Chapter 1237 - 1236: Anne Davidson, Don’t Be So Naive

Chapter 1237: Chapter 1236: Anne Davidson, Don’t Be So Naive

She would prefer to believe there’s some misunderstanding involved, but...

Will it really be the way she hopes?

"Anne isn’t here; she’s staying in the villa arranged by Young Master Peary."

However, Grandpa Davidson didn’t know that Maxwell Peary wasn’t living in that villa.

And even more so, he had no idea that Anne’s current status was not legitimate.

"Impossible!"

Annie simply couldn’t believe it; given Grandpa Davidson’s fondness for Anne, he would certainly want to keep her.

"You should call Anne out, so you don’t regret it later."

Annie raised her voice, telling herself not to pay attention to the person in front of her.

Just pretend Grandpa Davidson isn’t her relative.

She had already left the Davidson Family, so she had to be ruthless.

The noise outside quickly penetrated inside.

Anne, having just washed up and put Oliver Peary to sleep, curiously came out.

"Annie?"

Anne was very surprised to see Annie here; hadn’t she already been expelled from the Davidson Family?

Could it be that she’s trying to return to the family?

That can’t happen, if Annie comes back, wouldn’t all of the Davidson Family’s possessions be split fifty-fifty?

"Annie, why are you here?"

Looking at her, Anne walked over with a smile, her face gentle.

This kind of Anne made it hard for anyone to believe she would do such things.

"My presence here shouldn’t be a surprise for you, should it?"

She worked for Young Master Peary, and now, given the major incident with him, why did Anne seem completely unaffected?

"I’m no fortune teller; how could I have predicted you’d come?"

Anne smiled, then looked at Grandpa Davidson.

"Grandpa, really, there’s a guest at the door, yet you’re not inviting them into the living room."

Anne seemed to speak the words unintentionally, then looked gently at Annie.

"Come inside and sit, it’s still a bit cold outside."

She had just finished bathing and was wearing very little.

"Come in and sit."

Grandpa Davidson, clearly displeased, snorted before heading toward the living room first.

"Sorry, Grandpa is just like that, don’t take it personally."

Anne said apologetically, addressing Annie directly.

It seemed as if Anne were the owner here and Annie merely a guest.

"I know his temperament, and I’m even more familiar with it than you are."

Glancing at Anne, Annie refrained from making idle conversation and instead stepped directly toward the living room.

The living room had evidently been rearranged profoundly and bore many differences from its previous setup.

Annie found a place casually and sat down, then looked at Grandpa Davidson.

"Although I am no longer part of the Davidson Family, considering the kindness of upbringing, I still have to give you a friendly warning so things don’t spiral out of control."

Seeing Grandpa Davidson’s guarded expression toward her, Annie found it slightly amusing.

"Annie, I let you enter the Martial Arts Academy out of regard for the past. If you came just to say these things, then you can leave now."

Grandpa Davidson spoke with irritation, his voice full of suppressed anger.

Seeing his demeanor, Annie chuckled and turned her gaze to Anne.

"I don’t know why you suddenly returned to the country, but... Anne, Young Master Peary’s current methods are not something you can handle, you’d better keep your tail hidden."
