Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All
Chapter 340-While He Sleeps Beside MeVerity:
After such a restless night and so much drama, Theodore had fallen asleep beside me.
Hours passed, and his phone rang several times.
Not once did I wake him.
I was wide awake. I could see Jaguar, Ragnar, and Gigi’s parents calling him repeatedly, but I had no intention of disturbing his sleep.
My revenge had only just begun.
Restlessness had finally started creeping into their lives. Why would I make things easier for them now?
I smiled to myself, imagining how worried his brothers must be while Theodore lay peacefully beside me.
Eventually, I noticed his eyelids beginning to flutter.
He was waking up.
I immediately closed my eyes and pretended to be asleep. Otherwise, he would probably question why I hadn’t woken him when everyone kept calling.
I wasn’t going to make the same mistakes Gigi had been making.
She thought she was so clever, but lately, she had started cracking under pressure and making careless mistakes.
Not me.
I was careful.
A moment later, I felt Theodore shift beside me.
Because my eyes were closed, I had to rely entirely on the sounds around me and the movement of the mattress.
"Hello?" Theodore answered the phone in a sleepy voice.
His phone was loud, and he was lying so close to me that I could practically hear Ragnar on the other end.
It also helped that Ragnar was shouting.
"Where the fuck were you, Theodore?"
"What’s going on? What time is it?" Theodore asked, still disoriented.
"What do you mean, what time is it? Did you seriously go home just to fucking fall asleep while the rest of us are losing our minds out here?"
The urgency in Ragnar’s voice made it obvious that things had gotten worse.
"Wait. Tell me what’s going on. Did you find Gigi?" Theodore asked.
But Ragnar only grew more agitated.
"Just fucking come here. I’m sending you the location. We found her car abandoned on the side of the road."
A wave of satisfaction moved through me when I heard that.
Wherever Gigi was, she was clearly suffering, and the thought brought me more pleasure than it should have.
Still, another thought occurred to me.
If I knew Gigi as well as I thought I did, then she had probably done this deliberately.
She wanted attention, and she had certainly gotten it.
After everything her brother had been exposed for, she had somehow managed to turn everyone’s attention back onto herself.
But this wasn’t over.
Even if she returned, something had already cracked between her and the brothers.
And before that fracture had any chance to heal, I would make it wider.
"I’m coming. Just send me the location."
Theodore ended the call immediately.
For a few seconds, though, he didn’t move.
Then I felt his lips against my cheek.
"I’ll be back soon," he whispered into my ear before kissing me once more.
A moment later, he climbed out of bed.
That was when I began to stir, pretending to wake up with a yawn.
Because suddenly, I wanted to go too.
I wanted to stand there and watch all of them panic.
"What happened? Did they find Gigi?"
I pretended that her name was the first thing on my mind the moment I woke up.
"No, but they found her car abandoned. Ragnar is really worried. I have to go," Theodore replied.
"I’m coming with you."
The moment I said it and started getting out of bed, Theodore shook his head.
"No. It’ll only make me more worried. There’s already too much going on, and I don’t want you there. Besides, Ragnar has completely lost his mind. He’s screaming at everyone. It would really bother me if he spoke badly to you."
His words immediately gave me another idea.
I wanted Ragnar to be rude to me.
After all, the next step was obvious.
Create a fracture between the brothers.
"No, Theodore. I don’t care what you say. Even if someone yells at me, I’m still going to stand beside you."
I said it casually, as if I had no idea how much those words would affect him.
He only stared at me in awe, probably shocked by how supportive I seemed.
"Come on, get dressed quickly," I told him before hurrying into the closet and grabbing a black dress.
After putting it on, I went into the bathroom and took my time showering.
I knew Theodore was restless, but I also knew he wouldn’t tell me to hurry.
By the time I finally walked out, he was sitting on the couch in a white shirt and black pants, anxiously tapping his foot.
But the moment he looked up and saw me, some of the tension eased from his face.
He walked over, took my hand, and together we headed toward his car.
Halfway there, though, I slipped my hand out of his.
I didn’t want anyone else seeing us like that because Theodore wasn’t the only person I was supposed to be with.
At least, not yet.
The drive took almost an hour, and Ragnar kept calling Theodore throughout the journey.
Eventually, we reached an isolated road outside the Pack border, where several warriors’ vehicles had gathered.
The moment our car stopped, I saw Ragnar and Jaguar gesture for Theodore to come over.
Neither of them seemed to realize I was with him.
But as soon as I stepped out from the other side of the car, Jaguar frowned and Ragnar rolled his eyes.
"What is she doing here?" Ragnar hissed at Theodore as we approached.
"She wanted to come," Theodore replied sharply, clearly irritated that Ragnar was questioning my presence.
"Everything will be okay," Jaguar mouthed to me.
As if I fucking cared.
Still, I gave him a shy, miserable nod.
Then I noticed his gaze drop toward my foot, which was still wrapped in a bandage.
"She abandoned her car," Jaguar explained. "Her phone, wallet, everything was left inside."
"What if someone kidnapped her?" Theodore suggested.
Of course they still cared about her.
She hadn’t completely lost her place in their hearts yet.
