Chapter 108: Chapter 108

Lane took a deep breath before standing up from her swivel chair. Ethan must have noticed, because he immediately looked up at her.

Their eyes locked instantly. She saw that he didn’t turn away, his intense gaze fixed on hers until she finally stopped right in front of him.

"Is something wrong?" he asked softly.

She shook her head. "No," she replied, her voice turning serious.

"But can we talk?"

He paused for a beat. She could see the anxiety flare in his eyes as he picked up on her tone, but he quickly shook it off and nodded. He moved over on the sofa, making room for her to sit beside him.

Lane sat down, remaining silent for a moment to gather her thoughts. "I’ve made a decision, Ethan."

He furrowed his brow, looking completely puzzled. "About what?"

She looked him straight in the eye. "I’m going to introduce you to Calvin."

Ethan looked stunned, his brain seemingly short-circuiting as he processed her words. When it finally clicked, his eyes went wide.

"What... what did you say?"

"I’m going to tell Calvin you’re his Daddy, Ethan," she repeated.

Her voice trembled, and she had to blink rapidly to keep the tears from falling.

She had promised herself she’d wait until he was ready, but after hearing what he said while she was sick, how much he wished Ethan were his real father, she knew the time was now.

He didn’t just feel a connection. He felt Ethan’s love. She wanted to give him exactly what he wished for.

"Oh, fuck!" Ethan swore. Before she knew it, he had her in a bone-crushing hug.

"Fuck, Lane. You have no idea how happy I am right now," he choked out, his own voice shaking. "I love you so much."

The feeling of his tears hitting her neck broke her completely. She couldn’t contain her emotions anymore.

She pulled back slightly, cupping his face. His eyes were red and streaming, and all she wanted was to make it better. Instead of wiping the tears away with her hands, she leaned in.

She kissed the tears from his eyes and his cheeks, showering his face with soft, sweet kisses. When she finally pulled back to look at him, she saw nothing but pure, unadulterated love shining back.

Ethan touched her cheek, mirroring her actions. He peppered her face with kisses—her eyelids, her forehead, her cheeks, the tip of her nose. Finally, he found her lips.

The kiss started soft and warm, but it quickly turned deep and sensual. Lane parted her lips, giving him total control as she gripped his shoulders for support.

The passion and longing in the kiss were overwhelming. She matched his intensity until their teeth even clashed.

Ethan didn’t waste any time. He hooked his hands around her waist and pulled her onto his lap, pinning her body against his broad chest.

He leaned back against the headrest, exploring every inch of her mouth with his tongue. She let out a soft moan when he playfully nipped at her lower lip.

She could feel his heat and hardness even through their clothes. A fire started in her gut that only he could put out.

Wanting to feel more of him, she ground her hips against his lap, the sensation sending butterflies racing from her stomach to her core.

"Fuck, Lane!" Ethan groaned, sounding almost feral as she moved against him.

She was already soaked.

The urge to feel him was too much to resist. She shifted on his lap, her eyes dropping to the massive bulge straining against his slacks. She reached down and started unbuckling his belt.

"Lane..." he breathed, his voice thick with anticipation.

She made quick work of the belt, the button, and the zipper. She heard him let out a ragged groan as she freed him from his briefs.

Damn. He’s really hard.

"Fuck!" Ethan hissed as she wrapped her hand around him. He felt hot and pulsed in her grasp.

She noticed the pre-cum at the tip and looked up to see him tilting his head back, biting his lip in pure pleasure.

She wanted to give him more. She slid off his lap and knelt between his legs.

"What are you doing?" Ethan asked, his eyes wide, though he clearly wasn’t about to stop her.

Instead of answering, she leaned in and kissed the tip before taking him into her mouth. She felt him go rigid.

"Fuck!" he moaned. He was so large she could barely take half of him without choking, but she did her best, bobbing her head and using her hand to help.

Ethan gathered her hair to one side, his hips lifting slightly to meet her rhythm.

When she felt him tense, a clear sign he was about to blow, he suddenly grabbed her shoulders and pulled her up.

"I want to fill you up, Lane," he rasped, his face flushed.

"I’m not wasting a drop. I’m making sure you get pregnant this time."

She remembered the disappointment on his face when her last test came back negative. He really wanted this.

He pulled her close, bodies pressed tight, and hiked up her skirt. She moaned as he cupped her through her panties, rubbing her until she felt like she was going to hit the ceiling.

"Ethan..."

___________

Ethan made quick work of her underwear and guided her to straddle him.

"Ahh..."

"Ohh..."

They both groaned as he slid home, filling her completely.

"Move," he whispered, nipping at her earlobe.

She didn’t need to be told twice. She started a slow rhythm that quickly turned frantic. Ethan met every thrust, his hips bucking upward.

"Fuck!" Ethan swore as she swayed her hips, feeling him pulse deep inside her.

Just as the sensation reached a fever pitch, her phone started buzzing on the desk.

"Ethan..."

"Later," he grunted, his grip on her waist tightening. "Don’t stop."

They ignored the first call, but then it started ringing again immediately. The noise was starting to get in her head, and Ethan must have noticed.

Without breaking their connection, he stood up, carrying her with her legs wrapped around his waist.

He hiked her up and thrust hard, over and over, until it felt like he was hitting her womb.

"Fuck, Lane!"

"Ethan!" she screamed as her body began to shake. He gave a few final, powerful plunges as she climaxed, and then he growled like a wild animal, releasing everything inside her. He held her tight, making sure it stayed there.

Still breathless, Lane remembered the phone.

"The... the phone," she panted.

He didn’t put her down. He walked her over to the executive desk, and she could feel him twitching inside her with every step. She grabbed the phone and saw the caller ID.

It was Calvin’s teacher.

She immediately disentangled herself and tried to fix her clothes. Ethan did the same, looking just as serious.

"Who is it?"

"Calvin’s teacher," she said, quickly hitting redial. Ethan leaned in close to her ear, wanting to hear everything.

The teacher picked up on the first ring. "Ma’am Lane?"

"I’m so sorry I missed your calls. Is everything okay?"

She felt Ethan’s hand tighten on her waist.

"Ma’am Lane, can you please come to the daycare center right away?"

Lane’s heart dropped. She and Ethan locked eyes, both of them suddenly sick with anxiety.

"Y-yes, Ma’am. We’re on our way."

Her heart was pounding so hard she could feel it in her throat.

As soon as Ethan pulled into the daycare center’s parking lot, Lane didn’t even wait for him to come around and open her door. She already had it open and was out of the vehicle before he could park.

Lane practically sprinted into the building, her mind racing with overwhelming worry for her son.

When the teacher called, her heart had instantly spiked with anxiety. She kept running through every worst-case scenario.

She prayed it wasn’t life-threatening, but the thought of something happening to him was unbearable. Calvin was her whole world. She couldn’t imagine life without him.

She felt Ethan right behind her, acting as her shadow. He must have moved fast to keep up with how quickly she’d bolted from the car.

When she reached Calvin’s classroom, she practically leaped inside. Her eyes scanned the room frantically until she spotted him in a corner, sitting quietly with his head down.

The sight tugged painfully at her heartstrings.

"Calvin!" she cried out. At the sound of her voice, he looked up. She saw him biting his lower lip, desperately trying to hold back the tears.

She rushed toward him, with Ethan following close behind, but Ethan stopped short when he heard a familiar voice.

"Daddy!"

It was Tyler. He was in the classroom, too. But Lane didn’t have the headspace to deal with that right now. Her entire focus was on her son, who was trembling and still fighting to keep from crying.

She dropped to her knees in front of him. "Calvin, are you okay?" she asked, her voice thick with worry.

When he didn’t answer, she started checking him for injuries. She felt over his head for bumps or blood, then checked his hands and feet for any scratches. She let out a massive sigh of relief when she saw he didn’t have a single mark on him.

She stood back up to face the teacher, ready for answers. "Ma’am, what happened?"

The teacher started to open her mouth, but a familiar voice cut her off.

"Ma’am, I’m demanding that her son be expelled. He’s a danger to my child."

Lane’s brows knit together. She turned toward the speaker, her expression hardening.

It was Olivia. Her cousin was glaring at her with pure venom, and Lane met that gaze with a fire of her own.

"Watch your mouth, Olivia. I could sue you for defamation," Lane said firmly.

"Don’t go making up stories. My son wouldn’t hurt a fly." She knew her boy. He didn’t have a violent bone in his body. There was no way he’d do what Olivia was suggesting.

Olivia scoffed.

"Maybe I’m the one who should be suing you, Lane," she snapped.

Lane," she snapped. "You’re really sure your son wouldn’t hurt anyone? Take a look at mine." She pointed to Tyler, who was standing next to Ethan.

Lane looked down at Tyler and saw the tears streaming down his face.

"My son has a bruise because your kid punched him. And you’re telling me he isn’t violent? Are you serious?" Olivia continued, gesturing to the mark on Tyler’s cheek.

"Is that what you teach him? To be a bully? What kind of mother are you? You only have one kid and you can’t even raise him right."

"Olivia." Ethan’s voice cut through the air, cold and heavy with a warning. He clearly didn’t appreciate the personal shots Olivia was taking.

But Olivia wouldn’t let it go. Lane clenched her fists, her knuckles turning white. She was this close to losing it and punching her cousin herself.

"Ma’am, I want justice for my son," Olivia told the teacher.

"He needs to be expelled before he does this again. I’m worried about Tyler’s safety and the safety of the other kids. The other mothers agree with me. They don’t want a violent kid in this school."

"Tyler." Ethan ignored Lianne and knelt down to get Tyler’s attention.

"What really happened? Tell me the truth, Tyler. I don’t tolerate lying."

"What, Ethan? You think our son would lie about this?" Olivia snapped, putting extra weight on the words our son.

"I know Tyler. He’s a good boy. Calvin punched him."

Ethan kept his eyes locked on Tyler. "Tyler, I’m waiting."

Tyler’s lips quivered. He hesitated for a second before finally looking at his father.

"Daddy, Calvin punched me right here," he said, pointing to his bruised cheek. "It hurts, Daddy."

"See, Ethan? He’s telling the truth," Olivia added smugly.

Lane felt a small hand grab hers. She looked down at Calvin, who was staring at the floor, refusing to meet anyone’s eyes. She knelt back down in front of him.

"Calvin, look at Mommy," she said softly.

Instead of looking up, he buried his face in her neck and hugged her tight.

Lane’s heart shattered as she heard him start to sob. She wrapped her arms around him, stroking his back to try and calm the shaking.

Her own chest felt tight as she felt his warm tears soaking into her skin.

"M-mommy, let’s just go home. I don’t want to be here anymore," Calvin cried, his sobs getting louder.

"Shhh... Mommy’s got you, baby," she whispered, still stroking his back. She stood up, lifting him into her arms.

She turned to the teacher. "Ma’am, I’m taking Calvin home. We can talk about this later."

"I’ll handle things here, Lane." She looked over at Ethan. He gave her a steady look that told her he had her back.

She bit her lip and nodded. Without another word, she turned and carried her son out of the classroom. She’d barely made it into the hallway when Ethan called after her.

"Lane."

She turned back and saw him walking toward them, his eyes full of concern for her and Calvin.

When he reached them, he gently stroked Calvin’s cheek and leaned down to kiss the boy’s forehead. "Everything’s going to be okay," he said gently.

Calvin just gave a small, shaky nod. Ethan looked at Lane and reached into his pocket, pulling something out.

"Here." He handed her his car keys. "Take my car and wait for me. I’ll be out as soon as I’m done with this."

Lane took the keys and nodded. As she turned to walk away, she caught one last sharp, hateful glare from Olivia through the classroom door.
