From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals
Chapter 913 - 913: Omina Refuses Erebos's PriceErebos separated the sixth funeral destination with two fingers inside the moving burial shaft.
Omina kept both green bars across his forearm. Yun-Jin's violet thread tied his wrist to the engine rail, shortening whenever the wheels turned beneath a roof support.
The paper strip from the sixth outlet fell into JJ's wash gutter. Its dead destination mark remained dry. The seventh strip stayed wrapped around Erebos's fingers, wet with the tank woman's pulse.
"The living route remains mixed with your prison mark after six clean separations."
Erebos turned one finger against the shaft. "It remains mixed because the collar beneath this track requires a fifth support."
JJ held the copper sponsor braid between two working fingers. Her thumb had recovered enough feeling to hurt, which made every pump stroke alter her grip.
"Your last useful explanation came with two hidden prices, so show this one before naming it."
Erebos pressed downward. An iron collar rose through the gap between the rails, carrying five shallow lugs around its rim. Funeral wash filled the first. Kegaku's delayed heartbeat moved the second. JJ's cut braid trembled across the third, and the seventh prison strip held the fourth.
The last lug remained open beneath the tank car.
Something beyond it pulled the strip sideways. Omina felt the direction through her bars before the paper tore. The pull ran outside Sadle's burial track toward a loaded road that kept changing weight.
On Kegaku's pressure bed, the left shoulder strap tightened by itself. His remaining hand stayed open while the empty graft side of his body pressed into the mattress. The fifth lug had found the circuit he shared with the woman and was searching along its weakest part.
Kieran placed the wrapped flute case across the pressure bed rail. She used it as a brace between Kegaku's shoulder and the tank trolley, keeping both support frames separate while the collar pulled.
"That fifth position is already testing bodies before anyone agrees to carry it."
"That direction reaches the skeleton after the fifth lug carries living return tissue," Erebos said.
The unnamed woman moved inside the tank. Her returned graft released the brace around her wrist and opened its palm teeth toward the floor.
Erebos's shadow moved beneath Omina's lower bar.
She drove the bar into the rail. The shadow flattened under green metal while Yun-Jin pulled his shoulder backward.
"The graft belongs to the patient, and your hand remains on the shaft."
"Her graft already carries the missing prison return. Seating it completes a circuit she currently supports through both pumps."
The woman's living hand struck the glass once. Her graft closed its teeth around the tank brace and turned the palm away from the empty lug.
Its mouth opened against the metal. The woman's voice came through the brace with the pump noise cutting between words.
"My arm carries my pump, and your road receives nothing from it."
JJ answered without looking at Erebos. "She has declined your improved description of the same theft."
Black fluid gathered beneath the graft wrist where releasing the brace had reopened the split. The woman trapped the arm under her knee again and held it there through the next pump stroke.
Omina lowered her upper bar until Erebos's elbow touched the rail. "Find a support that arrives without opening her wrist."
"The skeleton's route will move beyond this junction before your preference becomes affordable."
Omina examined the empty lug. A body socket would have carried teeth, clamps, or a place for tissue to enter. This one held two shallow shoulders with a worn channel between them, the shape left by weight passing from one set of arms to another.
Completed carriage had worn that groove.
She took an unused funeral strap from the wall and fed its buckle through both shoulders. The collar stayed cold. Omina clipped the strap around an empty washing bier, then dragged the bier from the sixth outlet to the seventh until its iron wheels crossed the groove.
The fifth lug warmed beneath her palm but remained fixed.
Weight and movement reached it. The missing part was an accepted arrival.
Yun-Jin watched the strap settle. "The collar wants proof that living weight reached safety, rather than another body placed inside it."
"Erebos described the most expensive support because the cheaper one exposes who carries his cargo."
His bound shoulder shifted against her bars. That response gave Omina more than his face would have.
At her belt, a folded copper strip pressed against the hilt of her short blade. Omina had carried it out of the body recognition review because ugly evidence survived longer when somebody kept it away from a clean drawer.
The strip recorded Hollis being carried from danger by the Face User claimant using Ty's contested body. The same fold kept the identity bar attached.
Nora Pell's floor record remained wired to the back. Zunoder had rescued Hollis after stepping over Nora and returned when her warning threatened the public clip. The carriage act remained useful, selective, and true.
The empty lug pulled at the Hollis edge. Omina tightened the witness wire until Nora's attached record moved with it. The collar would receive the whole physical strip or receive none of it.
Zunoder stood between the pressure bed and the tank car with Ty's old shoulders under a borrowed funeral coat. His gaze settled on the copper before Omina removed it.
"You intend to spend my rescue while preserving every sentence that weakens it."
"The action remains yours, and the name remains outside the bargain."
"Where does the action carry me if your collar accepts it?"
"It carries one completed rescue into this lug and exposes the cheaper junction Erebos concealed. It gives you no body transfer."
"Does the use leave Hollis's rescue attached to my public action record?"
"The event stays true after use, while this route receives only one carriage support. Nora's attached floor record travels with it."
Zunoder rubbed Ty's old thumb across the coat seam. He wanted a route to Ty, and the funeral collar offered another world in which his rescue could operate. Omina could see him pricing that advantage without pretending the choice came from generosity.
Zunoder looked toward Erebos. "Does that junction reach the skeleton's current road?"
Erebos kept his fingers in the shaft. "A completed carriage opens cargo beneath the main route, provided the record still has public weight."
His shadow pushed harder beneath Omina's bar after he gave the answer.
Zunoder held out Ty's old hand. "Record that I chose the use because the road leads toward him."
"I record your choice, your reason, the Hollis action, and the identity limit in one line."
"You always make a useful sentence sound like a locked door."
"Useful doors require limits when you keep wearing somebody else's face."
Zunoder took the folded strip between two fingers. The old body carried a real memory of weight through its right shoulder, enough to pull the copper toward the empty lug.
Omina kept one hand around his wrist. He lowered the strip until both shallow shoulders caught its edges.
The collar turned.
Nothing touched the tank graft. The woman kept her knee over the damaged arm while JJ completed the next paired pump stroke.
Kegaku's pressure strap loosened. Kieran removed the flute case only after his remaining hand closed around the bed rail by his own choice.
The fifth lug carried Hollis's completed rescue.
The pull toward Ty shifted beneath the main shaft. A narrow brass drawer opened between the funeral taps, hidden below the six dead destinations. Black packing grease filled its runners. One corner held blue filings from an Oltin cage arc.
Along the drawer bottom, one long cut sat above six smaller marks.
Erebos tried withdrawing his shaft hand. Yun-Jin shortened the violet thread and kept both fingers inside the collar.
Omina used her blade tip to lift the drawer without touching the grease. "Your seventh captain owns the load passing beneath this engine."
"Griswald owns a delivery mark, while ownership of the road remains a different question."
"Then your hidden junction can preserve that distinction while we inspect it."
The copper rescue strip darkened where the collar held it. Zunoder's public action still pulled through the groove, but the identity bar fold remained outside the metal and refused to enter.
He saw that and tightened his old jaw. "The route accepted my action and rejected the body conclusion."
"That is the limit you chose before touching the strip."
The lower drawer moved one inch farther. Seven knocks traveled through its base, too light for the engine wheels and too uneven for the burial shaft.
JJ kept pumping. "That count belongs to the field pieces from Meren's route."
Kieran held the repaired flute across both palms. "Seven knocks continue, while the flute stays still."
The count belonged to cargo rather than the five contact control rhythm that had used Kegaku and the instrument.
Omina placed a green bar across the open drawer. On its far wall, a small cargo latch had released beneath Griswald's seven cuts.
The tank woman's graft stayed under her knee. Zunoder's copper strip remained in the fifth lug with the identity fold outside the collar.
Omina drove her blade through the cargo latch before Erebos's shadow reached it. Somewhere beyond the drawer, a courier spring released and answered the seven knocks.
