Four Split Personalities

Chapter 2687 - 1272: Leaving the Command Seat (Part 2)

As classmate Barty in the contestant area subconsciously murmured, this is simply ’a loss going all the way to grandma’s house’!

Sure enough, just two minutes later, the emergency contact light in Ramollok’s room flashed, and everyone watching the battle from the God’s Eye view knew before he did that five squads of Scout teams had lost contact.

The last information they transmitted was precisely the specific location of Richard Rein’s main formation, and besides that, there was nothing more to gain.

Then, amidst bursts of laughter, Ramollok issued an order for all scout units to retreat, closing his eyes with a slightly grim expression.

Everyone observing the battleground concluded that Ramollok had miscalculated, messed up, and failed in his act of finesse.

Frankly, if Richard Ryan had not carefully fortified his main stronghold into an ironclad defense and instead passed the initial nine minutes casually, Ramollok might still have had a chance to turn the tables, assuming his past game scores were justifiable.

However, under current circumstances, it was exceedingly difficult for Ramollok to make any effective moves.

One must understand, a complete defense system requires extensive preparatory work. Within those nine minutes, not only did Richard fortify his main stronghold with a solid shell, but he also formed a perfect strategic coalition with surrounding allies who shared the same camp. Meanwhile, Ramollok did nothing during this time, neglecting even basic intelligence communication, causing his central multiple strongholds to experience a sense of ’isolation’, triggering a series of chain reactions. Expressed in the most direct data terms, that is—

During these nine minutes, the blue team tasked with holding the enemy’s array lost approximately twenty percent of their combat power. In contrast, the frontline of the supporting red team had lost less than half a percent on average, and their morale had visibly soared to a level where they ’surged to 120%’ on the morale scale.

And the average morale level of the blue frontline fell to 83%. While this was still far from a complete moral breakdown, it was by no means a good sign.

What was more, Ramollok’s main force had inexplicably lost more than two hundred units, causing an additional drop of 5% in their morale scale, leaving them at only 78%.

[What will you do?]

Numerous people triumphantly watched the deep-in-thought Ramollok.

[What will you do?]

Teresa, Motan, Richard, and Andre also furrowed their brows.

It’s not that they lacked ways to break the deadlock. In fact, even Motan, who had the weakest mental fortitude among the four (since Teresa’s command style wasn’t inherently aggressive), did not believe that being in Ramollok’s position was a helpless situation. In reality, this kind of ’behind’ status did not even count as a headwind for them; it was nowhere near an impasse.

The key question was, what did Ramollok intend to do?

If those nine minutes were not meaningless, if the morning’s bewildering maneuvers were not in vain, then what on earth was he planning?

The answer revealed itself surprisingly fast.

After contemplating for about thirty seconds, Ramollok suddenly smiled, picked up an instruction card, and wrote down his third command since the beginning of the match before raising his quill slightly.

The counselor standing at his side immediately stepped forward to receive the order.

However—

"Please hold on a moment."

Even though there was no sound in the scene, everyone easily read Ramollok’s lips and watched as he picked up another instruction card, swiftly writing down a fourth command on it.

After that, came the fifth command... the sixth... the seventh... the tenth... the fifteenth... the thirtieth... the sixty-eighth command.

That’s right! Excluding the initial two instructions, when Ramollok finally put down his pen, he had neatly piled sixty-six instruction cards in front of him!

Everyone was shocked!

Even Richard and Andre, who usually maintained a poker face, couldn’t help but widen their eyes, while Teresa, one of the referees in the first competition area, directly fell back into her chair.

Only Motan didn’t appear overtly surprised, but his face turned extremely grim.

The next moment, an even more explosive scene unfolded. Ramollok, having stood up, lazily stretched his body, whispered a few words to Staff Dyson, then turned around and walked away with a smile.

That’s right!

He walked directly away!

Under the astonished gazes of everyone, Ramollok lightly stepped out of the Barrier surrounding Battle Zone 1 and returned straight to the contestant area, sitting back in his corner—his resting place.

And the seemingly frozen air since his departure from the battle zone finally exploded the moment Ramollok took a seat. Inevitably, all contestants and spectators became agitated, expressing their emotions with unrestrained excitement and chaotic shouting!

This chaotic scene lasted for nearly a minute until Andre, the dean of the Mercury Gold Military Academy, stood up and unleashed a massive Fighting Spirit Burst, finally restoring order.

"Continue the game."

Without any extra words, Andre said these four simple words before sitting back down, crossing his hands, and staring unwaveringly at the now empty left half of Screen 1.

Everyone then quietly and unanimously refocused on the match.

According to common sense, leaving the command room without the referee’s permission is a ’serious violation’. However, such a violation technically amounts to a ’cheating act’. Thus, if the player leaving does not plan to reoccupy their seat nor issue any further commands, does it constitute cheating?

The answer is clear—it does not constitute cheating.

If held in an academic setting outside of the game, this situation might be dubbed as ’handing in the paper early’.

Of course, ’handing in the paper early’ in such a competitive context is itself a strange thing. Even though Ramollok’s act does not constitute cheating, it still violates game rules. However, since Andre, the chief referee, declared ’continue the game’, further discussion about this seems moot.

In fact, nobody wanted to dwell on the matter; they were more interested in Ramollok’s ultimate plan!

Finally, under Karuz’s direction, Dyson, the somewhat bewildered staff member, gathered his wits, ready to carry out Ramollok’s instructions without bearing any responsibility.

With slightly stiff steps, he moved to the now-vacant command podium, gathered the stack of sixty-six instruction cards into two piles, and walked into the central area.

After two deep breaths, he picked the top three cards and systematically fed them into the sand table.

Meanwhile, Richard’s counterpart, who was approaching with two instruction cards, stood dumbfounded, clearly unable to discern the purpose of the two giant stacks of instruction cards grasped by Dyson.

"Please proceed as normal."

Karuz shrugged, indicating that the red team’s counselor need not worry about these developments.

Therefore, Richard’s counselor simply continued with his duty, feeding the already prepared instruction cards into the system and leaving; there was nothing more to be done, as the referees already sanctioned it.

As soon as the counselor left the central area and the red team’s war fog lifted, everyone was astounded.

The reason was clear: under the God’s Eye view, anyone could see that roughly eighty percent of the forces in Ramollok’s main formation had silently mobilized.

Ready to march at a moment’s notice!
