The Towermaster had revealed just enough to confirm some of Uhtred’s suspicions and wariness about his Formless class.

At the same time, he had shed light on things that Uhtred previously didn’t know — things about his father, his origins, his very nature... and most especially, the cosmic web of fate he had been born into.

As Uhtred readied himself to face the audience, he looked at the ageless elf one last time.

"May I know your name, Towermaster?" he asked quietly.

The Towermaster raised a brow at the question, looking genuinely surprised, as if it were the most unexpected thing Uhtred could have asked. He paused in silent thought for a brief second before answering:

"...Lorien. My name was Lorien."

"Wait—was?"

Before Uhtred could press for clarification, the ancient elf cut him off. His physical form began to dissolve into countless tiny specks of light that drifted upward, vanishing far beyond Uhtred’s perception.

His last words echoed just as his spell on the audience came undone.

"...I hope to see you again in the years to come, Uhtred, son of Freja..."

That was the last thing Uhtred heard before the world around him snapped back into motion.

The weight of the millions of alien gazes in the crowd, along with that of the Host, and the billions more watching from all across the multiverse settled on him yet again.

A slight, wistful feeling overcame Uhtred.

He let out a quiet sigh

He, too, hoped to cross paths with the Towermaster — or rather, Lorien — someday in the future. The ancient elf had given him invaluable aid...

However, that time wasn’t now.

Now, the audience was waiting for him to reveal his class.

"You want to know what my class is...?" Uhtred spoke into the microphone, his voice cutting through the silent arena.

He cracked a smile, then slowly raised both middle fingers in a universally understood human gesture:

"Unfortunately, I can only say... Fuck you all."

The arena erupted into a frenzy immediately. Uhtred had piqued their attention right to the edge, then when it was time for the final reveal, chose to slap them all in the face!

Furious shouts and curses in many different alien languages echoed across the arena. Some among the audience even wanted to charge Uhtred directly, but the Host was quick to intervene

Folks! Folks! Need I remind you of the sacred rules of the Illustrious Tower?!

That warning managed to keep even the most violent among the audience in check. They halted their advance, though they continued to hurl venomous insults toward the stage — shouting that Uhtred "didn’t know who he was messing with," calling him "an unruly, arrogant insect," and promising to "obliterate his world on a whim."

Uhtred grinned through it all, his casual demeanor fanning the flames of their anger even more.

Not every spectator reacted with blind rage, however. The more observant entities in the crowd watched him with sharp, analytical curiosity.

His switch-up seemed very sudden. One moment, he had truly been on the verge of revealing his class — the observant among the audience could tell this clearly because many of them had sent Esoteric probes and could feel Uhtred’s conviction in that moment.

However, in an instant, his will to reveal his class disappeared.

Suspicious glances were exchanged among powerful figures seated in the crowd.

The same reaction was unfolding across the wider multiverse. While the general consensus among casual viewers was outrage — viewing Uhtred as a foolish, overly arrogant human who had let his talent blind him into provoking the entire cosmos — a select few powerhouses watching found his sudden switch-up deeply suspicious.

Uhtred didn’t know it, but his words were already prompting several ancient entities across the multiverse to begin mobilizing behind the scenes.

Now, this is how to make a statement, Uhtred chuckled to himself on the stage.

The Host attempted to smooth things over for the audience, suggesting that Uhtred’s words were merely a translation error or a crude joke. However, Uhtred refused to cooperate.

Instead of de-escalating, he doubled down, stating flatly that he meant every single word.

The audience could go fuck themselves. His class belonged to him and him alone. He was under no obligation to parade his secrets for their entertainment.

By that point, the interview had devolved into pure chaos. The Host had no choice but to wrap up the segment, swiftly ushering Uhtred off the starlight stage and back toward the privacy corridor before the crowd could no longer hold themselves back.

These were entities who possessed the power to crush a Nascent Realm ascender like an insect if given the opportunity.

"You’ve just made your climb up the Tower a whole lot worse, kid," the Host muttered to Uhtred as he ushered him to the corridor. "I hope you can handle the repercussions of it."

The Host’s expression was unreadable. Whether he was offering genuine advice or simply mocking him, Uhtred didn’t care to guess.

However, one thing was clear: his earlier deduction had been correct. The Towermaster was not the owner of the Illustrious Tower of Wonders. The Host operated under a completely different set of System protocols and had been utterly oblivious to the Towermaster’s intervention.

The Tower was far more complex than it appeared on the surface... But that was a mystery for another time.

As Uhtred reached the corridor, his grin turned slightly sheepish as he took in Handler Roy’s horror-stricken face.

Uhtred immediately raised his hands in surrender.

"I know what I just got myself into, Roy. But it had to be done."

Surprisingly, the Handler simply stared at him with his mouth agape. He didn’t yell, nor did he berate Uhtred for his recklessness — even though, in his eyes, it was pure suicide.

Instead, the rat-man turned around in utter silence and walked back to the waiting room, with Uhtred following close behind.

The door slid shut, and Zara immediately rushed forward from the seating area.

"How did it go?" she asked hastily, her eyes darting between Uhtred and Handler Roy.

She paused, noticing the Handler’s drained expression and the heavy silence hanging between them.

"Wait... what happened out there?"
