Chapter 219: Chapter 219: Absolute Freeze

Without hesitation, Long Ming pulled out two spinning grenades and hurled them in different directions.

BOOM!

The explosion rocked the Blood Breath Spider, bringing its pursuit to a sudden halt.

Even the swarm paused for a moment.

Long Ming immediately cut left and ran.

Soon, Luoxue and the others rushed into the tunnel. But they didn’t abandon him; instead, they yelled to Long Ming, who was pinning down the General-class Blood Breath Spider.

"Long Ming, get over here!"

Seeing the opportunity, Long Ming immediately ran toward Luoxue and the others.

"ROAR!"

Seeing Long Ming trying to escape, the General-class Blood Breath Spider gave furious chase.

At the sight, Luoxue and the others raised their weapons and opened fire.

BANG! BANG!

A hail of bullets hammered into the General-class Blood Breath Spider, steadily slowing its advance.

Finally, Long Ming made it into the tunnel entrance.

"Go!"

Luoxue immediately led Long Ming and the others deeper into the tunnel.

Just then, the General-class Blood Breath Spider charged in with a swarm of smaller spiders, continuing its relentless pursuit!

"Crap, they’re catching up to us," Jing Chuan yelled, his face grim as he glanced over his shoulder.

"Everyone, throw your grenades!"

Luoxue commanded without hesitation.

Jing Chuan and the others quickly pulled out their spinning grenades and hurled them back.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Massive explosions engulfed the pursuing General-class Blood Breath Spider and the dense, black swarm, buying Long Ming and his team precious time to escape.

But this was only a temporary fix, not a permanent solution.

Soon, Jing Chuan and the others had thrown their last spinning grenades. They shouted in a panic.

"We’re out of grenades!"

Luoxue’s expression grew even more grim.

Just then, Long Ming spotted a round, sealed metal door at the end of the tunnel ahead. It opened outward, and wisps of cold air were seeping from it. The soldiers at the front had already charged through.

"Luoxue, look ahead!"

Long Ming yelled to Luoxue.

"Push through!"

Luoxue decisively led Jing Chuan and the others in a full sprint toward the door.

THUD! THUD!

Just then, the General-class Blood Breath Spider saw the sealed door, roared, and frantically accelerated its chase.

But it was too late. Just as the Blood Breath Spider was about to catch Long Ming and the others,

they scrambled inside, and the soldiers at the entrance yanked the heavy door shut.

CLANG!

The General-class Blood Breath Spider slammed right into the sealed door.

"Phew, we’re saved!"

Inside, Jing Chuan and the others collapsed to the floor, panting for breath.

Gasping for breath, Long Ming looked around and saw they were in a large, square laboratory.

The room was filled with sophisticated experimental equipment. The temperature was extremely low, and a layer of frost coated the floor and the machines.

"Where are we?"

Having caught their breath, Zhihan and the others looked around and asked.

"Some kind of special laboratory, I think."

Luoxue said calmly, surveying the room.

"So what now? Those damn Blood Breath Spiders have our escape route blocked."

Jing Chuan replied, frustrated.

"Here’s the plan. You guys rest here. I’ll go search for another way out."

Long Ming said to Jing Chuan and the others.

"I’ll go with you."

Jing Chuan immediately scrambled up from the floor.

"We’ll go too,"

Fu Fuqing and the others chimed in.

After a moment’s thought, Luoxue gave the order.

"Zhihan, you and your squad hold this position. The rest of us will go with Long Ming to scout."

"Are you sure that’s a good idea?"

Zhihan asked, a hint of worry in her voice.

"Don’t worry. If we run into any trouble, we’ll fall back here immediately."

Luoxue told Zhihan.

"Alright!"

Zhihan nodded.

Long Ming, Luoxue, and the others headed deeper into the laboratory.

As they moved deeper inside, they found themselves facing five corridors.

"Hey, there are five corridors here."

Jiang Heng said with some surprise.

"We’ll split into pairs and check each corridor. If something seems off, pull back immediately."

Luoxue instructed the group.

"Right!"

Jiang Heng and the others nodded.

Long Ming and Jing Chuan chose the corridor on the far end and went inside.

They hadn’t gone far before the corridor forked.

"What now?"

Jing Chuan asked, looking at Long Ming.

"We’ll each take one."

Long Ming said to Jing Chuan.

"Alright!"

Jing Chuan immediately headed down the left path.

Long Ming took the one on the right.

He hadn’t walked far before rooms began to appear on both sides of the corridor.

Raising his Assaulter rifle, he gently nudged a door open with his foot and peered inside. It was an office, so he entered cautiously.

Soon, he reached the end of the corridor, where the door to one office was slightly ajar.

After a moment of hesitation, he cautiously pushed the door open and stepped inside.

The office was a complete mess. Metal cabinets were overturned everywhere, and file folders were scattered all over the floor.

Long Ming scanned the room carefully but didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

He turned to leave the office.

Just then, Long Ming noticed a red file folder on the floor behind the door.

It stood out from all the other folders.

Pensively, Long Ming walked over, crouched down to pick up the red folder, and opened it.

Inside was a stack of documents and a digital key.

Curious, Long Ming pulled out the documents and began to read. He froze when he saw the title.

*SSS-Class Top Secret: The Absolute Freeze Plan.*

His expression turned grim as he read through the file. The more he read, the more alarmed he became.

The Absolute Freeze Plan had been proposed by Dr. Mokadon of the Aniska Empire. Through his long-term research, he discovered that the incredible resilience of the Blood Breath Beasts was enhanced by blood and thermal energy.

Therefore, low temperatures could significantly reduce a Blood Breath Beast’s vitality. Not only would it inhibit their regenerative abilities, but ordinary Blood Breath Beasts could even be frozen to death after prolonged exposure.

And so, Dr. Mokadon had formulated the SSS-Class Absolute Freeze Plan.

Following this plan, the Aniska Empire constructed a special climate control device behind the capital city. Unfortunately, the empire was annihilated before the device could be completed and activated.

Long Ming couldn’t help but sigh at the revelation. He then put the file away, stuffing it into his backpack.

Just then, he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.

Long Ming turned to see Jing Chuan running over, shouting excitedly.

"Long Ming!"

"What is it? Did you find an exit?"

Long Ming asked, looking at Jing Chuan in confusion.

"Exit? Forget the exit! I found a special armory! Come with me, quick!"

Jing Chuan said excitedly to Long Ming.

"Let’s go!"

Surprised, Long Ming quickly followed Jing Chuan out.

Before long, Jing Chuan led Long Ming to a special armory.

The moment he stepped inside, he couldn’t help but shiver.

The temperature in the armory was even lower than in the lab. Even wearing his exoskeletal armor, Long Ming found the cold almost unbearable.

"Look!"

Jing Chuan shouted excitedly at Long Ming.

Long Ming looked up and saw racks lining the room.

Weapon cases were stacked on the racks.

The cases were filled with cylindrical grenades. Each contained a glass tube of blue liquid and was marked with a snowflake symbol.

Long Ming pulled one out to examine it. ’It looks like some kind of liquid grenade,’ he thought.

"Long Ming, what do you think this is?"

Jing Chuan asked, full of curiosity.

"Let’s test one and find out."

An idea suddenly struck Long Ming, and he walked out of the armory.

"Hey, wait! Don’t just test it randomly!"

Jing Chuan called out, hurrying after him.

Long Ming pulled the pin on the cryo-grenade and tossed it against a nearby wall.

CRACK!

The cryo-grenade shattered on impact, instantly flash-freezing a large section of the wall.

"Whoa... a cryo-weapon!"

Jing Chuan said in amazement.

"I get it now. This lab was dedicated to developing cryo-weapons."

Long Ming said as the realization dawned on him.

"Ugh, and here I thought I’d found some incredible treasure. Turns out it’s just a pile of ice grenades."

Jing Chuan’s excitement vanished the moment he heard Long Ming’s words.

"Don’t write them off just yet," Long Ming said with a smile. "These weapons might be exactly what we need to save our lives!"

"For real?"

Jing Chuan looked at Long Ming in disbelief.
