Genius Archer's Streaming

Season 5: Chapter 119. Short-Form Content (1)

The Knight Order members all watched it unfold.

"Insane strategy..."

They marveled at the operation proposed by Lemon, a former stream sniper.

— She knows dedicated snipers too well

— There's an add-on for what

— Oh so THAT'S how sniping worked???

Using the stream sniper add-on, GoodSniper, only showed when the target had entered a lobby or when a game was found. It didn't show who was in their party. Lemon had found that gap and positioned Bubblegum in the back.

"She has the sniper's psychology completely figured out... This kid..." Black Tea muttered in disbelief.

— lmaooooooooooo

— She’s a reformed sniper LOL

— Old memories LOL

— fr

A stream sniper’s goal was to meet the streamer. Winning the game wasn’t the goal, which meant they'd leave if Bubblegum wasn't on the team. This prediction was dead accurate. Rather than immediately preparing for combat when they spotted enemies, the other team prepared to escape first.

"Wow, so cowardly."

"Ugh. People who snipe are really something~."

"Hey! Sweet Potato! There are good snipers like Gyuri!"

"G-good snipers?! Where on earth!?"

— lmaooooooooooo

— LOL good snipers

— GoodSniper is actually a thing yeah

— fr lmaooo

— Black Tea is playing favorites

Sweet Potato shrugged. "You just called them cowardly yourself!?"

"Come on! They exist! Then, what is Gyuri?!"

"That's someone who reformed."

"No, she was originally a good person!"

"Everyone is good at heart~."

— fr LOL

— True

— They say nobody in prison doesn't have a story

— lmaooo Sweet Potato

— Sweet Potato has been sniped a lot too lol

The viewers also weren't taking the sniper’s side.

Black Tea deflated a little at that. "They just want to play together... That's all some people want..."

"...?"

When Black Tea actually got subdued, Sweet Potato didn't push further.

"Well... I, I guess there are people like G-Gyuri."

"Right! Ahahaha! So, oppa admits it!? Huh!?" Black Tea suddenly came back to life and started slapping him on the back.

"...?"

It had been an act, apparently.

"Good snipers exist! Sweet Potato admitted it~!"

— LOL

— Black Tea... that was embarrassing...

— She loves Lemon that much

— lmaooooo

— Gyuri really is good though!

"I’m taking it back~."

"Taking back what! Canceling the cancellation~!?"

"How do you cancel a cancellation?"

While they debated the nature of snipers, one person remained quiet. Whether Lemon was a former sniper or not, that didn’t matter to Sweet Radish right now. He was seeing something else.

'He's listening to teammate opinions, even Gyuri's.'

Orange King's method incorporated everyone’s opinions.

'It wasn't that he felt structural limitations and revised the strategy?'

Just a moment ago, he'd been certain that Orange King had felt the need to rebuild the strategy and changed everything. Watching Orange King incorporate Lemon's opinion, Sweet Radish realized something else.

'He was actually taking in Almond's opinions all along.'

Sweet Radish had been absolutely certain that would never happen, but Orange King was doing exactly that right now.

'No, not just Almond. He's essentially incorporating every teammate's opinion.'

Orange King was playing to each teammate's strengths.

'Come to think of it, he did listen to Bubblegum too.'

When Bubblegum suggested Raina, Orange King acted like he wasn't listening. Actually, he listened until the end. Compared to the plan Orange King himself had established, it was simply inferior and was discarded.

Orange King didn't explain each decision, but he mentally weighed and compared multiple opinions on a scale. His own strategy was also on that scale.

'How is he doing that?'

This was absolutely not easy.

'It's not simply accepting calls.'

Of course, reports like someone’s location were always accepted. That was the baseline and part of briefing-type communication. What Orange King was executing right now was something closer to real-time discussion in Survival mode, where every second counted.

'How fast does he process things?'

Though he'd retired after encountering the natural disaster that was JeonJaPa, he was befitting of the great Jungler Calculator title he'd held until then. When one thought about it, the public perception that he got demolished by JeonJaPa every time was kind of funny too.

'You can't keep running into someone and get demolished if you're not consistently making the top four.'

Orange King had to reach at least the top four to face JeonJaPa on an important stage. Getting demolished by JeonJaPa every time was actually, when flipped, proof of his skill. Realizing this, Sweet Radish focused again.

'Let's see. How does this play out?'

His eyes widened. Viewers had no way of knowing, but they were wide. The pro instincts still lived somewhere in him. He could learn something here.

Crash!

Almond burst out of the bushes with an attack and a greeting. "It's me, Almond."

— It's meeee~ Almond!

— It's meeee~

— lmaooooo

BubbleSniper's teammates muttered among themselves.

"What? He’s claiming to be Almond?"

"Then, should we go? This isn't Bubblegum's team."

"I don't know. Just... we don't know where they're surrounding us from, so we need to be careful."

Rustle rustle...

Movement could be felt through the bushes, but exact positions were unknown. The only one visible was the person claiming to be Almond.

"GROOOAARRR!"

Meanwhile, the Red Turtle continued rampaging. The champion, Great Monolith Kutan, was holding firm. Having contracted a tank champion first, the enemy team’s stability was notable.

BubbleSniper glanced sideways at Kutan's health and asked, "... You're Almond?"

He hadn't forgotten Almond, but didn't know exactly what Almond looked like since the graphical rendering style was different in every game. The Almond he'd seen in the realistic Battle Large looked different from the Almond in LIL.

"Yeah."

The only way to recognize someone was by their nickname.

[DumbYoungMan]

As far as he knew, Almond's nickname was LazySoldier.

"Get out of here. It says DumbYoungMan."

"..."

— lmaooooooooooo

— Oh...

— LOL

— Dum~ my~

— Hahahaha

— Be glad it's not the Smart Young Man anymore tsk tsk

"This is me! There were tons of trending community posts about it..."

BubbleSniper had no particular interest outside of Bubblegum's stream and didn't know what had been happening in Almond's stream.

"... I don't do online forums."

— Almond's fans will be offended

— lmaooooooooooo

— He doesn't browse the internet!

— lmaooooo

— Insane

— A sniper but too cool for the blogs

— lmaooooo

— Ugh...

— They can't recognize the face card lmaooo

Whispers came from his teammates.

Crackle.

Someone wanted to retreat.“Hey, this isn't Bubblegum's team. Let's just go.”

“What? Shouldn't we take this?”

However, they could also kill the Turtle before leaving.

“We've been taking hits. You want to just leave?”

Kutan wanted to finish the Red Turtle. They had invested too much and didn't want it to go to waste.

“And what if we die? Going to snipe again!? We can't even see the rest of their team! Finding Bubblegum is what matters!”

“No, their carry is right in front of us. What's there to be scared of? They're only level 3!”

“Hey! If that's really Almond, then their team is the Knight Order? That's a seriously stacked team. If we fight them, we'll get torn apart? On top of that, the carry just voluntarily showed themselves! They've got something going on!”

Various opinions flew back and forth. Ultimately, the judgment fell to BubbleSniper.

'What is this?'

BubbleSniper's eyes flickered.

'They're just staying in the bushes...'

The standoff lasted longer than expected. A game like LIL could have dozens of judgment calls flying back and forth within a single second. Right now, they'd been talking for over five seconds. Five seconds was enough time to kill a glass-cannon carry twice over.

A carry champion had been contracted. Having the carry come out to talk first was strange.

'Why do something this risky?'

Rustle...!

Near BubbleSniper, the bushes where Orange King was hiding swayed. He was carefully observing the enemy. If a fight broke out, knowing the opponent's specs meant being able to fight better.

'At least one champion...'

They had a level advantage of one, but only for two of them. It looked like they'd split.

'Did they split their forces to look for Bubblegum?'

Two enemies were at level four, and three were at level three by the looks of it.

Almond got to the point. "Anyway, you came looking for Bubblegum again, right?"

"...?"

"Then leave the Turtle and just go."

It was a direct threat. He seemed to have judged that time couldn't be wasted.

Huuuuum!

White light burned at Almond's fingertips.

"You want to die here without even finding Bubblegum? Hurry up and go."

BubbleSniper was about to just leave, but stopped.

"... How do you know?"

"It's obvious you're here to snipe Bubblegum."

"No, I mean, how do you know Bubblegum is in the same game as us?"

"..."

— Wow

— Curious

— What

— This person's perception lmaooo

— Oh no

— lmaooooo

— Why did you say that LOL

— Insane Almond is trolling

— He's not cut out for espionage...

"Ah..." Almond muttered and fired a finger gun.

Crash!

Ran's skill fired at the enemy once more.

"!"

Flash!

BubbleSniper's team scattered in multiple directions. Ran's shot sliced through the air. The bushes on both sides folded flat along the light's path.

— What

— Whoa

— Insane

— Mechanics

Multiple judgments were split.

"They missed! Get them!"

BubbleSniper's side figured one of Ran's skills was now on cooldown and rushed in. At this point, they'd assume the opposing side only had one champion. This was an opportunity.

'Hm? If this happens...!?'

To Orange King, this was also an opportunity.

He immediately drew a breath and shouted, "WARNING!!!"

His judgment was to start a team fight.

Rumble...!

Iron Ball rolled in from across the field.
