Chapter 242 - 103 – The Hell on Christmas Eve 12

Chapter 242: Chapter 103 – The Hell on Christmas Eve 12

Matthew approached the Baalor slowly with his guns at ready.

The Baalor didn’t attack, it just looked at Matthew, studying him.

"Why are you here, demon?" Matthew asked.

The Baalor just laughed a deep and rough laugh.

"Who commands you to stay still? Not far from here there is a house filled with young women. Why are you fighting your desires?" Matthew questioned him.

The Baalor looked at the direction Matthe came from and licked its lips. Then its face contorted as he looked back at the house.

"What is so important in this place that you have to stay?" Matthew asked again.

"Shut up, son of Adam!" The Baalor shouted in anger.

Matthew used his Entice skill on the demon, trying to take over his head.

"You will tell me." He ordered.

The Baalor clenched his teeth, doing his best to resist the spell.

Matthew walked towards it and placed a hand on its arm, increasing the potency of his spell by coming closer.

The Baalor grunted and moaned as if it was in pain.

"Now!" Matthew ordered.

"Paimon. Paimon ordered me to protect the relic inside." It finally said, keeling in front of Matthew.

"What relic?"

"The chalice." The Baalor pointed inside the house.

Matthew walked past the demon and entered the house.

Inside he found Old Lady Rosa, a latin old woman with tanned skin and long black hair. Actually, what was left of her. All there was around was blood, the bodies of her various cats and her head mounted on top of the fireplace.

Bones were scattered on the ground with bite marks all over them.

"Where’s the chalice?" Matthew asked, doing his best to ignore the gore around him.

The Baalor came inside and took the woman’s head and presented it to Matthew.

"The head?" Matthew questioned.

"Yes. The head was made a receptacle for the essence of life." The Baalor explained.

Essence of life. That was how demons referred to the energy harvest from mortal souls and the Damnata.

"Why is it here?" Matthew asked. "What is the purpose of all this?"

"The chalice is to open a gateway for our master." The demon said.

"Samil?" Matthew asked, knowing he was wrong.

"Paimon." The Baalor corrected him.

"Then destroy the chalice." Matthew ordered.

"I can’t." The Baalor refused.

"Do it now." Matthew ordered again.

"I won’t." The demon defied his control.

Matthew didn’t wait another second, he pointed his gun at the head in the demon’s hand and opened fire.

But the Baalor shielded the head with his own body, taking the bullets on his chain mail. It then blinked twice as if waking up and countered Matthew by shooting him with a laser beam from his eye.

Matthew dodged the attack, which carved a line through the house around them, exploding the walls and setting the furniture on fire.

Telepathically he ordered Ffyr to go back to the house where Sarah faced the Marilith.

"Burn it down! Destroy every body in there!" Matthew urged her. "Fast! I don’t think we have much time!"

Ffyr took flight, using her wind magic to boost her speed.

Matthew drew his swords. He tried to entice the demon again, but failed. Something in the demon protected it from being controlled again.

The Baalor attacked with his axe covered in fire in one hand, and protecting the head with his other hand, forcing Matthew to dodge and keep a distance from him.

Matthew spread miasma around the house and covered it in darkness, hiding in the shadows.

The Baalor, however, covered his body in fire, becoming a light source of his own and keeping Matthew’s darkness at bay.

When Matthew tried to approach the demon, it threw a fan of flames, forcing Matthew to come out of the shadows. As he jumped out, the Baalor attacked with its axe.

Matthew raised both swords with a crossguard to support the full weight of the demon’s attack. In his next movement, he spun with his foot aiming at the Baalor’s knee, kicking it on the side and making it fall on the ground.

When the demon fell, he let go of the head, which bounced on the floor and rolled away from both of them.

Matthew immediately drew his gun and started to shoot bullets covered in unholy flames at the head.

However, the Baalor jumped on top of the head, taking all the bullets on its back and on its wings. It screamed as the unholy fire spread through his wings. But, even so, it turned around firing laser beams at Matthew that dodged them masterfully.

He charged in, ducking and rolling on the floor to avoid the demon’s attacks. And, using Belial’s blade, he stabbed its eye, blinding it and preventing it from shooting any more lasers.

The Baalor screamed in pain and swung his axe in a wide arc, almost cleaving Matthew in twain.

The demon was now thrashing everything around him in a desperate attempt to defend the head in his hand.

Matthew just aimed his gun patiently and shot unholy bullets at Rosa’s head, making it burst into blue flames.

"NO!" The Baalor screamed, hugging the head trying to use his own body to keep it intact.

It was useless, the fire already was consuming the body part.

Matthew kept looking hoping that it was enough.

However, suddenly, a red light took over the head. It got brighter and brighter until it exploded in a powerful wave of energy that ripped the Baalor’s body apart. The house and several others around it were leveled by the blast.

Matthew was sent flying away, trespassing walls and glass like a missile, until finally landing on a pool with his body covered in small cuts and bruises.

"My god." He exclaimed while looking up. A column of red light sprung from the ground where he just was.

Even from the pool he could see 5 other such columns of light spread around the city.

"Ffyr. Are you alright?" He asked telepathically.

"I am. But was almost blasted away by an explosion." She responded.

"Fly high. Look at the city. What is going on?" He asked her.

She did so and, from high up, she could see 6 columns of light evenly distributed around the city, encircling the city center. Then lines of red energy connected the 6 columns forming an hexagram.

"They’re doing it Matt..." She said with fear, making her voice tremble. "They’re summoning Paimon."

The exact center of the hexagram was Obongo Park where the bulk of the demon forces were fighting the army.

A huge red portal appeared over the park. All the army and the demons fighting there started to be drawn inside the gate. Kazan and Helen’s parents were among them.

As they disappeared inside the portal, many demons screamed fearing for their lives. The humans had no idea what was going on and just braced for the worst.

As the lesser demons and some of the soldiers touched the watery surface of the portal, their bodies dissolved and became a gooey liquid like blood. Those who were stronger, like Kazan and Janos, managed to resist the acidic surface of the portal and passed through to hell.

All the others who weren’t so lucky, were compressed into a bloody form that gained shape in the middle of the air. From the ball of blood emerged a figure riding a red horse with black bat wings.

He had short black hair and shining red eyes. His skin was pale and smooth. He had a handsome young asian face like an idol. He was dressed in spiked red armor, with black clothes underneath it. In his hand, resting over his shoulder, he carried a very long and wide sword.

"Is that Paimon?" Matthew tried to look, but all he could see was a distant form of a man riding a winged horse. He was too far away to see.

"What do we do now, Matt?" Ffyr questioned him.

"What we’ve been doing. We kill any demon we find." Matthew said, getting out of the pool and using fire magic to dry himself. "Let’s meet with Michael, then we’ll see what we can do."

"Matthew?" A female voice called to him.

He looked at who spoke to him and it was Amara, the leader of the Winding Foxes.

"What is going on?" She asked him, approaching and looking at his wounds. "Are you alright?"

"I am." He answered using his Heal skill to heal his wounds.

"And the sky? What is this light? What is happening there?" She looked at the city center.

"Something really bad. Grab everyone you can find. Grab your family and leave the city. Tell everybody to leave. Run away as fast as you can." He said ominously.

"Why? What’s going on?" She insisted.

"They just summoned a demon king. No where is safe anymore. Just flee." He said while walking away.

Amara stood still for several minutes before understanding his words. She quickly picked up her phone and started to call everyone she could think of.

"Mom? Get ready. We’re leaving the city. I’m going to get you."
