Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot
Chapter 1243 - 1242: All Men Are the SameChapter 1243: Chapter 1242: All Men Are the Same
The butler Goldsmith looked at Anne Davidson in a very foul mood and did not let her in.
"I’m not senile yet, how could I not remember you?"
He was perfectly fine, how could his memory be bad?
To Frederick Goldsmith’s ears, what Anne Davidson just said was the most vicious thing.
Hearing this, Anne’s mouth twitched.
She really didn’t mean it like that, okay?
It’s just that she hadn’t come back for many years. Not remembering her or not recognizing her, that’s perfectly normal, isn’t it?
"Butler Goldsmith, is Maxwell at home?"
She had gone to great lengths to find out that Maxwell Peary was now living in the mid-levels Villa.
You have to know, Maxwell Peary had way too many properties, any random Villa could be where he was staying.
She just hadn’t expected that Maxwell Peary would ignore the Villa closer to the Company and come live at this mid-levels Villa instead.
"The young master isn’t home, but the young madam is."
As he spoke, Frederick Goldsmith glanced at Nia Mitchell standing in the Living Room.
Anne froze for a moment, staring at a certain "little Rabina Mitchell" in bear-print pajamas, finding it a bit hard to believe.
Dressed like that, she was clearly just a kid.
It was really unbelievable that this was the type Maxwell Peary liked now.
"Nia Mitchell, your outfit..."
Nia stood there, lowered her head, and looked at her own clothes.
"I’m at home, so of course I’ll dress however I want."
Nia pouted a little, sounding not very confident, but still forced herself to speak up.
Even if she got all dressed up and looked stunning, what good would that do?
Right now Uncle only liked her, and besides, Uncle had already married her; it was all perfectly aboveboard.
This Anne Davidson was never going to get her way.
"Even at home, you still need to be mindful of the impression you give."
Saying that, Anne walked straight in.
"This is my home, what’s it got to do with you?"
Nia shot back unceremoniously, giving Anne a side-eye.
"What kind of talk is that? I’m just kindly reminding you, and you’re meeting a guest dressed like this—doesn’t that make you rude?"
Who walks around all over the place in pajamas?
Unless they’re sleepwalking!
"No one invited you over, yet you’re here criticizing me. That makes no sense."
Guest, huh?
Who shows up at someone’s door knocking early in the morning?
Are they even that close?
Right now Nia was like a little fiery chili pepper, completely ignoring Anne’s expression.
In the past she might have let herself be bullied, but now there was absolutely no way she would let anyone push her around.
"So ill-mannered. I’m here because I have something to discuss with Maxwell."
She had just not expected Maxwell Peary to be out so early.
"Butler Goldsmith, could you get me a glass of orange juice?"
Anne smiled broadly at Frederick Goldsmith.
Seeing her like this, Frederick frowned, hesitated for a moment, and then turned around toward the kitchen.
As soon as the butler left, the smile on Anne’s face instantly vanished.
"I really never imagined Maxwell would get involved with a little girl like you."
She spoke as she sat down on the sofa, as if she were the actual lady of the house.
Seeing her act like that, Nia couldn’t even be bothered to respond.
"Nia Mitchell, you’re barely twenty, and you’re willing to do anything for money. Do you really think someone like you can keep a man like Maxwell locked down? He’s just after a momentary thrill."
The person Maxwell Peary loved was only her.
There could never be a second one.
"What man doesn’t like fooling around? Who doesn’t prefer someone younger? That’s the only way they can satisfy their macho egos."
