Chapter 1144 - 1143: Don’t Even Think About It This LifetimeChapter 1144: Chapter 1143: Don’t Even Think About It This Lifetime
She forced an awkward smile and turned around to keep heading upstairs.
"Shirley Grant, I like you."
Behind her, Andrew Davidson’s voice sounded from her back.
The previous careless, cocky tone was gone, and there were no more cynical, probing words.
This time, he said it plainly and clearly, without the slightest bit of concealment.
Like?
So direct.
For a moment, Shirley Grant had no idea how to face him at all; it was too sudden.
"Andrew Davidson, don’t joke around."
Shirley Grant gave an awkward laugh. After she spoke, she waved her hand, trying to act as if nothing had happened.
"I like you!"
Andrew Davidson repeated once more. After he spoke, he stood up and came to stand in front of her.
"Shirley Grant, in this lifetime you can forget about leaving this place, you can forget about leaving me!"
Shirley Grant stared at Andrew Davidson in utter shock, completely incredulous.
"What’s wrong with you? I told you before, I have a family, I have a son. Why are you still like this?"
"Do you know I’m a married woman? I have a husband."
At this moment, Shirley Grant had no choice but to lie. Only by saying this might Andrew Davidson give up.
"Who cares about that? I like you. I don’t care whether you have a husband or not!"
Shirley Grant: ......
Is there something wrong with his brain?
"Andrew Davidson, are you crazy?"
"Yeah!"
Andrew Davidson suddenly raised his voice and flat-out roared.
"I’m crazy, I must be crazy to like you!"
He was a famous figure in Sicily, with countless women lining up, wanting to marry him.
Yet he actually fell for a woman like this.
He, Andrew Davidson, who was like a favored son of heaven, actually liked a married woman.
This in itself was something insane.
All this time, he’d been locked in an inner struggle.
"Wake up a little, you’re destroying someone else’s family!"
"Smack!"
Shirley Grant swung a slap across, the loud sound echoing through the Living Room.
Andrew Davidson turned his face to the side, his left cheek quickly flushing red, the outline of a slap slowly appearing.
Silence, a deathly kind of silence.
Shirley Grant felt her right hand hanging at her side tingling and numb, the blood in her palm pounding.
The pain shot up to her brain, and in that moment, what she actually thought was: if her hand hurt this much, Andrew Davidson’s face must hurt like hell.
She thought, she must be crazy too.
Andrew Davidson stood there, lifting his hand to clench into a fist and rub at his flushed cheek.
"Hate me that much?"
He curled his lips into a cold smile and slowly turned back to look at Shirley Grant.
"Hm?"
His tone lifted slightly at the end, making Shirley Grant involuntarily take a step back.
"Yeah, I hate you. In this whole world, the person I hate most is you."
She’d clearly been just about to go home, but now?
This was all Andrew Davidson’s fault.
"Then just keep on hating."
After Andrew Davidson finished speaking, he dropped straight down onto the sofa.
"Shirley Grant, in this lifetime don’t even think about running away, don’t even think about it!"
"Why?"
Shirley Grant didn’t understand. How exactly had she offended him?
"Unless you accept me."
"Impossible!"
Shirley Grant refused without hesitation.
"You’ll agree. I can promise you, a week after you agree, I’ll go back to your country with you once."
Go back home?
Those two words carried a huge kind of magic.
She stood there, her whole body trembling a little, itching to sprint back home right this second.
She wanted to see Gerry Peary, wanted to see Alan Morgan.
But...
There were conditions attached, and they were far too harsh.
She stood there, and her tears started streaming down.
"In your dreams!"
After she finished, she walked straight out of the Living Room.
