From Evil Sect Leader to Doctor
Chapter 883 - 849: You Really Think I’m a FoolGao Xinhua glanced at the others, hoping nobody noticed. He had a gut feeling that this had something to do with Xu Chunliang.
Vice President Qin Guoliang said, "That should be a nurse from Changshan Hospital. I remember them well, their nurse uniforms are prettier than ours."
Zhao Feiyang looked at Geng Wenxiu, clearly hoping she’d handle the situation. Ever since Geng Wenjun fell from grace, Geng Wenxiu had been like an eggplant hit by frost, and Zhao Feiyang’s attitude towards her wasn’t as polite as before, since he knew very well that Geng Wenjun’s days of revival were practically over. Once the opportunity is missed, it won’t come again.
Geng Wenxiu pursed her lips, about to say she’d go over, when Gao Xinhua spoke up, "I’ll go take a look."
Geng Wenxiu felt relieved; she really didn’t want to invite trouble proactively, and it was best that Gao Xinhua was willing to step up.
Gao Xinhua took on the task due to Xu Chunliang. He actually recognized the nurse’s uniform as from Changshan Hospital. Regardless of the cause, he believed this incident shouldn’t happen. It’s wrong to hit a patient’s family in front of so many people, and even worse to assault hospital staff.
Xu Chunliang also felt the matter was becoming tricky. His initial intention in bringing Ji Jiajia was to solve the issue, but Ji Jiajia’s actions complicated things. Xu Chunliang didn’t blame Ji Jiajia for hitting people, as Wang Wenjie’s wife deserved it for her foul language, but hitting the wrong place was problematic.
Xu Chunliang pulled Ji Jiajia aside, whispering, "Leave quickly!" The best way now was to get her away from the scene.
Ji Jiajia froze for a moment; she feared nothing and nobody, especially with her master backing her.
Xu Chunliang whispered urgently, "Go! I’ll take care of things here."
Ji Jiajia understood and turned to run.
A few security guards tried to stop her, but Ji Jiajia’s Spiritual Snake Eight Steps had reached a good level. She slipped through the gaps between them like a swimming snake.
Yu Xiangdong, clutching his eye, shouted, "Catch her, don’t let her escape."
A security guard at the door rushed forward courageously, arms open to grab Ji Jiajia. Ji Jiajia kicked him between the legs, causing the guard to clutch his crotch and fall to his knees with a thud. Ji Jiajia successfully dashed out of Changxing Hospital’s doors, opened a roadside taxi’s door, and commanded, "Drive!"
The driver glanced at her in surprise, then at the chasing group of security guards.
Ji Jiajia offered, "I’ll give you an extra thousand."
The driver slammed the gas and sped away.
The entrance of Changxing Hospital was in chaos as Gao Xinhua arrived on the scene and roughly understood the situation, inwardly sighing that these security guards were useless, deploying over a dozen people yet failing to stop a little nurse. Even the Security Chief Yu Weidong got beaten and bruised.
Xu Chunliang didn’t leave; with so many witnesses, they’d find him anyway even if he did.
Yang Meiyin, covering one eye, pointed at Xu Chunliang, "Arrest him; he’s in cahoots with that little hussy."
Wang Wenjie, rubbing his neck where Xu Chunliang pinched it red, said, "He’s the one who just choked me. They’re together; call the police and arrest him!"
Xu Chunliang retorted, "You two better watch your language. I hit harder than that young girl just now."
Wang Wenjie swallowed, his neck still stinging, realizing this guy wasn’t to be messed with.
Yu Xiangdong, downcast, asked Xu Chunliang, "Director Xu, who was that just now?"
"I don’t know!"
Yu Xiangdong was dumbfounded, "You don’t know? Xu Chunliang, Xu Chunliang, don’t lie with your eyes open." Yu Xiangdong was already frustrated, having been punched blue and insulted as an old hoodlum.
He looked at Gao Xinhua with one eye, seeking help.
Gao Xinhua instructed the guards to disperse the onlookers; such commotion wasn’t good. He approached Xu Chunliang, "Xiaoxu, what’s the situation?"
Xu Chunliang excelled at playing dumb, "I don’t know the situation either. I just saw one of your hospital’s nurses quarreling with this couple. They rushed to hit her, so I kindly stepped in to mediate, but ended up being cursed instead."
Yang Meiyin was fuming as he twisted the truth, "He and that little hussy are together; they’re just a pair of sleazy lovers..."
Bang!
A girl rushed out from the crowd, slapped Yang Meiyin across the face, leaving even Xu Chunliang bewildered. Who was this? Upon closer inspection, it was Su Qing—his focus had been elsewhere earlier; he hadn’t noticed when she arrived.
Yang Meiyin, stunned by Su Qing’s slap, charged at her disheveled. Before she could move, another beauty came up and kicked her in the stomach, causing Yang Meiyin to stagger back a few steps and fall onto the ground, the kicker being Bai Lan.
Yang Meiyin lay there kicking her legs wildly, "I won’t live! I won’t live! Changxing Hospital is beating people, Changxing Hospital is beating people..."
Wang Wenjie, seeing his wife getting repeatedly beaten, couldn’t sit idly by, he shouted, "I’ll fight you..." but didn’t finish before Xu Chunliang grabbed his neck again. It was terrible; his head felt flooded with blood, at any moment, his wounds might burst, and his blood might surge out.
Xu Chunliang said, "It’s not illegal to provoke, yet you two deserve the beating. Let me be clear that I don’t know that nurse from earlier. If anyone dares to mouth off again, I won’t let you off."
Xu Chunliang released his hand, and Wang Wenjie was intimidated by his strength. Just then, Ding Si arrived furiously, "Wang Wenjie, do you want face?"
Wang Wenjie shivered in fear.
Xu Chunliang waved his hand, indicating that there was no issue. He said to Su Qing and Bai Lan, "Why are you here?"
Su Qing replied, "I called Director Zheng, and he told me."
Xu Chunliang silently sighed at Zheng Peian’s big mouth.
Seeing the situation under control, Gao Xinhua quickly invited these people to the small meeting room for mediation. Before going in, Xu Chunliang called Su Qing over and whispered a few things in her ear.
Actually, there wasn’t much to mediate; neither party in the dispute was related to Changxing Hospital.
Xu Chunliang was specifically called to the mediation room by Gao Xinhua. After closing the door, it was just the two of them. Gao Xinhua sighed and said, "Kid, you sure know how to stir things up. Why bring trouble to our hospital?"
Xu Chunliang grinned and said, "Uncle Gao, don’t wrong me, okay? I came to visit Ding Si. I saw injustice and helped break up a fight. This has nothing to do with me."
"Who is that little nurse?"
"Isn’t she from your hospital?"
Gao Xinhua was so exasperated by this boy that he rolled his eyes: "You’re being evasive. She’s wearing Changshan Hospital’s uniform, how could she be from our hospital?"
Xu Chunliang said, "Then ask Changshan Hospital. I’m from the Infectious Disease Hospital."
Gao Xinhua pointed at his nose and said, "You rascal, causing trouble and not owning up to it?"
Xu Chunliang took out a box of cigarettes and offered him one.
Gao Xinhua waved his hand: "Don’t play this trick."
Xu Chunliang offered again, and this time Gao Xinhua accepted. Xu Chunliang helped light it for him and whispered, "There’s surveillance in this room."
Gao Xinhua took a puff and asked, "You really don’t know her?"
Xu Chunliang replied, "How could I possibly know her? If you think she’s from Changshan Hospital, you can contact Dean Gu to find out if there’s such a person."
Gao Xinhua said, "I’ve investigated. Her name is Ji Jiajia, she’s a nurse from Changshan Hospital. Today, she had a conflict with a patient named Wang Wenjie at Changshan Hospital. She used a glass bottle to smash Wang Wenjie’s head, and it escalated to the police station. Dean Gu went to bail her out."
Xu Chunliang said, "I really wasn’t aware of this. I don’t handle matters from Changshan Hospital. You’ll have to ask Dean Gu. I can call him if you want."
Xu Chunliang made the call in front of Gao Xinhua. After connecting, Xu Chunliang explained the reason for the call and turned on the speakerphone.
Gao Xinhua, on the side, asked, "Dean Gu, does your hospital have a nurse named Ji Jiajia?"
"No!"
Gao Xinhua’s eyes almost popped out, while Xu Chunliang had a mischievous grin. Ji Jiajia was merely doing odd jobs, and there was no record of her at Changshan Hospital.
Adjusting his thoughts, Gao Xinhua continued, "Dean Gu, was there a nurse named Ji Jiajia who had a conflict with a patient named Wang Wenjie today?"
Gu Houyi said, "Xiaogao, now that you mention it, I recall. Indeed, two people had a conflict, one was wearing a nursing uniform, but she’s not from our hospital."
"What?"
Gu Houyi stifled his laughter on the other end of the line. Xu Chunliang had already notified Su Qing to pass on the information. Ji Jiajia caused trouble at Changxing, negatively affecting Changxing Hospital, prompting them to demand an explanation from Changshan Hospital. The best option was not to acknowledge it at all since Ji Jiajia’s name wasn’t in the hospital’s records.
Gu Houyi knew that doing so was rather unprincipled, but there wasn’t a better solution. Moreover, even if pursued, Ji Jiajia had no contractual relationship with the hospital, and she wasn’t even a temporary employee.
"Dean Gu, I’ve already verified; Ji Jiajia is definitely from your hospital." Although Gao Xinhua had a good relationship with them, when it came to official matters, some explanations were necessary.
Gu Houyi was clearly somewhat displeased: "Xiaogao, if you don’t believe me, you can come and check yourself. I’ll show you all the hospital records; see if there’s a nurse named Ji Jiajia." After saying this, he hung up the phone.
Gao Xinhua was left awkward, staring at Xu Chunliang with a resentful face.
Xu Chunliang was feeling guilty, and he offered another cigarette to Gao Xinhua.
Gao Xinhua said, "Get lost. You’re all smiles without a serious word."
Xu Chunliang said, "Uncle Gao, that’s not right. You took a hit from Dean Gu, you can’t take it out on me."
Gao Xinhua stubbed out the cigarette: "Do you really think I’m clueless? I understand everything."
