Gateway of Immortality

Chapter 1315: Seven-Water Illusion Array

As they spoke, the group entered Abyssal Ruin and arrived at the sea of mist where the celestial gate was located.

Deep within the sea of mist, several Sin Abyss Spiritual Infant cultivators stood guard.

Around the vortex, the fluctuations in the mist were faint. Amid the swirling haze, gray threads crisscrossed in every direction, appearing and disappearing intermittently. They were none other than the Heavenly Net Origin-Locking Array personally laid down by Fairy Qiuzhi.

The Heavenly Net Origin-Locking Array hovered above the vortex, preventing Old Devil Ye from returning if he escaped once more.

However, the array's range and power were limited. Their purpose in coming here this time was to gather every top expert in Beichen Realm and establish a massive grand array that would completely seal this region of space.

So long as Old Devil Ye dared leave Sin God Palace, this array would surely trap him. Before that, they still wanted to test whether they could activate the celestial gate the same way Old Devil Ye had.

Qin Sang flashed to the edge of the vortex and activated the Sky Eyes, staring into its depths. The mist within was so dense it had reached the absolute extreme, endless and immeasurable. Even when he pushed his supernatural ability to its limit, all he could see was chaotic obscurity.

After that, Qin Sang and the others took turns probing it. They tried many times and exhausted every method they could think of, but the celestial gate remained completely unresponsive. In the end, they had no choice but to give up.

"Let's set up the Seven-Water Illusion Array. Once the array is complete, until Ziwei Palace emerges, we will rotate guards here. We must not allow Old Devil Ye to exploit any opening..." Zhenyi said.

No one objected.

The purpose of using the Seven-Water Illusion Array to seal the celestial gate was to block Old Devil Ye inside and ensure a certain victory. Before Ziwei Palace closed, Old Devil Ye would have no way to pass through Ziwei Palace’s celestial array and escape.

Furthermore, if anything unexpected happened, they could rely on the Seven-Water Illusion Array to buy time.

Zhenyi produced a wide variety of array artifacts, all of them urgently refined over the past month.

Then Zhenyi, the Feathered King, Canghong, Devil Lord Tongyou, Qingjun, Lu Boyuan, and Fairy Qiuzhi each took out a jade bottle.

Each bottle was a different color, containing one of seven rare spiritual waters. Only by pooling the strength of the five great factions had they managed to gather all seven, specifically for the Seven-Water Illusion Array.

Although Qin Sang was powerful, his cultivation was still inferior to theirs, making him unable to wield the spiritual waters. He remained at the side on guard.

Most of the array artifacts for the spiritual array had come from Qingjun’s hands, and she took charge of the array.

Qingjun rose into the air above the vortex. With a flick of her fingers, array artifact after array artifact flew outward in all directions. Their paths seemed chaotic and disordered as they continuously vanished into the mist.

"Junior Brother, withdraw the Heavenly Net Origin-Locking Array." Upon hearing Qingjun’s voice transmission, Qin Sang moved with Daoist Shan and the others, dismantled the array, and swiftly retreated outward.

Whoosh! Qin Sang summoned the eighteen devilish banners. They transformed into towering banners fifteen meters high, while blazing devilish flames gathered before him into a black dragon. The fire dragon coiled in place, poised for battle.

Qin Sang turned and watched Qingjun and the others work. After the battle at Yu City, Qingjun had left alone to handle some matters. She returned several days later looking entirely normal, with no sign of injury.

Zhenyi and the others flew to Qingjun’s side. After a series of coordinated movements, the seven simultaneously uncorked their jade bottles and poured out the spiritual waters.

Each possessed a different nature. Some radiated bone-piercing cold, even surpassing mystic ice. Some burned as hot as molten magma. Some brimmed with vigorous vitality.

Qingjun and the others rapidly infused layers of intricate runes into the spiritual waters.

Not long after, a series of explosive pops rang out as the waters burst apart into mist, then completely vanished, merging into the surrounding mist.

From the outside, everything looked unchanged. Qingjun and the others flew away from the vortex, turned back for one glance, and silently formed a hand seal.

In an instant, the mist sea changed dramatically. Dense mist surged upward, and the entire vortex vanished from sight.

Everyone could sense that the mist here was fundamentally different from elsewhere. At its core, it was transformed from spiritual water, carrying astonishing power. If someone unfamiliar with the Seven-Water Illusion Array accidentally entered, even an unmaintained array would likely have trapped them for quite some time.

"The array is complete!" Qingjun gave a slight nod and handed each of them a command token to control the array.

Lu Boyuan stepped forward. "I have recently needed a secluded place to help Daoist Cold Lizard recover from its injuries. This place is ideal. For the next two years, I will stand guard here. I only ask that Daoist Canghong keep close watch on this place. If Old Devil Ye breaks out, I'm afraid I may not be able to stop him alone."

Canghong was delighted and nodded repeatedly. "That would be a great help, Daoist Lu. I will keep men stationed in Abyssal Ruin at all times to assist you."

After some discussion, they set the rotation schedule. Then the group dispersed.

Some remained in Abyssal Ruin. Since Sin Abyss had finally opened it to them after so long, naturally they intended to explore it thoroughly.

Qin Sang also wanted to inspect the main altar of the Heavenly Corpse Sect. Perhaps he might find something he had previously overlooked. He had only just flown out of the mist when someone suddenly called out to him.

"Daoist Qin, please wait!" A figure flew over from afar.

Once Qin Sang saw who it was, understanding immediately dawned on him. Smiling, he said, "So it was you, Daoist. Last time within the array, fate denied us a meeting. I had long regretted it. At last, I have met you in person. Have you come to settle accounts?"

The newcomer was none other than Judge.

Judge gave a bitter smile. "Daoist Qin, you must be joking. I was blind and overestimated myself. Having fallen at your hands on the battlefield, I was utterly convinced of my defeat. I came for two reasons. First, to witness your bearing in person. Second, I have an impolite request."

Seeing how honest Judge was, Qin Sang found it difficult to mock him. He took out the Death Jade. "Did you come for this?"

Judge’s eyes lit up, and he nodded repeatedly. "As expected, nothing escapes your discerning eye. This Death Jade is extremely important to me. I must rely on it to control corpse arrays. Though I can refine a new one, doing so would require enormous time and effort. Now that the two domains have made peace, and this Death Jade is worthless in your hands, I hoped to ask for its return. Of course, whatever you ask in exchange, I will do my utmost to fulfill."

Judge spoke with complete sincerity.

His second primary soul had been destroyed, greatly diminishing his strength. He had already sacrificed treasures he had hoarded for many years as compensation, and reforging his primary soul had nearly exhausted him. If he also had to refine a new Death Jade, he feared he would have no chance at all of surviving his next heavenly tribulation. He could only swallow his pride and come personally.

Qin Sang pondered silently. The Death Jade indeed had little use in his hands. Meanwhile, this man came from Sin Abyss and was deeply versed in the Corpse Dao, making him highly valuable.

"It will not be difficult for me to return the Death Jade," Qin Sang said. "I am currently seeking fire-attributed spiritual materials to refine an astra. If you can find several kinds for me, I will return the Death Jade to you..."

Judge caught the jade slip list Qin Sang tossed over. A bitter expression crossed his face. Every material on the list was incomparably precious. Finding them might take even longer than refining a new Death Jade.

Reading his expression, Qin Sang paused, then added, "If you find that troublesome, you may instead do several things for me. Under those conditions, I can be more flexible."

Judge was overjoyed. "Please tell me!"

"I am searching for a Golden Core cultivator proficient in the Corpse Dao. However, this person’s corpse refinement arts differ from the norm. What he obtained was the inheritance of Heavenly Corpse Sect, so it would be best to begin investigating from Heavenly Corpse Sect itself." With that, Qin Sang brought Judge with him and flew toward the headquarters of Heavenly Corpse Sect.

"Heavenly Corpse Sect?" A look of surprise appeared on Judge’s face.

Qin Sang’s heart stirred. As expected, this man knows something.
