delicious." Grandpa James ate the grape, looking contented and affectionately at Erin.
At home, the one he dotes on the most is this granddaughter, to the point where he would give her anything she wants, plucking stars if she asked for them, or the moon if she desired it.
Erin is also especially filial to him, which makes him even more satisfied.
"Dad, Grandpa, let’s eat, Evan and I have been waiting for you for quite a while. Look at this table full of dishes, all picked by Evan. He has good taste, is picky about food, so the dishes he picked must be delicious." Erin said, touching her belly.
"Not bad." Kieran complimented.
"Exactly, Dad, you should eat more." Erin said with a cheerful smile.
Only then did Sylvan Cheney release his hand, sitting beside Grandpa James to accompany him for dinner.
For the most part, Grandpa James remained silent; he wasn’t in good health and preferred not to speak, but occasionally he would chat with Sylvan Cheney about the financial markets.
Having stepped back from business, he spent most of his time resting at his villa, but he still had some interest in the financial markets now and then.
They talked about the markets, then about securities, stocks, and financing.
Sylvan Cheney was quite adept in this area, very skilled, with a unique perspective and sharp insights, so each of his responses earned a nod of approval from Grandpa James.
Erin winked: "Grandpa, isn’t my husband amazing? He is, right... isn’t he just amazing..."
"Yes, yes." Grandpa James doted on this granddaughter.
The atmosphere at the dining table was lively, with Erin being the most talkative.
When Sylvan Cheney and Grandpa James were chatting, Erin would chat with Kieran.
"Evan, Erin grew up being spoiled and has never suffered, so you must treat her well." Grandpa James leaned closer to Sylvan Cheney, speaking very frankly, "I originally thought you weren’t the best choice for her, but she loves you, and she’s carrying your child, so there’s nothing I can do."
"I will treat her well." Sylvan Cheney promised.
"Hmm, that’s good enough. Erin will be giving birth in two months, so it’ll be hard on you during this time."
"It’s my duty," Sylvan Cheney acknowledged.
"Grandpa, don’t pressure Evan too much, he’s always been very good to me, especially good... See, look at this bracelet, he bought it for me while we were out shopping one night, isn’t it pretty?" Erin shook the bracelet on her hand.
"Very pretty." Grandpa James looked at his granddaughter, filled with affection.
But he wasn’t in the best health, so he didn’t talk too much with Sylvan Cheney and quietly ate dinner.
Because of Erin’s presence, the table’s atmosphere was lively, and it didn’t feel awkward.
