Hearing Aether’s suggestion, Su Yuan also felt it was worth a try...
Although using Tartaglia’s Foul Legacy without permission carried great risk, there was no time to worry about that now.
So, Su Yuan closed his eyes and focused his thoughts.
In the next instant, the Foul Legacy armor manifested over his body!
And this time, Su Yuan could clearly feel that the Abyssal power within the armor was even stronger than in any of his previous summons!
He wondered — was it because he was becoming more skilled at summoning and using the armor?
Or was there some kind of built-in mechanism within the Foul Legacy itself?
But whatever the reason, now wasn’t the time to think about it.
After summoning the armor, Su Yuan dashed forward at incredible speed toward the fusing Consecrated Beasts!
He gathered Abyssal energy in his hands, preparing to unleash a fierce strike at the invisible barrier surrounding them.
However, to his surprise, the powerful attack he had been charging didn’t collide with anything at all — it was as if the barrier wasn’t there.
He slipped right through and appeared beside the merging Consecrated Beasts without resistance!
"Su Yuan! Nicely done!!!"
Seeing this, everyone on the field couldn’t help but cheer:
"Su Yuan, attack the Husks’ remains quickly! Stop the fusion!"
"Got it!!" Su Yuan nodded without hesitation and unleashed a barrage of Abyssal-powered strikes upon the five Consecrated Beasts remains before him!
Whether because of the unique nature of the Abyssal power, or because the Husks’ bodies were already weakened, Su Yuan’s assault proved overwhelmingly effective — his strikes reduced the remains nearly to dust!
Soon after, the Husks’ movements finally ceased, their fusion halted completely...
"My goodness, do we really have to grind their bodies into powder just to stop them from moving?"
Su Yuan couldn’t help but sigh:
"The vitality of these Consecrated Beasts is truly ridiculous..."
"Such tenacious life force reminds me of Dottore — you can’t feel at ease until you’ve minced him into paste."
After hearing Su Yuan’s words of reflection, Aether immediately spoke up, "Su Yuan, you know what? You might actually be onto something..."
"Didn’t Dottore once treat the Spiral Abyss as one of his bases in Mondstadt?"
"And this kind of hybrid fusion experiment really does sound like something Dottore would do..."
"Wait a minute—could it be that Dottore and Aji have some sort of connection? Are they two of a kind?" Paimon asked curiously.
Just as everyone was trying to figure out their next move, a loud boom echoed from ahead—the massive gate leading to the next floor had suddenly opened!
Everyone was overjoyed.
They had actually cleared what was supposed to be a path of death... without paying any kind of sacrifice?!
"Su Yuan, this is all thanks to you!" everyone exclaimed in admiration.
"If you hadn’t used the power of the Abyss to break through that invisible barrier and stop those five Sacred Beasts from merging, we would’ve been finished!"
"This can’t be all my credit," Su Yuan scratched his head modestly.
"The Foul Legacy originally belonged to Tartaglia. Even though he isn’t here, part of the credit should go to him too."
With that, the group proceeded through the passage toward the next floor...
When they arrived at the entrance to the sixth level, they spotted Lisa and Rosaria waiting for them.
Upon seeing everyone safe, the two immediately voiced their concern:
"Everyone, are you all right?"
"The path we took just now... actually, it turned out to be the path of life!"
"Except for a few Slimes and hilichurls, there weren’t any strong monsters at all—we made it through without much trouble."
"If that’s the case, then the path you took must’ve been the dangerous one, right? Are you all okay? Did anyone... get hurt or worse?"
But soon, Rosaria and Lisa were stunned to realize that not only was no one missing from the main group, but they didn’t even look injured in the slightest.
"Don’t tell me the Spiral Abyss’s rule system malfunctioned?" Rosaria muttered in disbelief.
"Did your path... somehow count as a path of life too?"
"That’s not it—it’s all thanks to big brother Su Yuan!" Klee said happily, overjoyed to see Lisa and Rosaria safe as well.
She eagerly explained everything that had just happened to them.
After that, everyone’s eyes once again turned toward the entrance of the sixth floor...
As expected, there were once again two branching paths ahead.
In the middle of the floor stood a small sign, just like before, covered in Aji’s handwriting:
[I didn’t expect you all to make it through the fifth floor of the Spiral Abyss like that!]
[I won’t waste words here—the rules for the sixth floor are about the same as before...]
[There’s still one path of life and one path of death...]
[But this time, each path must have at least three members.]
[Good luck. I’m looking forward to seeing you soon...]
Reading Aji’s message, everyone furrowed their brows in silence.
As they suspected—the deeper they went, the more people each path required.
They had been lucky to make it through the fifth floor unscathed, but no one could guarantee that fortune would follow them into the sixth.
After two failed attempts earlier, Aether no longer dared to hope that everyone could take the same path and somehow force their way through the "path of death" together.
The risk was simply too great, and the odds of success far too low.
Even splitting into two groups was no guarantee—the larger team might still end up on the wrong side.
So the most efficient approach was to divide their forces here and now, assigning teams before stepping onto separate paths.
"This time, there’s no need to discuss it," Klee spoke up decisively.
"Let me go with Sister Lisa and Sister Rosaria!"
"I’m part of Mondstadt too, and I want to do my part!"
"But Klee, you’re still just a child..." Aether said softly, unable to hide the worry in his voice.
"If something were to happen to you, do you realize how heartbroken your mother, Alice, would be...?"
Klee shook her head firmly. "Those adventurers and Knights of Favonius who fell before us—weren’t they also someone’s children?"
"Just because I’m Alice’s daughter doesn’t mean I’m nobler or deserve special protection."
"Life has no rank or worth—it’s the same for everyone!"
"Honorary Knight big brother, don’t you dare underestimate me!!!"
