Chapter 182: Chapter 107: Planar War, Light of Truth

If a plane war were to truly begin, the entire Wizard World would be massively impacted.

The destinies of everyone, whether Wizard or Apprentice, would be rewritten.

And as was customary, the various academies would conscript a batch of Wizards and Apprentices to be sent to that exceedingly cruel Plane Battlefield.

If the war’s intensity was too high and the Wizard legions suffered excessive casualties, the academies might even have to conscript a new batch of personnel every few years.

Such an event had occurred more than once in history.

The most tragic instance occurred over six hundred years ago.

That time, even the Third Level Wizard from this very academy who led the expedition fell in battle. Less than thirty percent of the Wizards and Apprentices who were dispatched returned to the academy alive.

Those who did not return became just cold, lifeless names, resting eternally within the academy’s archives.

The amusing part was that just a moment ago, the two Female Apprentices had been secretly competing, every word from their lovely red lips carrying a sharp barb.

Now, their little boat of friendship had miraculously resurfaced from the dark abyss, and they were once again standing on the same front.

An uncomfortable silence lingered in the Observation Room for nearly an hour.

The stagnant silence was finally broken when the youth, who seemed to be shrouded in a radiant glow, led two beautiful and obedient young women in cleanly striking down a Savage Forest Boar.

Just like every hunt before, the team’s coordination was as smooth as flowing water.

A short metal crossbow arrow shot silently from the shadows at the edge of the dense forest, precisely striking the right side of the boar’s neck.

To a half-ton Spiritual Creature with skin as tough as armor, such a superficial wound was less than a mosquito bite.

However, an unexpected sight occurred.

A bright blue electric arc erupted from where the Crossbow Arrow struck, like a blossoming thunderbolt.

The Savage Forest Boar’s massive body went rigid for a moment, its already dim-witted brain zapped completely blank by the electricity.

Anya seized the split-second opportunity, leaping down from the dense treetops. She concentrated all her Qi and Blood Power into her right fist and landed a heavy blow squarely on the boar’s left eye.

The powerful strike not only pierced the eyeball but continued with unstoppable force into the boar’s brain.

In the same instant, Reina raised the staff gifted to her by Teacher Buck and fired a sharp, spiraling steel needle. It carried immense force and precisely pierced the boar’s other eye.

Both eyeballs burst in succession, splattering blood and fluid. The boar stood rigid for a second before toppling onto its side.

The entire battle, from start to finish, lasted but a single breath.

It was, without a doubt, a textbook-perfect blitz.

"What a crazy kid!"

Mansha couldn’t help but exclaim.

For newcomers, the wilderness survival assessment was supposed to be an arduous ordeal.

Yet after entering Mist Valley, this kid had somehow turned the assessment into a relaxing and enjoyable hunt.

Nasha was focused on something else. "Tsk tsk, I never expected this kid to have mastered Thunder Power."

She naturally guessed that the arc of electricity that had suddenly erupted from the Crossbow Arrow must be connected to that impressively powerful Original Soul Seal of his.

Mansha sighed emotionally. "After the assessment is over, this kid should get the highest possible evaluation, right?"

Nasha nodded emphatically. "Of course. If he doesn’t get the highest evaluation for this, then all the results from every previous Mist Valley newcomer assessment would have to be thrown out."

For someone to have already locked in the highest evaluation before even a third of the assessment period was over... that was an exceedingly rare occurrence.

「Time passed, and soon it was lunchtime.」

The two Female Apprentices stared at the Light Curtain displaying the inside of the Sanctuary, their charming faces, each attractive in its own way, holding complex expressions.

It was because that kid, Mo Ning, had actually pulled a large pouch filled with cooking spices from his blue robe. After opening it, he took out two smaller packets.

He looked at his two teammates with a dead-serious expression, methodically assigning tasks. His tone was as earnest as if he were laying out a battle plan.

"The marbled shoulder cut of the Savage Forest Boar—the meat around the scapula—is well-marbled with a fat content of over twenty percent, making it perfect for pan-frying. Anya, you’re in charge of frying the meat. Use the first packet of spices."

On the Light Curtain, the Noble Lady nodded repeatedly. Her beautiful eyes, filled with a mixture of amusement and surprise, were fixed on the spice packet.

"The belly meat of the Giant Helmet Fish is very tender but has a slight fishy smell. I have a way to handle that; the second spice packet is specifically for this. Reina, you should be good at stewing, so I’ll leave cooking the fish to you."

On the Light Curtain, the Dazed Girl could see her captain was treating cooking as a serious affair. She promised earnestly, "Leave it to me!"

Nasha and Mansha glanced at each other, both struggling to keep a straight face.

Mansha’s lovely face twitched, and her tone was incredulous. "This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone bring so many cooking spices to a wilderness trial."

She commented again, "This kid is just too interesting."

Her previous assessment had been "interesting," and now it was upgraded to "too interesting." It was clear what a deep impression Mo Ning had left on the Third Level Female Apprentice.

Nasha was similarly speechless, feeling as though she’d now seen everything. "How ridiculous!"

The two watched the Light Curtain, discovering that Mo Ning wasn’t idle either.

He took out a large chunk of white fat carved from the body of a Muddy Worm and placed it in a metal container.

Then, he extended a hand and aimed it at the fat from a distance, keeping his fingertip about a finger’s width away from it.
