"Ohhh," Akira made a sound of understanding. "That was what Melody was agreeing to when I came into the kitchen?"

"Yeah." Melody nodded. "Since we’re already done with the class change quest, we decided to try another dungeon before our period with Karrakas is over."

"He wants us to know all the things we need to do when going to new dungeons on our own, when he’s gone." Lukas added. "That way, we wouldn’t be going about like headless chickens when the time comes."

Akira nodded, thinking about it. "The idea isn’t without merit. I agree."

It also went without saying that the heat from the Red Desert was one of the major reasons behind their decision.

If the desert had been just a little bit less hot, maybe it would’ve been bearable for them.

That or if their Constitution had been higher.

Nobody wants to keep subjecting themselves to almost unbearable heat, when there are better places to be.

The people who frequented the Red Desert either had something of value they were pursuing there, owned a business there, or had a high enough Constitution to make being there actually bearable.

Akira finally asked the actual question. "So... where do we go?"

There was a moment of silence as they all thought about it.

They’d been in Salaria for less than two months, with most of that time spent in the Red Desert.

And if there was one thing they were woefully lacking in, it was information.

Luckily, they didn’t need too much information to make this decision.

"We’re all still E-rank, so we don’t have many options," Lukas said. "This means we’ll have to stick to the options Karrakas gave us before."

Melody frowned, trying to recall them. "What were the options again?"

"Apart from the Red Desert, Karrakas told us of two places that ’newbies’ like us could survive in relatively easily. The first is the archipelago."

"Oh, yeah." Melody’s eyes widened as she remembered. "Didn’t he say there were S-rank beasts there?"

"Yes, and no." Lukas answered. "The main island where the spatial gate leads into is relatively safe."

"As long as one stayed on the main island, they wouldn’t be in trouble. But if they sailed on the sea around it, heading to the other islands, that is when one is more likely to run into an S-rank sea creature. Or at least that’s what Karrakas said."

"I don’t think the island suits us," Akira interrupted. "First, Karrakas said we need to be at least C-rank to even think about heading off the island. That’s an achievement that’s still far off in the future. We’re still not even halfway through E-rank."

"Not to mention, the island has no beasts roaming the surface. If you remember, Karrakas said they’d been cleared of beasts."

"The only way to see any actions is to clear dungeons. And if you ask me, I wouldn’t want to be seeing the insides of dungeons on a daily basis. They’re too dangerous for that."

"She’s right." Melody nodded. "The Second Floor dungeons are different from the First Floor dungeons. These dungeons were not made to be farmed, and cannot be relied on as a source of experience. We need to kill monsters for that."

"That’s true." Lukas nodded. "That means our only option is the underground cable network."

"The tourist spot?" Akira asked, a frown on her face.

"Yeah," Lukas nodded. "First, the strongest recorded beast around there is C-rank, which isn’t much of a problem for us."

"Except they’re made out of crystal." Akira chuckled. "Apparently, everything there is made out of crystals. What are we going to do about that?"

"What do you mean?" Melody asked.

"Think about it. All three of us fight with swords. This’ll be like fighting the Automatons all over again. Our swords wouldn’t be able to pierce through their bodies, which means we would have to rely on smashing them to kill them."

"And fighting in those caves would mean not being able to use some of our strongest offensive skills. Like Lukas’ [Smite] or my grenades so that the routes wouldn’t collapse."

"Actually," a grin appeared on Lukas’ face. "Even if the cave networks collapse, that won’t be a problem for us."

His two wives turned to look at him, brows raised in question.

"With my [Void Step], I can check out the collapse and even move through it. And with my [Bone Wall], I can simply grow bones to reinforce the caves and open collapses."

"No matter what happens, we wouldn’t be stuck without a way home."

There was a moment of silence before everyone broke into smiles.

"Okay, that’s one problem solved." Akira chuckled. "And for the crystal beasts, we could just get bludgeoning weapons. That’s another problem solved. Anything else?"

"We’ll know when Karrakas comes around." Lukas nodded. "But at least our decision is made. We’ll be going to the underground cave network."

"I’ll admit, I’m curious to see what a Second Floor tourist destination looks like." Melody said, already thinking about it.

"Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait for too long before you find out." Lukas grinned.

With that sorted, there were still two days before Karrakas would return, and that made Lukas realize he didn’t even know where the man lived.

This was a case of everybody knowing where they were, but they not knowing where everyone else was.

He’d have to take care of that later, even if it meant moving out to somewhere new.

One could never be too careful.

After a slow morning, they decided to claim their new shops.

Akira decided to stay home and tinker some more, leaving Lukas and Melody to go together.

They headed to the Golden Emporium, but this time, their destination was different.

On the top floor was the Administrative floor, where they verified their ownership with the Emporium’s management, and met with the people renting their shops.

They changed the existing payment information so that the rent would enter their account, and not Morgana’s.

After all the details were taken care of, they returned home.

Two days passed in relative quiet, and before they knew it, Karrakas returned.
