Fated love: the unwanted bride

Chapter 2586: How About Getting a Room at a Hotel?

"Dad, Evan and I will see you off."

"No need, with your big belly, it’s inconvenient. My car is downstairs, just let Evan see me off."

"Alright, Evan, you take Dad downstairs. I’ll wait for you."

"Okay," Sylvan Cheney replied.

Kieran Janus walked out of the restaurant, with Sylvan Cheney beside him.

Probably due to the alcohol, Kieran Janus’ face was flushed, and he kept frowning. A few waiters followed behind them, escorting them to the parking lot.

"Evan, Erin has kept you busy lately, hasn’t she? It’s her first pregnancy, inevitably there’s some tension and fear, please take good care of her."

"I know."

"She was spoiled by me and her grandfather growing up, her personality is rather pampered. Can you pamper her in the future?"

"I will treat her well."

"As long as you say that, I can rest easy. You’re similar to me in personality, not much into talking. Actions speak louder than words, just take good care of Erin. Your daughter will be born soon, I’m really happy as a father. Little Sweetie, what a nice name."

He walked with Sylvan Cheney to the parking lot, and Sylvan Cheney helped him get into the car.

"Alright, go back, Erin is waiting for you upstairs. You should take more charge of the financial district project, it’s in development stage now, can’t afford any mistakes, thank you for your hard work."

"Dad, rest assured, just wait for the year-end performance report, I’ll give you satisfactory results."

"With your assurance, I’m completely at ease. Your talent and ability make me utterly confident."

Kieran Janus got in the car.

Sylvan Cheney stood by the roadside, watching him leave.

The wind outside was strong, indeed it had cooled down, summer vanished in the blink of an eye, ushering in another desolate autumn.

The leaves from the roadside landscaping trees fell at his feet, Sylvan Cheney lowered his head, eyes fixed on the leaves below.

The street lamps stretched his shadow, the dim light casting a soft halo over his face, where the sculpted shadows accentuated his sharp features.

After a while, he raised his head, eyes level and looking forward.

Across the street at the mall entrance, Jasmine Yale and Will Caddel walked out side by side, both holding various shopping bags, chatting and laughing, heading toward the parking lot.

Jasmine Yale wore a hat that seemed newly purchased.

Sylvan Cheney’s gaze sharpened, a sarcastic laugh escaped, a profound light flashed in his eyes.

He turned and headed upstairs, taking the elevator back to the restaurant.

Erin Janus was still eating fruit, saw Sylvan Cheney coming up, quickly stood: "Evan, you’re back, has Dad gone home?"

"He’s gone." Sylvan Cheney took the suit jacket from the clothing rack and put it on.

"What about us, Evan... how about we... get a room at the hotel tonight?" Erin Janus suggested shyly, her cheeks flushed.

Sylvan Cheney buttoned his coat, "It’s not appropriate with your pregnancy."

"Didn’t I specifically ask the doctor during the check-up today? The doctor said it’s fine now, just be gentle. And... pregnant women have needs too, don’t you? Don’t you have any?"

"Do I seem like that kind of beast? It’s okay, I can hold back, I need to think about the child." Sylvan Cheney glanced at her and smiled.

Erin Janus, seeing him say so, had to give up, pouting, "Alright, as you say, I know you’re doing it for my sake. Don’t worry, Little Sweetie will be born healthy."

"Shall I drive you back to the villa?"

"What about you?" Erin Janus asked.

"The construction site is still working overtime, I’ll go check it out."
