In the centre of Dawnscape City, where the sky was illuminated by skyscrapers, young men and women in fashionable clothes were going in and out of bars and clubs, having fun. Within the VIP section of one of the most popular clubs in the city, Dean and his cronies were laughing and drinking while being accompanied by scantily clad women who were faking excitement as the men touched them in an attempt to get more credits out of them.
"I tell you, everyone claimed that rare spawn was hard and that no one would be able to handle it solo, but guess who managed it the first time?" Dean bragged while groping a woman's breast that was on his lap before having some of his drink and continuing. "That's right, you're looking at him, and the loot was top tier also."
"Haha, of course, boss, no one is better than you." One of Dean's cronies replied in a fawning manner
"Damn straight, there is a reason I am the number one in this city," Dean said, laughing before forcing the woman to kiss him.
A few seconds later, he pushed her off his lap before saying, "Go get me another drink bitch, earn your keep."
The woman turned and left with a revolted look on her face, which she quickly hid when she recognised another of Dean's cronies approaching the door.
"Mark your back, what took you so long?” Dean asked as he noticed the guy who had been standing outside John’s apartment enter.
Mark grabbed a drink and had a swig before saying, “You won't believe what I saw when I passed that poor bastard's apartment."
You mean that dickhead John?" Dean asked. "What was it? Did he actually manage to buy something for himself for once?"
As Dean's cronies laughed at his joke, Mark shook his head and said something that got everyone's attention: “Sarah Lapis, Blue Ice Queen.”
"FUCK OFF," Dean shouted before saying. "What would Blue Ice Queen be doing in that rundown part of the city? She’s the empress’ niece for fucks sake.”
"It was her boss, I’m telling you?" Mark stated adamantly.
“Yeah right, it was probably just someone who looked vaguely like her and you made the mistake because it was dark,” Dean said dismissively before smirking at Mark and saying. “Still, you into Blue Ice Queen huh? You got good taste there, man. Though personally I’d prefer Melissa Delacruz, those tits are something else.”
“You could lose yourself for days in those babies, boss,” One of the cronies said with a laugh.
"No, boss, it was her, I swear; she even had someone that looked like an assistant waiting by the car she drove away in," Mark replied before adding in a confused tone. “Though admittedly she left the man behind.”
"Left the man behind, lame," Dean said before pulling a different girl over to sit on his lap so that he could molest her breast. “It was probably just some random dude trying to pick the bitch up.”
"No boss for reals, John even left in the same car as Sarah Lapis," Mark tried to explain.
"Why the fuck would Sarah Lapis drive off with John Michaels?" Dean scoffed. “They probably just looked like them because it was dark and you’d had too much to drink.
After he finished speaking, Dean shoved the girl he was molesting off his lap before pushing her onto the floor and pulling her by the hair, so her head was between his legs. “Don't just sit there bitch; use that mouth of yours to make me happy if you want paying.”

An hour later, John was flying over the Eloa continent.
After getting into the car with Sarah, John was driven directly to Dawnscape City Airport, where he immediately boarded her private plane.

Sarah used her identity to bypass any checks that would normally need to be carried out on a person or luggage, as Queen Alexia had ordered her to get John to Eclipse City as soon as possible.
John had never flown before, so this was all a novel experience for him. As he boarded the plane, he was greeted by three attractive females. One of them was the captain and she introduced herself and her co-pilot before introducing the stewardess.
John greeted them all before the stewardess showed him to his seat while Sarah followed behind and the pilot and co-pilot started the pre-flight checks.
The stewardess asked them both if he would like anything to drink, but not knowing what was available and feeling uncomfortable with having someone serve him, he just asked for water. Sarah noticed his nervousness and couldn’t help but giggle before she ordered them both something.
Eventually the plane took off and headed for Eclipse Cith while John looked out the window, watching the scenery go past underneath while he felt amazed that he was actually flying on a plane.
“So what do you think?” Sarah asked as the plan leveled out.
“It’s incredible,” John honestly replied, making Sarah smile as she said. “You think this is something? Wait till you get to fly a dragon or gryphon in Genesis.”
“Do dragons actually exist?” John asked in surprise. “They're supposed to all be asleep, at least here in the real world.”
“That’s only in the real world; in Genesis they're wide awake and roaming the northern continent.”
“I take you’ve been to other continents then? Both in real life and Genesis, I mean.”
“I have, though not all of them. I even have some friends among the other races that you might meet in the future if you're lucky,” Sarah replied while giving a playful wink.
“Why would I meet them?” John asked in surprise.
“Don’t you want to?”
“No, no,” John replied, waving his hands. “I just figured that once we arrived, we wouldn’t see each other again, you being the empress’s and your identity as Blue Ice Queen and all.”
“Silly boy,” Sarah smiled. “Someone's got to teach you about Eclipse City and Genesis since you admitted yourself that you don’t know much. And I volunteer.”
“Thanks,” John said with a shy smile.
“What’s this, what’s this?” Sarah teased playfully. “You go from insulting me about my bad taste in men to being all shy?”
“Sorry about that,” John replied as he rubbed the back of his neck. “I shouldn’t have said those things.”
“It’s fine, you weren't wrong after all,” Sarah shrugged. “I’m fully aware that I have bad taste in men.”
“Like your assistant?” John asked.
“You noticed that, huh?” Sarah asked while sighing.
“Bit hard not to with how he was looking at you compared to the obvious jealousy he directed at me.”
“Yeah, sorry about that. I should have gotten rid of him a while ago, but I just haven't had the time to find a replacement.”
“So you abandoned him in Dawnscape City?” John asked with a smirk.
“He'll survive,” Sarah shrugged.
“So how do you plan to show me around in Genesis when you level what?” John asked as a way to change the subject.
Sarah noticed this and flashed him a grateful smile before saying, “Well, if I go through with whatever this perfect rebirth is, I will be able to join you in the starter village and show you around.”
“If we get put into the same starter village.”
“I guess I’ll just have to hope we do.”
John smiled at her response before asking, “So have you gotten your reward from Tia yet?”
“I won’t receive it until I next log into Genesis.”
“That’s a shame; I was curious how it would turn out.”
Sarah was about to reply when she suddenly got a notification on her access band. Looking down at it, her eyes widened in surprise as she asked, “How?”
As if hearing her question, Tia suddenly appeared on the plane's holographic screen again before saying, “It’s a new feature I’ve been considering implementing. It notifies a player whenever they receive a quest reward when they're not logged in, or something sells on the auction house. I’m still finalising the details and it’s not yet ready for release.”
“It’s incredible that even now you're still updating and improving Genesis,” John marvelled.
“Coming from someone who is yet to even enter Genesis, I’m not sure how I should take that,” Tia replied.
John smiled before saying, “As a compliment.”
“Very well, John Michaels and thank you.”
John nodded before curiously looking at Sarah. Upon understanding what it was that he was curious about, Sarah smiled before showing him the notification Tia had just sent her.
[Quest Completed]
[Help Tia contact John Michaels and discover the level of the Dawnscape city corruption. (Atlantia Unique Quest)]
[Reward: 1 drop of Ice Phoenix Blood]
“Oh, you got it, nice,” John said happily.
Sarah smiled back and was about to say more when another notification window appeared.
[Ice Phoenix blood detected; would you like to combine it with 'Blood of the Immortal Phoenix Pearl'?]
[ Yes] [ No]
“Wait, you can do that?” John asked in surprise.
“No, or at least I shouldn't be able to. Those items don’t exist in the real world after all,” Sarah replied in confusion before turning to Tia and asking. “Is this another planned update?”
“No, this is a special exception,” Tia replied as she glanced at John before quickly looking away.
