Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!
Chapter 862 - 862: The Rejection"How dare you speak about my friend in that tone?!" Wuhan roared. "Who do you think you are?"
The pressure of a Soul Budding Realm cultivator filled the throne room like an ocean of power, and Song Tian Ye was drowning in it.
Shi Tzu had immediately shielded himself with protective talismans, but even he felt the edges of that tremendous power and couldn't help but take an involuntary step backward.
From her shadowy corner, Feng Niu's killing intent receded slightly, replaced by satisfaction. 'Hehe, show that fool his place.'
Wuhan stood from his throne.
The simple act of rising seemed to magnify the pressure tenfold. Song Tian Ye gasped, his body shaking as he tried and failed to lift his head from the floor.
As Wuhan descended the steps from the raised platform, each footfall echoed through the silent throne room.
He stopped directly in front of the prostrate envoy.
"This is the posture you should have used since the moment you walked in." When he spoke, his voice was cold. Colder than Feng Niu had ever heard it. Colder than ice, colder than death, all because the six hidden families dared to target Noah, his only friend.
"You are in the presence of an Emperor," Wuhan said, each word precise and cutting. "You will address me as such."
Song Tian Ye tried to speak, but the pressure on his lungs made it almost impossible to draw breath.
"I have no ties to the Song Family," Wuhan continued, his tone absolute and final. "The day they exiled my mother, the day they cast out one of their own for not going along with their pathetic games and being the pawn they desired her to be, was the day any connection between us ended."
He took another step closer, and Song Tian Ye's body pressed harder against the floor, the stone cracking further beneath him.
"You come into my palace. You show disrespect to my throne. You threaten my empire. You demand I hand over someone under my protection." Wuhan's voice dropped even lower. "And you dare to call me cousin?"
The pressure increased again, and Song Tian Ye made a sound that might have been a whimper.
"I am not your cousin," Wuhan said, his words carrying the weight of absolute truth. "I am not a grandson of your pathetic family head. I am not interested in your coordination, your demands, or your threats."
He crouched down, bringing his face level with Song Tian Ye's, though the envoy still couldn't lift his head to meet his eyes.
"I am the Emperor of this land. I am the Phoenix of the East. The one who will lead my people to victory against the Red Dawn Empire even if none of you cowards dare to step out of their caves." His voice was soft now, but somehow more terrifying for it. "And you... you are an insect who forgot his place."
Wuhan stood again, looking down at the trembling form before him.
"You will return to the Song Family," he said, his tone now carrying the formal weight of an imperial decree. "You will tell them that Emperor Wuhan of the Phoenix Empire acknowledges their message and rejects it entirely."
"I will speak to the other empires and have them join forces with me in attack against the Red Dawn Cult. If you want to help, be my guest, and if you don't, just stay where you are, hide in your little holes, and wait for the cult to infiltrate your families and hollow them from inside out."
His eyes grew even colder.
"You will tell them that Noah is under my personal protection, and anyone who moves against him moves against me. If the six Hidden Families have a problem with that, they are welcome to come and discuss it personally."
He paused, letting that sink in.
"And you will tell your grandfather that if he wishes to meet me, he can come here, to my palace, and request an audience like anyone else. I do not go to those who summon me. They come to me, for I am Feng Wuhan."
Wuhan released a fraction more of his cultivation pressure, and Song Tian Ye's scream was muffled by the stone his face was pressed against.
"Finally," Wuhan said, his voice dropping to barely above a whisper, "you will remember this moment. You will remember what it feels like to be crushed beneath real power when you have none. And you will never, ever, show such disrespect in my presence again."
The pressure vanished all at once.
Song Tian Ye gasped, sucking in air like a drowning man breaking the surface. His entire body shook with reaction, his expensive robes soaked with sweat and blood from his broken nose.
"Captain Jia Heng," Wuhan called out, not taking his eyes off the trembling envoy. The captain appeared instantly, her face carefully neutral despite what she'd just witnessed.
"Your Majesty?"
"Escort this... person... out of the palace. Provide him with basic healing for his injuries—we are not barbarians. Then ensure he leaves the capital by sundown."
"At once, Your Majesty."
Captain Jia Heng grabbed Song Tian Ye by the collar with utmost 'respect' and hauled him to his feet. The envoy's legs were shaking so badly he could barely stand.
As she began to drag him toward the exit, Wuhan spoke one final time.
"Oh, and Song Tian Ye?"
The envoy turned his head slightly, though he still didn't dare meet Wuhan's eyes.
"Tell your grandfather that the next envoy he sends had better show proper respect. My patience has limits, and he has already tested them. He must be getting old, so he keeps forgetting the six hidden families are made of six houses."
Song Tian Ye nodded frantically, then allowed himself to be led—half-dragged, really—out of the throne room.
The doors closed behind them with a hollow boom.
Silence filled the throne room.
Wuhan remained standing where he was for a long moment, his expression slowly returning to its normal state of calm neutrality.
"Was it wise, your majesty?" Even though Shi Tzu asked that, there was a big satisfied smile on his face. "Won't we incur the wrath of the hidden families?"
"Don't worry, it might not be the six families who made this decision." Hearing the cold voice startled Shu Tzu. He snapped his head back to see Feng Niu walking out of the shadows.
