"How can there be so many demon gods in this world?"

"Didn’t I deal with a Water Demon before? So why has a new demon god suddenly appeared? I’m quite curious to know what’s really going on."

Even Wang Zhan was at a loss for a moment.

He couldn’t quite figure out the situation at once.

The Azure Dragon Venerable standing nearby slowly spoke, "Actually, it’s quite simple. Many demon gods have always existed on the Star War Battlefield, but you all didn’t know because long ago, a great battle occurred there. During that battle, all the demon gods were suppressed, but the formation techniques sealing the demon gods have gradually loosened over time. In the upcoming period, we will naturally need to quickly suppress the demon gods."

"If those demon gods return to the world, it will be a disaster for the entire Star War Battlefield. Not only will we, who sealed the demon gods, suffer retaliation, but even you may not escape unscathed. You’ve already seen the means of a Water Demon before— a truly vicious and malevolent creature..."

"If such a creature breaks free, it could plunge the entire sea domain into endless catastrophe..."

This is not a joke.

Wang Zhan was also well aware of these things.

After hesitating for a moment, he nodded heavily and said, "Since that’s the case, I’m also a person of the Star War Battlefield now. I can’t just stand by and watch this group of demon gods run rampant. So I might as well confront them and see for myself how capable these demon gods really are, and if they truly are the invincible beings you all say they are..."

The Azure Dragon Venerable nodded, smiled approvingly, and continued, "Good, your willingness is more than enough. But remember to be cautious. Soon we’ll enter the demon god’s lair, which is very different from the environment we’re in now. Once inside, you’ll be under great pressure, so you’ll need to use every means at your disposal just to barely withstand it!"

Wang Zhan nodded, although he wasn’t quite sure what the Azure Dragon Venerable meant, it no longer mattered.

Nearby, the Black Tortoise Venerable smiled and said, "Don’t worry. We only want to use your Poseidon’s Trident to open the barrier. Once that’s done, you can retrieve the Crystal Armor. As for the demon god, leave it to us to handle. There’s no need for you two to worry. If it really comes to a critical moment, we’ll ensure your safety."

Wang Zhan naturally wasn’t worried about this.

He had cooperated with the Azure Dragon Venerable many times before, and each time he received considerable rewards. So even if he couldn’t trust anyone else, he would certainly not doubt the Azure Dragon Venerable.

In the blink of an eye, they headed towards the mountain peak.

Upon reaching the mountain’s summit, Wang Zhan felt an overwhelming pressure, making him extremely uncomfortable.

He glanced at the Sword Spirit beside him, then frowned and said, "Anyone else might have a hard time passing through here, unable even to withstand the intimidation..."

"It seems that the demon god in there must be far more formidable than the Water Demon. We’ll stand aside and watch; I’m curious to see just how fearsome the methods of the Azure Dragon Venerable and the Black Tortoise Venerable are?"

Although Wang Zhan had interacted with them, both appeared to have been sealing something at the time, not displaying their true abilities, which made Wang Zhan even more curious about their true strength and how it differed from his own.

The Azure Dragon Venerable laughed and said, "Even among the Dragon Clan, few can walk here. Your ability to follow us this far already speaks to your skills. Compared to those youngsters from the Dragon Clan, you are much stronger."

"In the younger generation across the Star War Battlefield, perhaps no one can stand shoulder to shoulder with you, young one. So, don’t act humble when you’ve gained much here."

Wang Zhan scratched his head but didn’t say more.

The Black Tortoise Venerable also nodded, casting his gaze at the Azure Dragon Venerable, smiling as he spoke, "Your keen judgment never ceases to amaze me. Choosing him as your successor—had I met him first, I’d have taught him everything about martial arts, making the name of the Black Tortoise Venerable known throughout the Star War Battlefield!"

The Azure Dragon Venerable shook his head but said nothing more.

"You two old fellows should stop squabbling. Let’s figure out how to quickly enter this barrier. I’m curious about what formidable methods lie within that even you two can’t break through..."

Wang Zhan interrupted.

He had become somewhat impatient.

The Azure Dragon Venerable squinted his eyes slightly, frowning as he spoke, "This barrier was set up by all of us. Though we set it, breaking it open is not easy; it requires a collective effort. But where can we find those thousands of people from millennia ago now?"

"So we must use another method: using divine weapons and tools to destroy the barrier, allowing us to enter and finally eliminate the demon god within. After a millennium’s settling, the demon god’s strength should be somewhat impacted by now, and definitely not at its peak power. Although the Black Tortoise Venerable and I aren’t what we used to be, dealing with it should still be feasible."

Wang Zhan nodded, "If that’s so, then we shouldn’t waste any more time. I still have other matters to address, and we must resolve this situation quickly!"

Now, Wang Zhan wasn’t even sure if the people of the Sky Pavilion suspected him. If they discovered he wasn’t in the back mountain, he worried that trouble might stir.

Though Feng Tianci and others were covering for him, Xiang Tian remained his biggest headache.

In a flash, the two Venerables opened the barrier before them and quickly descended underground. In a matter of moments, they reached the entrance of the core barrier.

Within the core barrier area, a series of light screens blocked Wang Zhan and the others’ steps, making movement impossible.

After glancing at the light screen, Wang Zhan’s expression turned substantially grim, "It seems that if we break through here, we should be able to enter, and the demon god is probably inside, right?"

The Azure Dragon Venerable nodded.

Wang Zhan could feel that the inside of the barrier had a strong pressure, far exceeding his imagination. No wonder both Venerables hurried here; had one of them come alone, it might have been impossible to swiftly handle the demon god within.

Hesitating for a moment, Wang Zhan took out the Poseidon’s Trident and swung it fiercely at the barrier before him.

With a loud crash, a rumbling sound suddenly emerged.

With the aid of Poseidon’s Trident, the barrier burst open.

Wang Zhan quickly stepped back several paces, squinting his eyes slightly as he calmly said, "We should be able to go in now? For the rest of the journey, the two of us won’t accompany you. Even with our strength, we can’t help you, and would only get in the way."

The Azure Dragon and Black Tortoise Venerables exchanged glances and nodded lightly, then quickly headed inside.

Wang Zhan stood at the barrier’s entrance, arms crossed, and said calmly, "We really don’t know if those two can handle the demons inside. Now that the barrier is open, if they’re trapped inside, the outcome would be disastrous. Should the demon god break out, the entire Star War Battlefield might face an unprecedented crisis. So, what do we do next?"

The Azure Dragon Venerable had already informed Wang Zhan of the Crystal Armor’s location, allowing him to follow the path to it. Shortly, he’d find it and complete his mission, potentially leaving immediately.

Yet Wang Zhan was still worried about the two Venerables. If they got trapped, it wouldn’t benefit Wang Zhan either, for they were friends, and with their help, he had obtained the Poseidon’s Trident and dealt with the Water Demon. When the Dragon Clan caused him trouble, the Azure Dragon Venerable took his side, standing against them to assist him.

These were all individual acts of grace.

Wang Zhan lightly tapped his temples with his fingers, evidently awaiting the Sword Spirit’s response.

The Sword Spirit hesitated for a moment before softly saying, "I believe the two Venerables have confidence; otherwise, they wouldn’t have stirred things up and entered the barrier. So we don’t need to worry."
