Global Awakening: This VR System is Tyrannical!
Chapter 84: Item MaterializationDonape stared at the glowing blue interface, momentarily stunned by the absurd stroke of luck unfolding before his eyes.

[Novice Quest: The Protector]
Objective: Protect the neighborhood from unrest and chaos. Demonstrate your growth by ensuring the neighborhood surrounding the shop remains the safest zone in S City.
Status: COMPLETED
Reward:
1. [76-Inch Arcane Live-Stream Monitor (Mounted)] - A high-definition, wall-mounted display positioned above the main entrance. Allows patrons to stream their live VR gameplay or showcase their pre-login menus, active titles, and unlocked achievements to the entire shop.
2. [VR Materialization Cabinet] - A new feature accessed via the VR pre-login welcome screen before launching a game. Players select their character and can physically extract owned in-game items into the real world by paying in-game currency. Extracted items are 100% authentic real-world objects.
3. [External Audio & Visual Sharing Setting] - VR Capsules can now toggle external projection. Players can broadcast their in-game audio and visual feed to surrounding patrons, or choose total isolation to completely block out external real-world noise while submerged.

[All the rewards will be online the next day.]
He was completely dumbfounded. A quest he hadn’t even personally completed had somehow cleared itself.
Granted, it wasn’t the first time this had happened—it was strikingly similar to the gang extermination quest, where he just helped a little and others fulfilled the objectives.
What truly blew his mind, however, was the second reward: In-Game Item Materialization.
It was the kind of game-changing system unlock he expected from a major shop level-up, not a simple neighborhood patrol quest.
Up until now, in-game consumables—like healing potions or cultivation pills—only exerted their real-world effects through the VR Capsule’s Synchronization Rate while a user was submerged in gameplay.
But this new feature? It was going to shift the balance of the real world at an alarming rate.
It allowed the permanent, physical manifestation of digital objects into reality, funded entirely by in-game currency earned on that specific character.
The first crazy thought that popped into Donape’s head wasn’t even about hoarding items to strengthen himself, but rather the sheer profit potential of selling extracted items at real-world auction houses.
While he hadn’t encountered any world-shattering artifacts in his experience playing those VR games yet, that didn’t mean the items lacked quality.
If genuine, authentic immortals, or cultivators, and magic items materialized in reality, people from domestic powerhouses and foreign nations alike would flock to S City the second real evidence surfaced.
"Morning, Boss Don! Hey, girls!" Ji-Hong greeted Donape cheerfully while giving a flash of a wave toward Irene, Mira, and Ga-Eun.
The three college students immediately looked away, pulling back into their coffee cups as they slowly recovered from the sudden spectacle that had just occurred outside the window.
Unbothered by their reaction, Ji-Hong slid onto a counter barstool, with Butler Lee casually taking the seat beside him.
Great Guardian Mareum, however, remained standing—his spine rigid, his gaze sweeping around the premises in stunned silence. His stiff posture made Ji-Hong’s casual entrance look remarkably out of place.
"Ahem! Sir Mareum? No need to be so formal," Ji-Hong said, patting the empty stool next to him. "Relax and take a seat."
In truth, Mareum wasn’t being formal; he was struggling to process the shop’s spatial expansion effect.
After swallowing hard, he blurted out a question that revealed his complete shock: "Do... do you all find this normal?" He gestured toward the impossibly wide, spatial-defying interior of the building.
"Oh, that?" Ji-Hong replied nonchalantly. "That’s completely normal here. Expanding or compressing space should be basic stuff for the shop."
Butler Lee chimed in with a casual, celebratory smile. "Congratulations, Shopkeeper. Your establishment seems to have reached yet another milestone—new games, new consumable products. No wonder my Young Master threw such a tantrum at home just to get here today."
Donape tilted his head slightly, curious about the details of Ji-Hong’s escape, but his attention was cut short as the main door chimed continuously.
A wave of fifteen people filed into the shop all at once. Zerke, Jong-Kook, Jung-Un, Suk-Jin, Jae-Woong, Kennedy, and Ji-Hong’s nine personal bodyguards stepped inside, filling the entrance area behind Ji-Hong, Butler Lee, and Mareum.
It was a massive crowd—one that would have instantly suffocated a normal storefront.
Fortunately, Origins VR Cafe was already upgraded to Level 3.
Accommodating over sixty patrons was effortless, provided fifty were logged into the VR Capsules while the remaining guests enjoyed their coffee and refreshments at the main counter and dining tables.
"Brat, four Obsidian Roast Coffees," Zerke called out, ordering for himself and his three companions.
"Sure, coming," Donape replied lazily, dragging his feet behind the counter.
"Two Obsidian Roast Coffees for us as well, Shopkeeper," Jae-Woong added, placing an order for himself and Kennedy.
Seeing the wave of coffee orders, Ji-Hong grinned and chimed in loudly. "Hehe, make it twelve Obsidian Roasts then—for me and my subordinates!"
"Sure," Donape said, sliding the digital payment terminal across the counter.
Meanwhile, Mareum was hit with a fresh wave of shock. First, it was the shop’s spatial expansion; now, it was the absurd price tag staring back at her from the menu board.
’50 BC for a single cup of coffee?! Is this place a scam?’ He thought, his jaw tightening.
His confusion only deepened when Donape pointed the terminal toward their group. "Huh? I have to pay separately? Didn’t Young Master Ji-Hong just order for all of us?" He asked, bewildered.
"That was just the order," Donape explained politely, his tone completely matter-of-fact. "The payment must be handled individually by each customer."
Ji-Hong leaned over and whispered hastily, "Ah, sorry, Great Guardian! I forgot you were coming along today, so I didn’t get a chance to transfer funds to your smartphone ahead of time!"
Mareum’s brow furrowed, a twitch appearing near his temple, while Ji-Hong quickly gestured toward the digital screen above the counter displaying the shop’s strict terms of service.
In reality, Ji-Hong frequently bypassed the shop’s bulk-buying restrictions simply by distributing his allowance to Butler Lee and his personal bodyguards in advance, letting them pay individually to satisfy the System’s anti-monopoly rules.
Other regular patrons never bothered with such loopholes, as paying out of their own pockets was already second nature.
After finishing their Obsidian Roast Coffees, A-Ji, Ji-Ga, and the seven other bodyguards headed and logged into their VR Capsules first.
Mareum could barely wrap his head around what was happening, despite Ji-Hong having briefed him days in advance.
"Ah, that? It’s just the usual routine," Ji-Hong said smoothly, leaning back. "They go in first while I enjoy the food menu. Don’t worry, Sir Mareum, I won’t leave you hanging alone."
Butler Lee could only shake his head in mild resignation.
Ji-Hong had only managed to secure permission to visit Origins VR Cafe today after pestering Patriarch Baek non-stop for hours—and even then, only on the strict condition that Great Guardian Mareum accompanied him.
In truth, Patriarch Baek wanted Mareum to personally verify whether this mysterious shop was truly the entity responsible for curing Ji-Hong’s defective constitution.
Patriarch Baek’s decision also came after tripling the security around the Baek Family’s main estate, stocking it with high-grade military weaponry, tactical peripherals, and heavily armed perimeter guards.
So, the absence of their Great Guardian was just a trivial matter.
"Ah, right. Boss Don, can you help me convince this gentleman beside me that playing VR games here cures my body constitution?" Ji-Hong urged, leaning over the counter.
Donape offered a subtle, calm smile, turning his gaze toward Mareum. "That’s a difficult task. This gentleman won’t believe me simply because I claim my shop can reconstruct the human body and grant power at ease."
Butler Lee sighed softly in agreement. He shared Donape’s sentiment—convincing someone who hadn’t experienced the VR Capsule’s miraculous synchronization firsthand was virtually impossible.
Mareum remained silent, his brow furrowed as he struggled to reconcile the absurd claims with the imposing, spatial-defying environment around him.
It felt as if he had walked onto the set of a high-budget theatrical drama where everyone was casually spouting complete nonsense—except the shopkeeper kept dropping every line with terrifying, absolute nonsense.
Meanwhile, Donape began collecting the empty coffee cups, casting a cool side glance at Ji-Hong.
"By the way. Teach these two the efficient way to play The Path of the Heavenly Martial Arts," Donape said, gesturing toward Jae-Woong and Kennedy. "They’re serious about pursuing real strength now. In exchange, I’ll guide you through the Path of the Heavenly Martial Arts 2 and help you later with the new VR games about magic. As the shopkeeper, I don’t have play-time limits."
Ji-Hong’s eyes lit up instantly. "Oh! Martial arts and magic?! Deal! Hehehe, of course I’ll teach them! As their friend, I’m thrilled they’re finally following in my footsteps!"
Butler Lee wasn’t particularly interested in magic—his roots were purely grounded in traditional martial arts—while Mareum felt another headache coming on as words like magic and game guide flew across the counter.
Then, just as the atmosphere settled, Donape wiped down the counter and dropped one final, casual sentence.
"Ah, right. Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to materialize authentic in-game items into the real world. Though the in-game currency fee will be quite steep."
The entire shop fell dead silent.
Ji-Hong, Butler Lee, Jae-Woong, and Kennedy froze in place, their eyes practically popping out of their heads.
Over near the big window, even Irene, Mira, and Ga-Eun stopped their assignment, staring at Donape in utter, wide-eyed shock.
