Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All
Chapter 283-Checking Out My Ass JigglingVerity:
Then he stepped back, turned around, and walked toward the door.
He opened it and left me alone in the bathroom.
I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.
Technically, my plan had worked. He would go outside, and I was pretty sure he would try to get rid of his grandmother.
But why did it hurt so much?
Why did part of me feel so defeated?
"Um, Grandma, I need to change my clothes," I heard Ragnar say, and I immediately moved toward the bathroom door to hear what was going on outside.
"Fine, I’ll look away," Lady Lucille commented.
"Um, no. How about you wait in your room? I’ll be there in a minute," Ragnar said.
He didn’t sound like his usual self, almost as if he’d lost his spark. But maybe it was because he had fucking rejected my touch. I didn’t know.
"All right, but come— come in a minute," she replied.
I heard her start to walk away.
"You know what? I’ll wait outside the door. You change your clothes in two minutes, and then we’ll walk into my room, where we’ll talk."
I heard her grunt, making Ragnar let out a scoff.
"Grandma, do we have to do it so early?" he questioned.
She began to scoff even louder.
"That is why I’m taking you with me, because I know you’ll make up the excuse that it’s too early in the morning. So come on. Since you’re so uncomfortable talking in your own room, let’s do it in mine."
Lady Lucille walked out, and I heard the door close.
Then there was some shuffling and rustling before the bathroom door opened, and I watched Ragnar look at me.
He had changed into a gray shirt and black shorts.
I made it seem like I was still trying to hold on to the walls and everything around me to compose myself.
"Listen, stay in my room. I’ll speak with my grandma, come back, and then I’ll carefully sneak you back to your room myself. You hear me?" he said, warning me with his eyes not to make a mess or a sound that might let others know about me being in his bedroom.
I just nodded.
"Good," he muttered before starting to walk away.
I gave him the faintest nod and watched him walk out.
The minute he did, I sprinted like my life depended on it. I rushed out and quickly started going through his wardrobe and closet before my eyes landed on his side table.
It was literally in my line of sight.
I approached it and opened the first drawer. There was my cell phone.
I picked it up and unlocked it. The minute I opened the chat, I noticed something odd.
He had sent Oliver a text from my phone.
So, he had realized he couldn’t get any details from my phone because it was fairly new. But at the same time, he’d decided to see how Oliver would respond to me.
And well, well, well, the very first thing Oliver had said was, "Hi, bitch."
I smiled, realizing Ragnar would have a good chance of catching him based on the difference between how he spoke to me privately and how he spoke to me in front of everyone.
Then I moved my fingers away and noticed a new number pop up on my screen.
That was where the video had come from.
My fingers hovered over the video. My hands were shaking. I could tell what kind of video it was.
After memorizing the number, I deleted the conversation.
I did not open the video.
I remembered how anxious Jenna was. I did not want to look her in the eye and tell her I had seen it.
Once I had deleted the video, I still held my phone in my hands when I turned around and saw him.
It was Ragnar.
I hadn’t even realized when he’d come back. He had entered so silently that, despite his large frame, he startled me.
He stared at me and then at the phone.
"What are you doing with it?" he asked.
His tone alone told me he was suspicious.
"There are no games in it," I pouted, holding the phone out to him. "I want games," I complained.
He slapped his forehead, snatched the phone out of my hand, locked the screen, and put it back in his drawer.
"I’m taking you to your room right now, okay?" he said, warning me with his finger to keep my voice down.
I nodded and then stretched my hand out to him.
"What?" he demanded, standing with his hands on his waist and his head tilted.
"Hold my hand. I don’t wanna get lost," I pouted, speaking in a very wasted tone.
Every time I spoke like that, putting on a drunken voice, I watched his jaw clench.
"Fine, then you’ll lose me around here," I said, keeping my hand stretched out, but he suddenly took it.
Our arms remained stretched between us, his hand holding mine.
A spark, an electric current, went through my body.
I didn’t show it, though.
"Let’s go," he hissed.
He carefully led me out, keeping me close behind his broad back as he checked the hallway before every turn, making sure no one saw us until he finally slipped me back into my wing.
"Now go straight to your room," he warned, pointing a finger at me.
I nodded and skipped ahead of him toward my room.
I heard him grunt, possibly because I was still wet and he could still see my ass jiggling.
When I reached my door, I turned around briefly and noticed he was still standing there. He quickly looked away.
Wait, was he checking me out?
Smiling, I entered the room and let out the deep breath I had been holding this whole time.
I needed to get to Jenna and have a very serious conversation with her now.
I made sure my door was locked, then changed into a baggy pair of blue pants and a white top before climbing out of my window and landing in Jenna’s room.
